my chemical romance break up

All HARDCORE things must come to an end!

And sadly, it's time for the world to say good-bye to My Chemical Romance!

The pop-infused punk rock band has announced that after over ten years of music, touring, thieving drummers and bassists stepping out on their wives, they have decided that despite their time together being "a true blessing," that "it has come time for it to end."

In a blog post on their official website yesterday, Gerard and Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Iero wrote:

"Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."

Sad! But it certainly sounds as though everyone was in agreement to move on!

Thanks for the tune-age, guys!

We'll be blasting Helena in your honor for the rest of the night!

What do U think? Are U sad to say good-bye to My Chemical Romance??

He didn't do it , he put out a tweet saying it wasn't anything to do with his relationship things
But fan are saying the record company put out the thing saying they are breaking up.
The whole fandom is at a loss and clutching at everything. Because they all feel hard done by, getting a short paragraph to sum up 12 years of dedication to 4 people.. it just sucks.
THey have been my favourite band since i can remember, its sad to see them go.

NOT bashing the band…lout hardcore…is NOT the word to use to describe em…..but yea..all good things must come to an end…they had a good run eh?

It's just kind of a weird situation. My best friend is a huge fan… and when I think of it through her eyes, it's kind of a slap in the face.
"Thanks for 12 years…cya!" It's a paragraph! Where's the final album? Where's the final tour? You can't just forget about fans!

Id be sadder if it was the old MCR, after they performed on yo gaba gaba…I lost all respect for them as a band. I used to love them…

Re: Heather – Wow, half of the members have little kids, is it really that bad that they performed on a kids' show? I thought it was cute, and probably much more appropriate for a toddler to watch their dad in than a rock show.

SOOOOOO sad! They are my favorite band. I was so hoping to see them again

Was it really necessary to say anything about Mikey's personal life in this? It's tacky and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the band breaking up. Fans are hurting and you throw this in their faces? Where's the "softer, gentler" Perez Hilton we've heard so much about? Tearing people down for page hits as usual. *disgusted

I agree with Adora. But I think what sickens me more is the fans talking about this stuff. Why run Mikey down now? Why do we need to know WHY? If your bestfriend died in a tragic car accident would you demand to see the mutilated body? Would you want to replace all your happy memories with the visual of a broken corpse that used to be the person you loved most? The band is done. It doesn't matter why. Keep your memories fond and held close and MOVE ON. And "where's the last album? where's the last tour?" It's back in 2008, it was called the North American Tour. I spent $2000.00 going to 5 shows in 2 weeks from maine to alabama to MSG back home to maine, because all the fans KNEW it was the end. But they gave us 5 more years and 2 more albums and 2 more tours. I wish all the members of MCR my complete love and support in anything hey choose to do in the future. MCR was a great chapter in my life. Now write me four more ;)

Re: mikey did this – Mikey did NOT do this. The end was already on its path. Dont blame Mikey for one screw up. The end has been coming since 2012

    COOL

I still recall their annoying videos playing nonstop on MTV and now I hardly hear them. The band tried to come back but it just wasn't working out. If music execs don't see a profit they will easily throw you in the trash. I doubt one guy is to blame for all this mess. More bands are becoming extinct nowadays with the pop scene taking over.

I have been a fan since 2003 and I will always have a huge part of heart reserved for MCR and the memories they contributed to give me. I was saddened and it is unbearably melancholic, but it was time. I am just happy that, after that really dry statement on their website, Gerard wrote a heartfelt and poignant letter to the fans and, I think to himself and his band.

I know a lot of people are going to disagree with me but I just don't see how they can do music for 10 years and quit and call themselves musicians. Real musicians never quit. You can't quit music. What they did was they felt like they earned enough money and decided to retire. It's a slap in the face to the fans who made them who they are, who put them where they are.

  19. 19

    Hardcore? PLEASE.

  20. Billy says – reply to this

    So long and goodnight MCR

This is sad, I love that band. I'm just sorry I didn't get a chance to see them play live.
