I'm kind of doubting the truth of this story, because there is no rehab around that would allow anyone to take Adderall while they were going there for treatment. It's one of the most abused prescription drugs there is and anyone feeling they NEED it like that is clearly addicted to it. There are non-addictive alternatives to it so if she were genuinely suffering from ADHD and/or hyperactivity as she claims (never been proven), the rehab facility would use those. She would also most likely be tested while she was there to see if she even needed something like that. In her case, if she's suffering from either (again, it's never been proven), it's most likely a result of her drug/alcohol addiction.

I don't know much about Addy at all I know it is just a regular ole amphetamine I know I just started taking large doses even at bed time and it makes me feel like I could stare at a wall for hours or just lay down and stay. I did not seek it out but a dr. thought it would help me in graduate school and with o/c behaviors. I have never taken drugs but I was kind of like "yeah speed" no such effect) = lol If anything I have never smoked but i imagine that is it. I kind of feel like I need it, I don't do silly compulsive behaviors and things have slowed down alot and I actually sleep Maybe Linds does well on it.
BTW who is coming out of the judges chambers telling her medical facts about the case….agree w/Re: ickynicky – also a rehab facility usually is staffed medically and does not let outside medication in. Thx for the share lololx

    "prescription speed?"

It actually doesn't get you "high" if you have truly have ADHD fyi. I'm not suggesting someone should take who has a drug problem, as it clearly has the possiblity and likelihood for abusive.

But I don't recommend castigating thousands of people because this loser takes it (and likely abuses it). Just a thought "Mr. Changed-Man."

Re: ickynicky – Just curious but what are these alternatives you speak of. I have been on EVERYTHING -and nothing for long periods of time. Can you imagine being obsessive compulsive and confused and flighty===I don't believe in ADHd or whatever but when I took the Adderrall is was like turning a light on in a dark room, my compulsive thoughts of 10yrs eased. I do tend to waste time focused on one thing for to long, before that wasn't possible. But I am treated like a criminal when I go to the drug store.

Re: Comments off C off – You may want to consider changing doctors, because if they haven't done a more extensive examination to determine if you are in fact ADD/ADHD then chances are you're not getting what you may need. There are alternatives to Adderall and Ritalin LA, but they are generally perscribed to people they cannot diagnose with the actual disorder but may have some other issues that are inconclusive, or if you don't quite meet all of the criteria for being diagnosed. Doctors/physicians are not allowed to freely hand out the amphetamine treatments, they undergo a yearly review by the government and board commissions and things like this are very high priority to ensure they aren't giving serious treatments like this to people that aren't very thoroughly tested. I don't know if you'll be given Strattera or Intuniv as an adult, but there are several non-stimulant alternatives.

If you do not have the actual disorder than nothing you take is going to help you with your issue, and it remains undiagnosed. Please change your Doctor.

Lindsay has the disorder, it's obvious to anyone who actually has it and has been diagnosed. She would have to undergo a very thorough testing and examination to be given adderall and that includes behavioral as well as personality, cognative and other tests. It's really not very easy to get on an amphetamine treatment.

Re: Comments off C off – And I am saying this to you as someone with ADHD, and my mother is extremely conscious of these types of things due to her training and career in the medical field as a nurse and now an administrator for a chain of hospitals in Texas and California, she did not want me treated with a stimulant but there was really no other choice with me. If your Doctor did not test you thoroughly enough, and Adderall or whatever other amphetamine based treatment you've had is not helping you then you're taking something your body is not needing, and can lead to other health risks. So don't panic by what I'm telling you, but please do find a highly recommended physician to examine you and give you another opinion.

Re: valentina – I appreciate your wealth of knowledge, I don't have it. I am s/what educated on meds but not things like amphetamines and Opiates. I can't take opiates they make me extremely hyper. I had no testing the Dr. did speak with me for quite awhile. Like I said it was like turning a light on in a dark room and my compulsive or obsessive thoughts diminish. I am not an episode of obsessed though. The "zoned out" feeling though just like I could sit and not think anything(opposite of me) I don't like. When I take it at night I can sleep without feeling like (ambien, don't like) which I have had insomnia my whole life. I have taken srtattera and a myriad of drugs , and I have done nothing …certain anxiety issues. The Adderall also I noticed I am so calm things roll off my back instead of eat me alive. Bottom line though I am treated like a criminal when I pick it up and if there were alternatives I would love it. I did live in Austin and had amazing insurance, many dr.s. I am buying insurance out of pocket now and this Dr. is far away and (I am told) I was "lucky" to get in….I can't wait to hair did in this town. You did freak me out a little it is my nature……hmmmm I will go take some Adderall (joke) Thank you for the info! You are kind I have found nothing on the net about the "zoned out effect" except at the beginning of the medication.

Lilo likely suffering from alcoholism, Adderal, and maybe cocaine or meth use. She is aging fast, and will soon overdose, unless she can stop and change her life. Too bad marijuana isn't legal and people could use it much more safely than guzzling alcohol. Marijuana is a very healthy food if taken as an edible, not smoked. There is a great $2.99 e-book on medical marijuana: MARIJUANA - Guide to Buying, Growing, Harvesting, and Making Medical Marijuana Oil and Delicious Candies to Treat Pain and Ailments by Mary Bendis, Second Edition. This book has great recipes for easy marijuana oil, delicious Cannabis Chocolates, and tasty Dragon Teeth Mints.
