Bill Clinton To Recieve GLAAD Honor! Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Charlize Theron To Present!

Is Bill Clinton an angel in disguise??!

Probably not, but he is our hero!!!

The former president will be honored with GLAAD's first ever Advocate for Change Award.

Good ole' Bill was chosen for the prestigious award because of his past and present advocacy for equal rights.

Let's just say he has gone above and BEYOND the call of duty for the LGBT community.

Not only was he the FIRST U.S. president to appoint ANY openly gay and lesbian people to government positions, but he appointed more than 150 of us!!!

Not to mention how he lobbied for marriage equality in New York and North Carolina, and that time he publicly call out the head honchos in the Supreme Court to abandon the Defense of Marriage Act.

GLAAD's Wilson Cruz explained:

"President Clinton's support of the LGBT community and recognition that DOMA, the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, is unconstitutional and should be struck down shows that the political landscape continues to change in favor of LGBT equality. Leaders and allies like President Clinton are critical to moving our march for equality forward."

We couldn't agree more and it doesn't hurt that either Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlize Theron, or Jennifer Lawrence will be presenting him with the award! LOLz.

But in all seriousness, we need to recognize those that have been there for us and celebrate them!

Change is coming and it is all thanks to people like Bill!

Past advocacy? You’re joking, right? You do realize The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law by “Good ole Bill” on September 21, 1996. It’s asinine to give an award to someone whose legacy is still being fought! Wow . . .

They should have him behind bars, not in them
He has had multiple charges against him for what he has done to innocent women

i'M confused, Clinton did sign DOMA and DADT? And was it not Obama who reserved DADT, announced his support for gay marriage as the only the sitting president? so how is Clinton an advocate for gay rights.

This is so embarrassing. If it wasn't for Bill Clinton, there wouldn't be a DOMA to repeal! Now, he's being honored because he spoke out against it years later? The damage was done, pal!

President Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act. Your article smacks of revisionism.
BTW: While I am in favor of equal rights for all, I am not in favor of revisionist history.

LMAO! omg…you really dont know what you speak of! I mean, I knew that pretty much but this is really the shining example. Maybe you should read something besides gossip mags or…not talk about real world issues. Bill Clinton is hardly a star for the LGBT community, UNTIL it was politically "ok" to be that! READ SOMETHING!
