| Filed under: Music MinutePerezTVDixie Chicks

Wonderful news, y'all!

Former Dixie Chicks frontwoman Natalie Maines — whose voice is always infused with POWER and passion — has decided to record a solo album and is calling it Mother!!

Take a good long listen to the album's first single Without You (above).

SO nice to hear those sweet, southern vocals singing new material once more. We've had a Natalie Maines sized hole in our heart for too long!

Mother smashes into digital and physical shelves May 7th… SO excited to gobble up allll of Natalie's musical treats!

Without You is a cover of an Eddie Vedder song off his solo album "Ukulele Songs".

She's an artist who has to discover other avenues of her talent. Also I have to add and if she reads this she will understand we love her in Austin and she knows that. It will always be her for her forever.

She is an artist learning more about her talent. She has a wonderful and gifted voice. I also have to say and she would understand that she is loved in Austin and knows its always a special place.

I love her. I'm not a country music person, but her attitude win me over. I like her music and the Dixie Chicks.

This is an Eddie Vedder song which she is covering. Not her own.

Although I think she achieves perfection when paired with Emily and Martie, this solo album is a good sign that Natalie is ready to make nice with her beautiful voice once again.

This arrangement does nothing to showcase her powerful vocals, have to admit I don't think it's the best choice to launch her comeback with…seems really disjointed musically. I'm a big fan of her previous work, and look forward to hearing some new material.

Her voice is still GREAT but didnt like the loudness of the guitar on this song.
