Beyonce And Jay-Z's Cuba Trip Was Approved As A 'Cultural' Visit! Phew!!

We can rest assured! Beyonce and Jay-Z are in the clear and no longer being investigated!

It turns out their recent trip to Cuba was in fact approved by the US Treasury Department. Phew!!

A source revealed to Reuters that Bey and Jay were provided with a "people-to-people" license that allowed for the trip to be taken as a "cultural" visit. Their time in Cuba, though mostly reported as a celebratory 5th anniversary getaway, solely consisted of time spent with local musicians, artists, and privately-run restaurants. No time spent at the beach or any of the usual tourist spots.

It still sounds more like a vacation to us, even if the power couple didn't take a romantic walk on the sand. (It must not hurt being friends with the President and First Lady, either!)

But really, the only trouble here is that of bad press. Hopefully, their memories haven't been spoiled by this misunderstanding.

i wonder why people made such a big deal out of Beyonce and Jay Z traveling to cuba for their anniversary when stars like Dicaprio, Deniro, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss have all visited this year and noone said anything..

I feel bad because these two individually or together can NEVER do something for themselves without it being questioned.. it makes no sense. they are apart of the very few celebs who carry themselves right in the limelight and it drives people crazy.. stop trying to tear them down, let them live! everyone bitching about them going to Cuba for THEIR anniversery should be kicking themselves in the head right now, u all have been proven wrong when it comes to Beyonce or JayZ. ONCE AGAIN! (rosebudd99 cuz i know ur crazy ass is gonna be commenting w something negative as u always do on Beyonce posts)

It's time America stopped with this stupid embargo.
A island country reclaims its independence in the 1950's and there is still an embargo.
    Stop this insanity already.

Perez, as a Cuban/American you should be out there opposing their visit
You know that the $$$$ that tourist spend go into the pockets of the Castro Brothers
which fuels their agenda to oppress the people in Cuba

here is a little hint to jzee for the next time he wears a "che" t shirt. Che hated *iggers. hated them and the darker your skin was the quicker you got butchered. you people really do need to read some history books. Its embarrassing watching people be this stupid.

Re: Mr Pete – perez's pockets are filled by the beyonces and kardashawhores, he can't bite the hand that feeds him even if Castro did murder and pillar his family.

I'm Cuban-American and I was disgusted that they went to Cuba. All the tourism money goes to the government and none of it is used for the people who live there. NONE OF IT!! People's houses are falling apart and not enough food, if not none at all, is sent to grocery stores for people to buy. One thing is what you find in Havana(tourist area) and another thing is what you find outside of Havana. The block is done for a reason. If you go as a trousist to Cuba, you're handing money to Fidel Castro and his communist friends right into their pockets, not the public!!!

OMG! OMG! They went to CUBA, slap!!! Celebs have been going to Cuba since the dawn of time, Sinatra went there a hell of a lot, so have many rock bands, not to perform, but to hang out in! So I ask WHERE IS THE PROBLEM?????

Re: K – you're a complete moron. Maybe a little reading would do you some good, or maybe comprehending isn't your strong suit. Kate moss and Naomi Campbell are NOT Americans ya twit. Please tell me where it was reported that both Deniro and Dicaprio visited Cuba this year? Di caprio visited in 1998 when he and Alanis morisette ( a canadian, not an american) were invited by Cubans minister of culture, and yes Leonardo did catch heat for going to Cuba. It's legal for Americans to travel to Cuba only for the purpose of cultural learning or education. These two self entitled idiots clearly went to celebrate their anniversary.

Bad press = questioning press = checks and balances, which is part of what the press are
there to do besides adequately inform.
