Texas Stabbing Suspect Arrested; Disturbing Motive Revealed

| Filed under: Legal MattersSad Sad

dylan quick texas stabbing spree suspect(1)

We want to say we still can't believe this happened, but it seems like these senseless massacres (or in this case, attempted massacre) keep happening these days. And it needs. to. stop.

Dylan Quick has been arrested in the horrific stabbing spree that shook the Cypress campus of Lone Star College on Tuesday.

Reports keep going back and forth between 14 and 15 — the number of those injured during the incident, but either one is terrifying.

The Texas suburb is still shaking, even more so now that that motive has been revealed.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Quick was planning the attack for some time now and apparently had fantasies of stabbing people to death every since grade school.

Can we please do something to improve our mental health programs now?? How about implementing ones in the schools, hmm??

As for the campus, officials decided to keep the college closed throughout Wednesday.

We can only hope those affected will be able to fully recover from this — physically AND psychologically, though we fear the latter may be harder than the former.

Obviously these psychos don't need guns to hurt people. Where there's a will, there's a way.

By posting his name, you're giving him exactly what he wants. How about not posting the pictures and names of the psychos who commit these horrible crimes and instead focusing on the victims. They're the ones who really matter, after all.

Perez, are you going to start demanding a knife ban? Or is this fine because a gun wasn't used.

I live less than a mile from the college and used to attend there but now I'm at university of Houston downtown. I'm honestly just scared to go anywhere now and I am so scared that it could happen at my school. It is happening everywhere now.

What motive? There is no motive stated on fantasies and that is not a motive. Stop misleading people with your titles!

if he had a gun, a lot more would have been killed….so yes guns need to be banned!!

I live in Texas. Fairly close to what happened and all I have to say is Obama needs to STOP with the gun laws and START where the problem really is… and that's mental health. if someone wants to kill, they will find a way to do it regardless if guns are outlawed or not.

Now you want mental health awareness stepped up? Or you want guns taken away? How about we just take away everyone's knives……steak knives and paring knives. But you can still keep your butter knives.

Local news had posted a picture of his parents house (their cars with license plates clearly visible as well- a huge no-no, which is why I suspect they took the picture down), and said that he was home schooled there his whole life. He was born deaf and had a cochlear implant at age 7. He also used to carry a stuffed sock monkey on campus and ask it questions, and make it answer his own questions…The local news is offering up a lot more information than the national news. MENTAL HEALTH is this nation's problem.

I agree with Shelle, you should really mention the brave young men who tackled him, and sat on him until police came.

If people knew anything about mental illness they would know that banning guns is a better solution than relying on mental health programs. You see, a first year basic psych course would tell you that most people with violent and psychotic type mental illness DO NOT seek treatment, and if they are FORCED into treatment, it almost NEVER works.

Re: Stacy Dash – If he had had a gun it would have been a lot worse, some people are so stupid.

Victims of traumatic crimes like that all go through depression, and some can even develop PTSD. Both of which needs mental help.
    Mental illness can be contagious

Re: thebigboot – No one was killed because a gun was not involved. How can you defend THAT?

Re: maggie – Actually, there was a shooting at this schools other location not too long ago. He shot three people I believe. No one died. So, actually this attack was "worse" (I dont think either one was worse. They were both horrible) than the attack with the gun. Taking away constitutional rights wont solve the problem. And yes, I believe focusing attention and money on mental health and training for teachers, parents, etc to recognize mental issues, would greatly help the real problem. The REAL problem. Outlawing guns is like putting a bandaid on the issue. And it is strictly to create the illusion that they are attempting to fix the issue. I do agree that publishing this mans name and giving him any media attention is a horrible thing to do. Focus the media attention where it belongs… On the people who stopped this man and on the victims affected by the attack.

First of all, nobody in the government is even trying to ban guns right now, so slow the fuck down you tyrants.

But if guns were banned, all that would do is instantly turn millions and millions of sane, kindhearted, rational, upstanding, law abiding citizens into criminals- instantly! The vast majority of gun owners will not turn in their guns. They'll just go as underground as they can, start being paranoid and scared (of the government as well as their tyrannical anti-gun neighbors), and really start looking out for number one and nobody else. Is that what you idiots want? Millions and millions of scared, angry criminals who are well-armed and well-trained? Or would you prefer kindhearted, caring, upstanding citizens of your communities who are well-armed and well-trained? Think about that choice, because there will not be an in-between.
