Melissa Joan Hart Pulls A Veronica Mars! Starts Kickstarter For Darci's Walk Of Shame!

| Filed under: Film FlickersMelissa Joan Hart

It looks like this TV star is the first to ride the coattails of the Veronica Mars Kickstarter campaign!

Melissa Joan Hart has launched her own campaign for her film project Darci’s Walk of Shame. Teaming up with her Sabrina the Teenage Witch director Tibor Takacs, Melissa is asking her fans to help raise $2 million! And just like VMars, she and her team will be giving away prizes to fans!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) and see what Melissa has to say!

The film will revolve around Darci — “a woman who can’t seem to find the right guy.” Melissa explained:

“When she takes a trip to a tropical resort to attend her sister’s wedding…alone, she makes a snap decision to take a risk and step outside the box and wakes up alone in a stranger’s bed, left to find her way back to her family and take a very long, confusing walk of shame in a ridiculously bright colored taffeta bridesmaid’s gown through the island paradise.”

She wrote:

“When Tibor gave me this script, I fell in love! …Darci is a very flawed woman who is just looking for love and happiness, not unlike everyone I have ever met. By playing Darci, I will get the chance to once again be in a fun and hilarious Rom-Com much like Drive Me Crazy…only all grown up and having a roll in the hay with the hot actors in the film! I am asking you to do what Hollywood won't, and that is to take a chance on me as the lead of a romantic comedy film.”

Think they can do it?! CLICK HERE if you'd like to support the project! It could be HIGHlarious!

FAIL! The only reason the Veronica Mars kickstarter worked is because it had a serious fan base already, who wanted more. Melissa's project is just an idea with no fan base, so I think it'll be a lot tougher for her to make the same amount of money, or to reach her goal at all.

Re: fid – I completely agree with you, this project is bound to failure.

I sadly agree. I love MJH but I'm just not as interested in this movie. Now if she had done another Sabrina movie I think she would have success lol, but I guess that's what she's trying to get away from. But just seeing her do her magic again in the bit warmed my heart lol.

As much as I love MJH, this is pretty lame. There is no fan base to go off of, it would be donating to a lost cause. Kinda weird she's piggybacking off of Veronica Mars idea, too. If I'm remembering correctly one of her previous movies (Nine Dead) wasn't very successful either, so this is sadly doomed to fail.

A new Sabrina movie I would totally spend money on. Not this though. Hey even a clarissa reunion.

She sucks. She basically just copied and pasted all the Veronica Mars rewards onto her Kickstarter page. Lame and LAZY. No, MJH, I would not PAY $$$$$ to be in your lame ass movie.

It took me a good 2 minutes to remember who she even was. I guess she could still make 2 mil in 40 days or so, but I honestly doubt that this will receive the same amount of publicity as the VM project (which got the publicity because it had exploded in the first 10 hours).

Also most of the rewards are just copy and paste from the VM page. They couldn't think of 10 original ideas or so for their kickstarter, but they are asking me to fund a movie? Just no.
