Comic Book Banned From Apple Store Due To Gay Sex!

apple bans comic gay sex saga censored

This may be a strange image, but nothing too offensive. But under that tiny little dot is the blowjob that launched a thousand censorships.

After seeing the graphic image of a homosexual act, Apple comic book app Comixology chose to ban the sale of this issue of the comic book Saga from iPhones and iPads.

The controversial panel features a robot guy whose head is a TV screen (don't ask us, just read the book), and on that TV screen there is a drawing of gay sex.

But since Apple isn't usually in the habit of banning graphic violence or sexual material in its media, this definitely has raised more than a few eyebrows- and questions of homophobia!

Well, this time it seems the public outcry has turned things around! Comixology released a statement less than two days after the news of the ban broke. They said:

"As a partner of Apple, we have an obligation to respect its policies for apps and the books offered in apps…

After hearing from Apple this morning, we can say that our interpretation of its policies was mistaken. You’ll be glad to know that Saga #12 will be available on our App Store app soon."

They went on to apologize for the misunderstanding! Good call! If art like this can be censored so easily, we are scared for the future!

Maybe not for a future where guys have TVs for heads or anything, but still!

To see what all the hubbub was about, you can see the NSFW uncensored image …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

It's not art..It's a damn comic book character sucking another comic book character's dick. It's unneeded. So, if we disagree with it = Homophobic? That PC crap, has gotten out of control.

Does that mean Mary Jane can give Spider-Man a BJ in the next issue?!?! This is graphic hard core x-rated porn(NOT normally allowed on Apple).

    Re: NookiesWA

Agreed! And I'm a homo! Apple was right!

I'm gay and I'm offended by a cock sucking being available for viewing by kids. Gay cocks, straight cocks. It's all the same; equally offensive if it's available to kids.

But the most offensive thing is how long and skinny the cock is. Ooooh.

Apple has just censored more than a thousand French comic books and graphic novels that were to… graphic for America's hypocritical prudish minds. Violence, blood and guts : ok. Sex : filthy. No wonder you start wars all around the world for no reasons.

I drew a huge dick and balls on a deer crossing sign once. Can you believe they scrubbed my lovely artwork off? Now I am looking for left turn arrow signs, they are just to easy to be creatively as dick and balls.

It isn't banned, you can buy the book right now in the Image app for ios.

Also, it wasn't apple that delayed the publishing, it was comixology.

Sex Acts, gay or straight, should not be on a "Comic Book" Apple was right on this one.
Plenty of porno out there. Stay out of comic books where impressionable kids might see.
What is wrong with these people?

Nothing too disturbing???? Are you kidding me? This is horrible and uncalled for. I do not want to see this OR anyone sucking another person's bodypart in the comics. This shit is getting way out of hand and believe me I am considered a very cool mom!!

I think there's a bit of background missing.

First, it's not a comic book for kids, I'm fact most comic books aren't generally aimed towards kids. Children under 17 aren't even allowed to buy this specific series. They could probably get around this online, but in stores they're not allowed to. People still think that because comics started as kids' stories it stayed that way. Art does one thing: tackles economic or social tensions in the real world, regardless of the medium. Kids won't understand the way adults do, and since the 60s they (at least Marvel ones) have been written mainly for adults.

Second, Saga has had plenty of graphic images before. They've had full on hetero sex, orgies, and lesbian sex before. These weren't small images either, they were full on panels or even pages, and there weren't amy issues raised with those images. So why should two tiny images of a couple of dudes giving each other blow jobs be so much worse? Even in this scene, someone pretty much explodes soon afterward in a truly violent scene, which I personally find to be even more graphic.

It wouldn't be a big deal if is was the only graphic image in this series, but it wasn't, and it was probably the least graphic of other images they've shown.

It's porn for god's sake. I just got a Macbook on and I'm agreeing with Apple here. If they allow this, imagine what else it could lead to…

Comics are expensive and are made for, and bought by, adults. Comic are not a kiddie item anymore. Anyone offended by this has not been in a comic shop, check out The Boys or Crossed, both have content a lot more graphic and disturbing than this.
