Upon news of the horrible Boston Marathon explosions earlier today, it is being reported that a third incident occurred at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum at 3pm ET. Though the details still remain unknown, a fire appeared to have started in JFK Library’s mechanical room.
No official word on whether this fire is related to the explosions near 673 Boylston Street, other than the library's Twitter calling such theories "pure speculation" as it is too early to tell. However, Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis has reported that police are currently investigating any possible connection.
The official JFK Library’s Twitter page shared the following:
Despite this all, we’re happy to hear no one was injured. Our thoughts are with those in Boston. Stay safe!
