Justin Timberlake And Jay-Z BLASTED By Kid Rock For High Ticket Prices!

kid rock blasts justin timberlake and jay z for steep ticket prices

Kid Rock is taking a stand for your wallet!

The singer recently appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight, and when the host asked him about Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z charging ticket prices as high as a whooping $225 for their upcoming tour, he had some choice words for the dynamic duo:

"It's garbage. It's highway robbery. I don't care who you are… I would consider both of them in a circle of friends in the business but I don't agree with it."

Yikes! We love JT and Jay as much as the next person, but the man has a point! Tickets are getting CRAZY expensive lately!

Well Mr. Rock is also literally putting his money where his mouth is and is making sure the ticket prices for his Best Night Ever tour stay low low low!

The singer is charging fans a mere 20 bucks for each of his shows and even struck up a deal with concert venues to make sure parking and merchandise is affordable as well!

Kid is estimated to lose up to $100,000 a night due to the low prices, but he says it's all worth it as long as the fans have a good time:

"I've always tried to keep prices what I think are fair. And I've always said I'm proud that I could walk around with my head held high and look someone in the eye, knowing that I haven't taken an un-honest dollar from a working man… I make a lot of money. I can take a pay cut."

How awesome is that?!!

It's not every day that you see musicians willing to cough up a little money of their own for the sake of the fans, but hopefully other bands will follow suit so we don't have to burn a hole in our pockets every time we go to a concert!

Rock on, Kid Rock!

He is right and good for him, but I have been to a kidR concert where he & his strippers were so drunk he could barely perform and they were falling all over the stage.

  2. 2

THANK YOU KID ROCK! Ticket prices are obnoxiously expensive and scalpers make it worse. I think if people abstain themselves from purchasing tickets then maybe these fat cats would get it. Kid ROck loves his music and respects his fan while Jay and Justin are only thinking about money and how to suck their fans dry. Sure, I like to get away and go to a concerts now and then but I don't think charging $225 a ticket is right unless I get a meet and greet, t-shirt, and some free alcohol from Justin Timberlake.

The real problem here is the people STUPID enough to pay that much.

Re: beach – I agree. I suppose if you have money to burn it is no big deal - maybe they only want rich fans.

  7. 7

Re: beach – That's exactly what I said too. WE the PEOPLE control the market NOT THEM. It's all about price and demand. $225 a ticket is ridiculous and that's not even including how much extra fees and charges.

What the hell is he complaining about? In Brazil we pay over 400$ for tickets.. And this is a poor country.

  9. 9

Sexy as fuck AND cares about his fans!!! This guy rocks!!!

This coming from the same guy who signed up for a Cancer benefit concert in 2011 in DETROIT and cancelled it at the last minute. I know someone who was an organizer of that and she was a HUGE Kid Rock fan. The reason he cancelled the concert benefit was because they refused to sell his Bad Ass beer at the fundraiser and some other BS stuff.
The American Cancer Society had to refund most of the tickets that were sold…at $350 a piece.

  11. 11

Oh, and I wouldn't walk across to street to see JZ or Timberlake nekkid. $225?! Wacked.

I went to a Gaga concert in 2009 and paid $100, that was my limit. They were GREAT seats but I would never go higher than that. He's not soo golden though because a concert like Kid Rocks probably is a lot less . . . . flashy and theatrical than other performers so that may be a reason he can be flexible with pricing tickets.

  13. 13

He is right. The only time I spent a bit more was to see the QUEEN.

I just gained a huge amount of respect for Kid Rock. That quote was admirable! Good for him for thinking of the fans of first & being willing to take a pay cut. I wasn't planning on seeing Jay Z & JT in concert but I have to say, those ticket prices are insane! And no offense, they're good but they're not THAT good. The egos on them..

Then don't go then "Kid Rock"….if the prices are that high and people don't go, then they will have to cancel the shows or reduce the prices. Simple as that…just don't go, I know I would not pay that kind of money to see a concert…ppppfffttt!!

    16

Rock On Kid! $225 is insane! JT and JZ are greedy ass mo-fos!

    17

Waw that shows that only Brazilian rich people are able to pay high princes for the tickets, as the minimum salary in Brazil is $678… or maybe people are crazy enough to not eat only to go to a concert….

    18

Kid is a down home, down to earth kind of guy. Those other two, not so much.
If the market supports it, they'll do it, but I know whose tickets I'm buying.

  19. 19

Um Jay Z and JT aren't musicians. Most musicians make 225 dollars to play a show because of the slow general public with their simpleton attitudes.

Re: NAH – my god, does everyone have to be completely perfect in the eyes of the general public?? He's talking about ticket prices, keep it on the same subject. NO ONES PERFECT. Doesn't mean you can't agree with this one thing hes saying.

I am a big fan of JayZ and JT's music, but Kid Rock has a point. However, he shouldn't just single those two out. It's rare that I pay less than $150 for good concert tickets. Then it's the parking, souvenirs, and drinks when you're there. It's ridiculous! In the last few recent years, the more expensive concerts I have seen have been Katy Perry, Radiohead, Coldplay, JayZ and Kanye, and last year's Coachella (if that counts), and none of those tickets were easy on the pockets. But at least I can say I enjoyed the shows.

Re: NAH – Actually, the benefit was in breach of contract; it had nothing to do with not selling badass beer. Your organizer friend isn't giving you the full story.

  23. warner says – reply to this

    23

This is silly though, you could pick a couple dozen acts for who have the prices for the best tickets (BTW I got my JZ/JT tix for 50 a piece) in that range right now. Why is he targetting only Justin and Jay Z?

  24. warner says – reply to this

    24

Re: kiki – Yes, it's "retarded" to spend 250 dollars for front row seats to see two acts that would honestly cost that much to see each for similar tickets.

  25. 25

Honestly, there's probably a couple dozen acts touring for which you'd pay this kind of premium for the best seats, which is what we're talking about here. I got mine for 55 a piece, a bargain to see two performers you'd usually pay more for each. I'm not sure why Kid Rock is lashing out at just this tour. I guess he needs the publicity for his own.

  26. 26

Just to clarify, it was not Kid Rock who brought up Jay-Z and Justin as an example, it was Piers Morgan. So it was not a case of Kid Rock singling out those two, as some of the posters seem to think.

KR has also negotiated deals for cheap beer ($4 for 12oz) and food for these concerts. E.g. 2 jumbo hot dogs, 2 fries and 2 sodas for $20. Plus free coffee for everybody at the end of the night.

I think it's great for the fans and I hope other artists will think about taking a pay cut as well. Times are tough and this is really appreciated.

That funny he talks about Jay-z and Justin, when Elton John ticket were $300,Barbara Streisand was $300,Paul McCartney was$288,Rolling Stone $137, and it goes on, where was Kidd Rock when these stars had their concerts. Please get off your high horse.

  28. Bonasforza says – reply to this

    28

Well they are still only half the price of Madonna's front row…

  29. 29

What in the heck are you talking about Perez Hilton ? First, Kid Rock suffered a horrible tragedy when his friend (Joseph Calleja) or Joe C as they called him, died in 2000. You can search the causes, if you actually have a heart.

Second, Kid Rock loves Detroit, and praises it every chance he gets. Why do you put someone down when you apparently do not know what in the heck you are talking about.

Third, There are MILLIONS of fans out there that love his music, he writes his own music, unlike a lot of artists these days, and if you actually listen to the words, they are not as bad as some rappers out there. In fact, he had a change of heart and now does country music, and he is beloved by millions, once again.

You really need to do some research before you come out and make these false statements. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not to make up lies about someone just because YOU dislike them.”
