Macklemore And Ryan Lewis Can't Hold Us! Watch The New Music Video HERE!

WOW.

It's hard to believe that these are the same guys that complained about paying fifty dollars for a T-shirt!

But the sixteen shoots and six continents that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis traveled to for their new Can't Hold Us music video was WELL worth it.

The frozen tundra, tropical jungle, camel-riding, dog sleds, planes, and pirate-ship party prove that really NOTHING can hold these two back!

AH-Mazing!!!!!!

Ch-ch-check out the PURE INSANITY (above)!!!!

Does anyone else feel like maybe this is a bit like exoticizing people of color n'stuff? Like, why is he taking all these exotic images, tribal patterns, etc. on a journey that ends in him planting his flag in Seattle? I've loved Macklemore & Ryan Lewis to this point, but I'm a little sadface now :( (note: he does have a song about white privilege, but still)

Re: Kris – I went to the fan appreciation party where he debuted this video the day before it came out and they also did a Q&A. Macklemore seemed to know who he was, he knows he's a white guy. I would say he carries himself as a man that isn't thinking about someones skin color. He's interacting w/ those around him in a way that 'who gives a crap about what color you are' we're all people. As for the video…some of the people 'of color' sing in the song, or play the trumpet…so the only other person I can think of that stands out in terms of the 'of color' part (that you seem to be referring to) is the 79 yr old, Da Kadu who, from the interactions at the party seems to be someone that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis found a connection w/. As for the places and that some were 'exotic', we're talking hawaii and australia and oregon. Why are those places limited to being synonomous w/ a person of color…only people of color could be in a place w/ sand? Come on now.

Re: Kris – They will admit this song is essentially about nothing and when they were coming up with the idea for the video they were throwing out crazy ideas of locations and pirate ships and ice caves. Not at any moment was it about 'oh we need to have people that aren't white running around all tribal and stuff'. Come on now, it's a video with cool places and cool people…that's it. As for ending in Seattle. They LOVE Seattle. They feel a connection w/ this place. It's home. So darn right it ends here for them.
