Monday’s Boston bombings marked yet another horrible day in this country’s history. What’s more, it’s two days later, and we’re still not in the clear.
But despite the tragedy and chaos, Bostonians’ resilience is unyielding. It’s no wonder Stephen Colbert dedicated the opening of The Colbert Report to them.
Ch-ch-check out the his heartfelt and inspiring tribute (above)!
In the meantime, here are just a few of his quotes worth mentioning more than once:
"Whoever did this obviously did not know about the people of Boston. Nothing these terrorists do is going to shake them… For Pete's sake, Boston was founded by the Pilgrims, a people so tough, they had to buckle their goddamn hats on."
"Here's what these cowards really don't get. They attacked the Boston Marathon, an event celebrating people who run 26 miles on their day off until their nipples are raw — for FUN."
"Here's what I know, these maniacs may have tried to make life bad for the people of Boston, but all they can ever do is show just how good those people are."
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Well done, Stephen.
