Not being fair to your employees is SO not fashionable!

The writers at style critique show Fashion Police are currently on STRIKE, as they have been fighting with network heads because of alleged unpaid overtime and other dodgy payment practices…

AND they are demanding that E! allow them to be considered as a Writers Guild show so that they can be protected by the WGA organization from future shady dealings!

Now, we've heard that people over at E! claim they ARE willing to negotiate and that it is the writers who are being unreasonable, but we've JUST been made aware of a rather harsh email that was sent solely to the writers FROM a network bigwig that seems to want to GUILT the writers into giving up!!

In the e-mail, the person reiterates the point that it is the WRITERS who are holding up their own cause, and that "negotiations could have been underway and it’s entirely possible that we could already have a fair deal for all by now."

BUT, our inside source — a Fashion Police writer — alleges that the only reason E! wants them to enter an election NOW is because the writers would be required to DROP their lawsuit against the network first.

The writers have drafted up an open letter in response, that reads as follows:

Since we Fashion Police writers went on strike last week our employer has falsely characterized the situation in the media as one which could be easily resolved if only those stubborn, unreasonable Fashion Police writers would agree to hold an election.

Here is our response to E!:

The only possible purpose of holding an election would be to determine if a majority of Fashion Police writers wish to be represented by the Writers Guild of America in this matter. That determination has already been made. A majority of Fashion Police writers have contacted the Company numerous times to indicate that they want to be represented by the Guild. A majority of Fashion Police writers have signed union cards indicating the same thing. And last week a majority of Fashion Police writers indicated their support by walking off the job in a collective action designed to force the Company to offer us, without further delay, a Guild contract. We are not interested in fighting over yet another means of demonstrating that we represent a majority of the Fashion Police writing staff. We are only interested in getting a union contract that would put a stop to our years of under-paid work and unpaid overtime and provide us with health benefits for our families. For the benefit of all concerned we urge you to stop dragging this out and contact our representatives at the WGA now to move this process forward.

Wow, E! sounds sooooo cheap! They are this big massive company making tons of money by airing shows that are super inexpensive to make…and they don't offer benefits and overtime pay to their writers??????

For crying out loud, they've done a good job and the show's doing well, so give them a proper and decent contract. What, if you work hard and create success, you get…nada?

Re: Ripp52 – It's not all scripted, most of what they say they have to go over. Especially Joan's jokes.

We support you Fashion Police writers! Keep serving up lies E!, we're not biting. Offer them a contract. E! is not the "little engine that could" it's a successful network backed by a behemoth company. Act like it and pay your writers a fair wage.
