Reese Witherspoon Is "Devastated" After Embarrassing Arrest But Finds Comfort In Family

reese witherspoon staying with family dui arrest

Reese Witherspoon must be feeling prettttyyyy shame faced since news broke detailing her hubby's DUI arrest AND her own drunken rant towards a police officer…

But thank goodness for supportive families!

One insider reveals:

"She is trying to lay low and spend time with her family. It's going to take her a long time to get over and she knows she let her family down. [She's] devastated."

Aww, poor thing!

But then again, it's hard to feel sympathy for someone who put multiple lives at risk while embarking on a drunken ride with an equally (or moreso) drunk driver.

However, sh*t happens, people make mistakes, we are only human after all, and as we said, thank goodness for supportive loved ones.

And hopefully they can support Reese while she attempts to curb her apparent dangerous drinking habits, before someone really DOES get hurt!

I wonder what she considers devastating - the embarrassment of getting caught, or the fact that she willingly put the lives of innocent people at risk?

  2. 2

I'm sure its the fact that sweet, cutsie sweetheart image just won't fly anymore.

Did you all forget that she was a passenger? Her husband is the one putting them and others at risk. All she did was be an idiot like we all have done.

How about the shame and embarrassment of her husband's DUI? No excuse for driving drunk when you have all the money in the world to hire a cab or a car.

Re: Boo – She got in a vehicle with a drunk driver. She could have refused and tried to stop him and found another way home. She is just as responsible as he is. And no, we have not all done that.

  6. 6

She put the lives of guilty people at risk!!!!

OMG all you people!! Have none of you ever done the same? Or driven yourselves? How about you, Perez? Stop pointing the finger and judging her! She is embarrassed enough, and that's plenty! Most people at her 'celebrity' level don't even care - they pay their way out of it and go their own way. At least she has the decency to be embarrassed, is laying low, and actually acting like what she did was wrong. NO one else does that! What about all the drugs Rihanna and Bieber and countless others do. They don't care and don't act like anything they ever do is wrong. Reese is a grownup, with children, and she is acting like it. So leave her the fuck alone. Point your finger at someone who deserves it.

    Re: rosebud99 – Getting caught.

Re: Boo – She still made a choice, and the fact that she got into the car with her drunk husband is a clear indication that she APPROVED of what he did and had no problem with it. HE isn't the celebrity, SHE is. So shut up.

Re: fancypants66 – I hope you get hit and maimed by a drunk driver, you stupid piece of shit. Celebrities should be made examples of, not excused. You should've been an abortion.

Re: rosebud99 – Yes Reese did get into a car with a driver (her husband) who was drunk and she could've refused to into the car and call a cab instead but, to be fair, Reese herself was drunk. When someone is intoxicated their judgment is severely clouded.

Re: nome – they weren't drunk when they started drinking. That is when they should have called to reserve a car or taxi to get them home. better yet, if you know you want to have a few drinks, leave the car at home.I don't EVER start drinking if I know I have to drive afterwards.
Fancypants66: Just because you and the people you know are degenerate low lifes doesn't mean everyone is.

She get's "DEVASTATED" easily….could you imagine how she would react to something that's actually DEVASTATING?

  13. 13

Reese "The entire world knows my husband is an alcoholic drunk driver and loser & I'm can't control my raging mouth; I'm firing my PR Team, it's their fault"

  14. 14

Why be devastated, in a hollywood world of celebrating bad behavior and poor choices you haven't even begun to skim the surface, Reese.

Driving drunk–or allowing your drunk husband to drive–is incredibly irresponsible and unbelievably dangerous.
I do have empathy for Witherspoon. Perhaps after she gets over her mortification, she can make something good from her transgression. Do some public service announcements along the lines of "friends don't let friends drive drunk." Or be a supporter/spokesperson for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).
At the very least, Reese Witherspoon can do a little soul-searching and ask herself why she married a man who is such a "big social drinker" that he may go into rehab. With two small children, she marries a man with a drinking problem? Sometimes people who like to "have one too many" are attracted to a guy who also enjoys drinking. Kind of like drinking buddies. At the very least, on this occasion, Witherspoon indulged in the same kind of irresponsible drinking that her husband is guilty of. Where will they be if they continue down this path together?
