I never took Khan as a white dude. Never even crossed my mind, as Khan in 1982 and his crew looked like the cast of Jesus christ superstar with Xanadu headbands.

I adore Mr. C's acting. Love Sherlock. However, there is only 1 Khan. The one I saw in '82. And Cumby ain't him.

I adore Benedict Cumberbatch. He's beautiful and an amazing actor. I'm sure he will blow me away with his performance in this film, can't wait. This man is seriously making me go mad.

Cumberbatch has an unearned ego the size of NYC and that puzzles me because he's an average talent at best. He's not as ugly as Perez, but he's close. As for Khan, that is and will always be Ricardo Montalbon. Cumberbatch is a pimple on that man's ass.

"Khan is an epic antagonist, but we aren't sure why producers replaced an iconic villain of color with a white dude!!" Khan wasn't a "villain of color" you ignorant piece of trash. The character appeared in the original Trek series (the SECOND stint was in the film), and Khan's "color" was never addressed, you fucking MORON.

thats because khan noonien singh was indian, his back story was that he was a kinda king after the eugenics wars he ruled like half the world or something, i cant remember exactly

but on the wiki entry for khan he is described as being definitively indian, plus i mean KHAN NOONIEN SINGH ??? kinda sounds rather indian lol … anyway back to my point cumberbatch is not playing khan its way before khan time in star trek chronology…. i mean they only just got the crew all together, people need to stopped gettin trolled so easily , john harrison is a new character jj abrams is trolling…

In the original 'Space Seed' episode there were '72' life suport canisters still functioning, representing Khan's crew, Why hasn't anyone on the many sites I've visited bothered to bring up that the '72 reasons' in the latest clip is eluding to that? It KAHNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Only a racist would point out that Khan is a white dude in this movie…

Re: Pansy Hunter – Khan Nunien Singh, played by a Mexican and clearly meant to be of Indian descent by his name (Singh is the religious surname of all Sikhs, a religion practised almost exclusively by Indians), tanned and brown-eyed, is clearly owed to the fact that Gene Roddenberry was anything but a racist: the "perfect" human is at least partly an Indian - a blow against all white supremacists.
Cumberbatch is an insult to the part.

In the original series, Khan Noonien Singh is stated as being Indian, and he is shown looking at old painting of himself in which he is wearing the Sikh turban. Also, the Star Trek novel "Khan Noonien Singh: the Rise and Fall" also confirms in detail that Khan is an Indian Sikh.
