NBC Keeps Cancellations Coming! Matthew Perry's Go On Series WON'T Go On!

matthew perry go on cancelled nbc

The peacock is really cleaning house this year!

NBC has already announced the cancellation of Whitney, Guys With Kids, Up All Night, 1600 Penn, and Deception in the past two days.

And now Go On, the sitcom we never saw but assume starred Matthew Perry as a grumpy but loveable wisecracker surrounded by a cast of adorable loonies, joins them.

So far, the only scripted comedy to officially survive is Parks & Recreation.

As for the fantastic but underwatched Community and The New Normal?

Guess we'll just have to wait and see…

Go On was a pretty good show, but it was competing against a lot of great shows on other networks so it didn't gain enough viewers. 1600 Penn also had a weak Pilot episode, so while it actually got much better and funnier, I think it lost some viewership (or didn't gain any). Parks and Rec is an amazing gift from God, so it's no surprise that they're keeping it!!

Bummer!!! I loved 1600 Penn and Go On! I agree, the pilot wasn't great for 1600 Penn, but the finale was soooooo good! :(

I'm just going to quit watching network TV. And to think I almost got cable. You get invested in a tv show and they just ax it after one season. Go On was funny and original…they should give shows at least 2 seasons…

I loved Whitney and Guys with Kids. Don't care for any of the other shows. I don't know who makes the decisions at NBC but they will probably renew a bunch of crap while the good ones get cancelled. Disappointing.

Community is already renewed and The New Normal is cancelled.

Aaaw, that so sucks! We loved Go On - clever and funny - is that how NBC decides to cancel stuff - take out the funny stuff, leave in the crap?? Ugh! Have had it with all these stooopid NBC Exec decisions - Go On was really funny… how can we make them change their minds? And 1600 Penn was good - was hard to find - they kept moving it around - and Whitney was always up against too many other shows, and we couldn't DVR it - they need to do a better job of show placement times… ugh! So annoyed! And I wanted to see the end of Ready for Love - they replaced it with some total crap NO one would ever watch - how does that serve their audience? Come on, NBC execs, leave Jay Leno alone, he's great, and keep the good shows…. pwease! lol!
