New Kids On The Block's Package Tour Discounted On Groupon! Tix Sales Not Doing Well?!

| Filed under: Music MinuteSad SadNew Kids On The Block

new kids on the block groupon

Well, this isn’t a good sign for New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men.

Groupon is offering a discount on their Package Tour tickets already! Selling at 25% below the original asking price, fans in New York can see the boys live at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for just over $50!

But this of course begs the following, slightly tragic question: is no one buying tickets to see the trifecta perform?! And even more importantly, does this mean the reunion tour could be the last go-around for NKOTB?!

Ch-ch-check it out the Groupon ad (below)!

We shudder at the thought!! We were just getting used to reunion tour after reunion tour! Perhaps their audience has finally outgrown them…

I have seen tickets by other artists go up on Groupon. Not sure if it's a promotional tactic or for low ticket sales. But this is not really news.

I just think they picked the wrong artists to tour with. When they announced NKOTBSB I screamed like a 12 year old. When they announced this tour, I was like, meh. Backstreet Boys were bigger then 98 Degrees 10 fold. Boyz II Men is an awesome group, but they appealed to a different group of people who liked a different genre.. I guess they can be billed as a boy band, but they played a different style of music. They were more R&B rather than pop or top 40. If NKOTB were to tour again with the Backstreet Boys, or even Nsync, ticket sales would sky rocket.

I agree this is not news. Perez has a known "feud" with Jon Knight and I think this is just an obvious dig. I recently bought Maroon 5 tickets on Groupon and I don't think it's because the tickets weren't selling. I bought NKOTB tickets at full price and their fans certainly have not outgrown them

They've been out of it for a while. Barclay's seats 14,500…maybe a smaller venue until they maybe build up a show following it their show is fun. The economy's flat for many.

    *if* their show is fun…

Re: WHAT? – Agreed. I was so excited about NKOTBSB and would go see the two groups together in a heart beat…but…while I was a 98 Degrees fan, they weren't ever my faves and I never really got into Boys II Men at all, that was definitely more R&B…so this one just didn't appeal to me all that much, especially since I've seen NKOTB recently. Of course as others have said, plenty of artists tickets sell on Groupon so it doesn't mean much…
