Dayum, gurl!! Get that trust, LOL!!
Shailene Woodley might need to worry about the wrath of Emma Stone in Amazing Spider-Man 2 (ladybird gets ALL up in Andrew Garfield's business).
But something tells us that's NOTHING compared to the shiz that's gonna go down in Divergent — the next big YA franchise to consume the world a la Twilight and Hunger Games.
We've been discussing the grandeur of this dystopian tale with you for a while now. It's not as dark as the Games, but it is epic dystopia. Throw in the tension-building romance of Tris (Shailene) and Four and well.. you've really got the perfect mix of the Games and Twilight on your silver screen.
In the latest new still (above), Tris leaps to what could very well be her death all in the name of the Dauntless faction.
Leaving her old life behind, she proves to her hopeful 'family' that she has what it takes to walk among them in their world of despair and f*cked-up-ness.
Director Neil Burger explains:
"In this photo she's already jumped off the train and onto a seven story building as part of the initiation rite for the Dauntless. The next thing they have to do is jump from the building and down through a courtyard that has a deep, black hole. It's terrifying."
He continues, explaining the danger behind filming such a scene:
"We'd been nervously planning it because it is dangerous and there's a lot of people on that roof. We had to pull it off safely and also pull it off cinematically, so you have this knot in your stomach as you watch this young woman decide to do this crazy thing. We had great weather that day and I think this scene really is emblematic of the movie: It shows the energy and the rawness of the way we're telling the story."
He also attests to the fact that Shailene really did stand on that frightening ledge for the film, proving her own dauntless behavior for the cast and crew.
Omggg…. looks like we got a badass here!!
The film has a reported release date of March 21, 2014. Bump into ya then!!
