Justin Bieber BOOED While Accepting Milestone Award, Insists He's "Not A Gimmick"!!! WATCH HERE!

| Filed under: PerezTVJustin BieberBillboard Music Awards

Eeeeee this is just SO awkward!!!

Justin Bieber had a VERY eventful evening during last night's Billboard Music Awards; not only did he catch a kiss from Selena Gomez AND put on multiple performances, he also won awards

One of which was the first ever Milestone Award for musical ingenuity and innovation!

BUT, it seems the audience was NOT very happy that Biebs beat out Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars for the title, as he was BOOED while getting up on stage to accept the award AND when he wrapped up his VERY defensive acceptance speech!

Ch-ch-check out the cringe-worthy incident (above)!

Ooooof, and you can tell that when the booing starts, people from Bieber's camp try and cheer louder to mask it, which only makes it worse.

Hmmm we wonder if this mass negative reaction to Justin be about a certain abandoned monkey? Or are people getting tired of hearing him sing the word "baby" for the 1000th time?

And are you kidding us with this speech, Biebs? Way to NOT sound in the LEAST bit grateful… he even sounds pissed when he's thanking people!

Siiighhh. Well, whatever the reasons for JB's super strange speech, we are NOT impressed. And neither, it seems, was the crowd.

Didn't watch the video, don't listen to Bieber but booing when someone wins an award is just bad manners. What is wrong with people? There is nothing I detest more than people who are disrespectful and poor losers. I see this all the time when my son plays sports and its obvious they learn it from their parents. Sad.

Not surprised he got booed… And than the boo's got louder when he said he's an 'artist." LMFAOOO. I don't hate this guy, but for someone who's only a year younger than me, he's so immature and stupid. How embarrassing of him to call himself an artist. "if i woz ur boyfrannn i neva let u gooo." LMFAO. He can't sing, he can't dance (he is literally the stiffest, most awkward looking dancer I've ever seen in my life), he can't write, he's very talentless and overrates himself. Look at Britney Spears at his age, she couldn't sing but she was performing circles around her competition (Slave 4 U VMA's, Opps I Did It Again VMA's, Madonna & Xtina performance VMA's), etc. This kid can't sing OR perform. Look at Usher, Justin Timberlake in his prime, heck, look at Chris Brown… These are performers, artists… Justin Bieber is a tool.

I know he is growing up in the public eye, but he was so cocky and full of himself. He's changing like all of us and we all made fulls of ourselves. My heart goes out to him for being judged, but I wish someone would guide him and give him better advice.

I hate his speechs. so boring.

  6. 6

Yeesh, he makes me cringe. Somewhere along the line, this kid really lost his shit. He was cute before, and someone just ruined him.
Maybe "he's not a gimmick", but it's time for him to go away. He's not inspiring anyone, and all his fans really need to set their sights on someone with a little more class.
Great example of what happens when you surround a kid with a bunch of people who don't know how to keep him in line, and just say yes all the time.
I feel bad for the monkey. This kid is an asshole.

It keeps getting worse! First time I heard them boo him was at the MTV European Music Awards each time he won something. He wasn't even at the award show. Then booing in Canada, US, Germany and again in the US. What's going on???

  11. 11

Kanye West called. He wants his attitude back.

Shit, the people is on to me and have understood that i am just a mediocre artist.
All my dance moves are copied and i dont perform them well. My songs is pure shit.
People has told me that i am one of the gratest, like michael and elvis, and my ego is so deranged that i believe it. The fall of Justin Bieber has begun and soon i will be doing drugs.

  13. 13

Re: common sense – Sorry, but NO! He is always goibng on and on about he is so "posituive" and about being positive and then he does this. Always saying he doesn't listen to the haters. Doesn't even thank his fans who got him there. HIs ego is WAY overinflated. And I am so sick and ired of hearing "I'm 19". That is not an excuse or explanaiton for ANYTHING. Yes, he was FAR more than the average 19 year old but that does NOT excuse being a complete big-headed jerk.

    14

this is sad. he is done. he should make a big media deal about getting that monkey back, because in hindsight, he will see too late that the way he abandoned that monkey, was the straw that broke the camel's back. it is a sad typical scenario, he fell right into the trap. allowed himself to be built into something that could be dismantled by others. his people should let him know…it is more than just the music, or the "craft" as jb called it. people want their artists to be accessible, not assholes. the sunglasses on stage, his crying out for his mama, hollering for Jesus Christ…yuck. would be nice to see him be a different kind of entitled white boy on his way to obnoxious manhood….would be nice to see him go away and come back like Justin Timberlake did. go away jb, get your monkey, quit the sizzurp, take the shades off, and go on a break. you are done.

I definitely think Justin has turned into a completely douche, but this was just wrong. You can see he felt bad when people started booing. So as ignorant as he may act … he still has feelings too :S I just felt so sorry for him.

  17. 17

He is not even close to being as talented as Bruno Mars. It is sad that people booed - but also understandable. But I did get a giggle out of watching him waddle up the stairs in those ridiculous pants.

His "craft", and a shout out to Jesus. Lolz.

  21. 21

Booing somebody is disgusting and unacceptable regardless of circumstances. However, if Justin wants to be respected as an artist, he needs to get a grip on things. People can't be expected to focus on the music if he's constantly getting into scandals and behaving badly. Maybe he will gain more credibility when he starts to show dedication towards his career and stop messing about. He has talent though and it's astonishing how much he has achieved in such a short time. But drop the attitude and start behaving. It's a two way process.

  22. 22

And elaborating further on what somebody else said, yes, he definitely does need more guidance and support to lead him in the right path, whether it be from his manager, girlfriend, or mother.

  23. 23

Musicians can be classified by their roles in creating or performing music . . he both creates new music and performs it! So he is an artist. . . . just because he's richer, more famous and probably better than 90% of us . . people are insecure and jealous! I'm a 20 year old fella and music is music lad! if you like it you like it, to each their own! but you're just sad! have you ever seen an acoustic by Usher? no because he can't sing live! Justin timberlake and chris brown yes good artists . . . justin bieber is as good an artist if not better than them! they were, in their prime, what justin bieber is at the moment! Saying he can't sing i find ridiculous. . . .you may not like him or his music but he can sing lad! and millions and millions of his fans around the world like the fact that he can sing so act your fucking age. . you're not a music critic! you're a nobody and will stay that way! as will I but atleast I'm not a jealous prick about it

Where was the real talent, like Maroon 5??

If I were jealous of people I'd be jealous of Channing Tatum, David Beckham, Collin Farrell, men who truly are very good looking, popular and talented. Justin Bieber is a joke and he always will be in my eyes. He's pre-mature looking, he's the stiffest most awkward dancer I've ever seen in my life and he can't write worth sh'it. I wouldn't even care about the lack of talent as long as he could actually sing, or dance well, or atleast be an incredible writer, but he has no talent in any area of his career and that's a fact. He isn't good looking either, unless you're like a six year old girl.

How is that when Kanye West makes Taylor Swift feel bad for winning an award everyone sees the wrong in his actions? Yet when tons of people make Justin Bieber feel bad for the same reason, they get away with it? Unnecessary cruelty on the part of the audience, I know I wouldn't have had the courage to even get up and even accept the award if that many people were booing me.

  40. 40

Justin is not my cup of tea, that being said, should he have been booed? Probably not, it IS disrespectful. I don't think it is about the abandoned monkey, so much as it is the plethora of random acts of douchebaggery that is causing him to lose fans, and be booed onstage. His speech came off as ungrateful and insincere. He didn't really thank his fans, whom ultimately voted him as the winner of that category. He also appeared to be high as a kite - I mean, did you see his eyes once the sunglasses finally came off? If you want to be taken seriously, make better decisions whilst in the public eye - because ultimately it is your fans, and the image you put out there that your reputation and fame depends on. Just my 2¢.

perez you are honestly such a low life, you get money out of talking about people.. i dont get it. justin bieber is a 19 year old, why is a man as old as you picking on him? when are you going to be mature enough to understand that any teenager his age isn't going to know how to react to this, and in his defense he said nothing wrong, so you need to shut your mouth because its full of bullish*t, he's a teenager, you need to grow up and give him some space. Imagine yourself on a stage with people booing you, what would you do? he's the most respectable kid I've seen, because after all this he said i love you all. You're a sick man. i thought gay people were nice. you're messed up in the mind, and this will honestly be the last time i will look at this blog of urs.

  44. 44

seriously? you're going to give JUSTIN shit for this? he's a 19 year old guy who just won this massive award and instead of people being happy for him, they boo him. right in front of him while he's accepting the award. how else do you expect a 19 year old to react? i think his speech is justified. sure he could have handled it a bit better but it was in the moment and he was shocked. the crowd was just disgraceful. you don't have to agree with Justin Bieber winning the milestone award but that doesn't give you the right to boo him for it, especially while he is currently going and accepting it.

  45. 45

never ever blow your own trumpet like that its really tacky. he should just begrateful he making all that cash without expecting to be treated like some credible artist. you never will be respected as a musical giant so just get over it, make your money while u still young & pretty coz it aint gonna last long past that :/

Fuck if I had left everything in the hands of nothing, instead of taking matters into my own hands on many occasions, I don't know where I'd be, but it wouldn't be good. God hasn't done shit for me, I did it all for myself, and occasionally with the help of other people. Living, material beings. There is no fucking way I would ever give credit to an unseen, unproven entity for what I, and I alone did for myself. That's the way everyone should look at things

  50. 50

I think booing someone (unless it's Chris Brown) is pretty distasteful. I mean, clap hard for the people you like, but then let the silence speak when someone shitty wins.
That said, he said all the wrong things. Just thank the fans for voting, talk about how much you love music, and then peace out. That's all he had to do to salvage the situation.
Yes, he's younger and had some crazy fame to deal with, but you can still show some maturity after his rabid fans voted him over (the more deserving) Taylor and Bruno.

Re: christinak123 – I agree two thumbs up! I think the fact that he was given a standing ovation before he even opened his mouth and spoke on stage is the real reason he was booed, this just sent his haters into a venomous rage. He finally got the recognition he deserves and his haters couldn't wait to pounce on him before he opened his mouth. This is first time the music industry actually got up on their feet and gave him a standing ovation. This probably what startled him and left him speechless. Can anybody blame him? But the world got to see him get recognized by Billboard. Every artist in the world dreams for their album to make it to #1 on the Billboard Charts. Justin Bieber has done it FIVE times by the age of 18. He doesn't need to apologize for his success and he has every right to stand up for himself and face his detractors down and say he is talented and an artist and only 19 and not to fixate on the bull as he said.

  57. 57

Re: john – You truly are an idiot if you don't recognize Billboard and it's influence in the music industry. Internationally recognized and respected. Billboard promised a major shake up and they delivered Big Time when they included YouTube clicks to be included among music streaming devices and digital downloads. For the first time in history unknown acts can make it to #1 by just appearing on YouTube instead of actual sales or radio play. Harlem Shake is the most famous example a #1 single in the U.S. you ever heard of it? The way people are consuming music is changing at a rapid pace daily and the music charts need to keep up with the times or lose their relevance. Justin Bieber got the 1st ever Milestone Award from Billboard because he truly earned it thanks to YouTube.

His speech was said that way because people were booing him. I think it was so disrespectful towards bieber. If someone is winning an award, at least have some respect for them. He is only 19 years old and has already accomplished so much in his lifetime and even with the haters, he is still going to be making music and in the spotlight. In my opinion, he is a great guy and for the amount of haters he has, he handles them very well.

  62. 62

Im so sick of this whining ass brat. Who the hell would take anyone seriously dressed like that? He'll be done in 3 years.

  63. 63

Wow…Can't believe the harsh words and sentiments. Isn't it interesting how we, as human beings, seem to take great delight in building celebrities up and then basking in a very odd type of glory when they falter? It doesn't paint a very becoming picture of mankind in general. Whether I'm a Justin Bieber fan is irrelevant. I will say that he may not go down as artist of the century but musically,he's progressed far beyond what I initially expected after hearing him perform the first time. His recent acoustic performance on SNL, was the first time I've been able to clearly hear his vocals and I must say that I was quite impressed. I prefer progressive/alternative/rock music but I appreciate anyone, regardless of their musical genre, if they possess legitimate talent. As I mentioned, all of the above is irrelevant -simply my opinion. Leave him alone already. The bashing is becoming reminiscent of precisely what took place as Michael Jackson spiraled downwards until he tragically succumbed to the pressure of not only realizing he was no longer the king of pop,but having to endure a life where he was crucified on every front. WTF? Despicable, heartless human behavior despite whether you feel Taylor,Bruno or Justin deserved the friggin' award.

    68

    Okay Perez,
NOT GRACIOUS? Because I think thanking his manager, his family and saying his fans are incredible sounds pretty damn gracious to me. He handled the whole situation a hell of a lot better than most 19 year old boys would have.
The fact that he held his own, still thanked God, and everyone who is important in his life WHILE BEING BOOED says A LOT about his character. He does not deserve the hate.
Now your site is hating on somebody that had to be humiliated on live TV. So good job with that. Let the kid be. Props to you Justin!

  69. 69

Justin Bieber didn't deserve the award. To actually deserve an award like that you must
    a) write your own lyrics (which he doesn't) b) write the music for those lyrics (which he definately doesn't) c) not use autotune (not 100% sure he does but honestly who doesn't now a days unfortunately) and d) try singing about something different for once. I'm tired of all this shit like baby ooohh baby I love you if I was your boyfriend I'd never let you go yadayadayada explain why there's a different girl in every video. Next time you want to call yourself an "artist" try doing some actual work on the song or how about all of the songs for that matter.

He's a KID, we were all kids once who did things we shouldn't have, actually I did way worse then him, you don't hear about that sh*! But I LEARNED from my own mistakes, that's what we teach our babies. Let the kid learn and have fun, let his mom and dad worry about the bullsh!% he causes, it ain't up to you media. YOUR THE BULLY in this! Stop bullying him! My child would have stuttered up on that stage from nervousness and feeling alone up there, i don't blame him, BUT then again I would never have left my child alone for the wolves to attack him if I thought he or she were in danger. Now F%#@ off and go make your money off an ADULT idiots!!!

Re: common sense – Bad manners? Half of the shit he does is a direct result of his 'bad manners'. Spitting on fans, sending his guards to beat people up because he's a coward, abandons his pets, pisses in a janitor's mop bucket? He's a boil on society, the music industry, and is an ungrateful little shit. Fuck that guy. I'm stoked he got booed.
