American Idol needs serious help! More importantly, it needs some judges!

While we’d love nothing more than to see Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson reunite — we can dream a little, can’t we? — it seems Fox and the show’s production companies are looking to bring former Idol contestants to the judging panel.

Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have reportedly been contacted, while Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken remain at the top of the list.

Contestant Angie Miller spoke out about this potential plan and said:

"I'd like to see a past American Idol contestant [be a judge]… They really understand what this process is really like and what you do during the week. [It should be] someone who gets it."

She does have a point!

What do U think, folks? Sound off below!

This show has two options. One, they could have two permanent judges and have a guest judge ever single week (like they do on So You Think You Can Dance), probably a past contestant or winner. Or, they could just end the show.

    Please no Jennifer Hudson. Boring.

Kelly & Jennifer would never do it because the show has become such a JOKE. Simon would never allow it because they are too talented.

Kelly Clarkson did an amazing job in "Duets", I would like to see her in"The X Factor" instead of "American Idol".

Re: vampire SUPERstar – That's a mean thing to say and Kelly is not that big. She is tiny in person and is probably in better shape than you.

Just let it go with dignity! wait, its too late for that….drag it through the mud some more than you can put this joke of a show out of it's misery.

We have seen how much 'superstar' judges help. Let's consider former Idols, and chose who have the most respect as a person, and some experience judging others. This puts it to Kelly and Clay, in my opinion.

Kelly, Clay and Jennifer. The biggest Idol successes of seasons 1,2 and 3. Perfect!

I can't stand Jennifer Hudson. She has no personality and she has a horrible attitude and I don't like her voice.

I would like to see Pink as a judge. I bet she would be entertaining to watch.

Its not about what judge comes in. It is about the legitimacy of the show. Standing ovations for mediocre performances and a idol winner who was called a lounge singer by Simon Cowell and who was not even in the top 40 in 2012. We all new what Idol wanted at the beginning of the show when no white men who played guitar was no where near the shows gates that the fix was in especially bad press and potential lawsuit by 9 previous black performers. If you can take a poll of America you would see when a show loses its legitimacy that's when fans tune off just as I did. Idol, watch what the Voice does and see the judges only stand when the performance is outstanding and the decision on the winner is partly on ITunes sales which us the audience invest in. Bravo the Voice and watch Idol getting flushed down the toilet.

The only former idol contestant who has the creds for this is Clay Aiken. He has judged at Carnegie Hall, NYC, taught a Master Class for the North Carolina Theatre and has judged on Star Search for David Foster. He has been on approximately 12 tours, done a very successful stint on Broadway, been on many TV programs, and his latest was his starring role in The Drowsy Chaperone at the North Carolina Theatre. His foundation which was started shortly after AI2 celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. He is a UNICEF Ambassador and a has spoken for GLSEN. He was on Celebrity Apprentice last year and came in 2nd although most thought he should have won. He was invited to appear on Face the Nation so his experience is very well rounded. He would make an excellent judge with his sense of humor and straightforwardness. Clay could make a difference.

Kelly Clarkson would be an awesome judge, and she is funny too. The best year of Idol was the first. She built that show and made it a success. She could probably save it at least for the year that she is on. But I need for her to sing every other week. haha. I love that freaking voice. She is amazing and has the best voice in music.
