Adam Lambert Speaks On American Idol Judge Possibility!

| Filed under: Jennifer HudsonAmerican IdolAdam Lambert

adam lambert american idol judge hopeful

Jennifer Hudson is in and Kelly Clarkson is out, but who will take the next seat on the American Idol judging panel??!

In an effort to squash season 12's horrific ratings, AI is looking to their OWN past contestants to boost viewership and Adam Lambert is absolutely up for the job.

In fact, the former Idol is SO excited at the prospect that he would accept an invitation to join the team on the spot.

The Whataya Want from Me singer said:

"Dude, if they called me, “I’d be like yeah. Where do I sign?” It would be very cool. It would be exciting. It would be a really cool opportunity to help people coming into the show and to help them keep their vision focused because it does become overwhelming when you get in there and there’s so many people telling you what they think you should do and your family, the producer, the judges, and all the other contestants that might be screwing with your head. I think it might be nice as a judge to help people stay focused. It gets crazy and to help them reach their dreams — it would be such a reward."

There ya have it!

Besides being one of the most successful winners' in the show's history, he's adored by his glamily so there would be a loyal bunch watching the show every week.

While he has a likable on-camera personality, he isn't afraid to bring a little sass to give his honest opinion, either.

Totally sounds like a smart move for business!

He is very articulate - I think he would be great. The question is - is it too little too late? Personally, I think they should have ended it about 4 years ago.

Nothing worse then watching a show wither and slowly die instead of being put out of its misery and cancelled. This show is a bad as x factor.

This show is going in the wrong direction. This will not fix it. Jenifer Hudson will be a horrible judge. She will be another kiss ass with nothing bad to say.

Re: lala – The show still make to much money for Fox for them to give up on it.

Will be watching AI again if Adam in one of the judges.

YES YES YES please to Adam as a judge <3

Well, thank you Perez you are finally making some sense and in a nice way too!

I wouldn't count on Adam bringing up the ratings. He was on the finale this year and it was the lowest rating ever for AI finales. They are going to have a really tough time bringing those ratings up…there is just too much competition with that type of show and they spent way too much in salaries these past couple of years. If Lambert is doing so well with his recording career( as his fans say) he really wouldn't have time for AI would he? He seems a little over anxious and that can't be good sign.

I think that it doesnt really matter much anymore who they put in the judge panel. People are sort of tired of the same thing over and over again and thus thats why its losing viewers.
They need a whole remake if they want to lift it, from the way they do the castings and present it, to the background and the whole stage, whatever. I think this ship is only showing the tip, the rest has sunk.

You actually called Adam Lambert "one of the most successful winners' in the show's history"? Are you fucking stupid? He didn't even win.

  11. 11

whoa they must be HURT-ING if they're asking losers like this embarrassing over-singer to host their show, wtf. well, minaj was bad, too, so i guess this is their last season?

If Adam is one of the judges on AI, I will definitely watch it!

  13. Lyndsay says – reply to this

Adam Lambert didn't win. He was a runner up.

I actually think Madam would be the perfect judge. Who better to guide the contestants on how to cope with their lack of careers or relevance after the show?s

  17. NE1 says – reply to this

that i'll watch, I was surprised he didn't this year, he might have had some chemistry with Mariah instead of that hatefest they had on instead.

  18. Randy says – reply to this

I adore Adam and think he would make a devine judge. He's the only past contestant who has the presence to really pull it off. JHud is lovely, but I think she'll be too nice and very dull.

Adam's more of a celebrity than a singer these days. He'd be good at showing contestants how to arrange for pap-pics at a restaurant or parking meter. He gets more press for that than singing.

  20. Veasnachan says – reply to this

I think that Adam is really make judge American idol next season , because his voice is very beautiful . I like to listen when he sings .

I like Adam Lambert. I always have. I'd watch again if he was on. I kind of doubt they signed Hudson despite was E! says. She is so unlikeable.

I only visit your site when you say good things about Adam. Amen. Please use your influence (I think you have some) to get Adam considered and not god forbid Clay Aiken. I was freaked when I heard this. He's trashed Adam almost as much as Perez. But thanks for the article. Adam would make a great judge and even better mentor. If they drag this out and don't choose him I'll be livid. I'll only watch if he's a judge. I saw the finale only this year because of Adam and he was awesome with Angie. Such chemistry between two very different people. Proves what he can do.

Re: ParisHilton – I agree they need to revamp it. Nothing will help. Adam won't increase ratings just singing a duet with someone. Maybe involvement over many weeks will help but I doubt it. some of his biggest fans won't tune in because they just don't care for the show. I would.

  24. jg says – reply to this

I think Adam would be a terrific judge. I haven't watched AI in about 3 seasons, but would tune in for him.

  25. janet says – reply to this

Re: tateration2 – No, your"re the stupid one. You don't have to win the title to be successful. If you look at Idol history you'll see the majority of success stories were runners up, not to mention Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson. Now where is the winner of season eight going these days? Adam Lambert was the best contestant that graced the idol stage.

  26. Nadine says – reply to this

Like Nicki Minaj, he is way too divisive of a personality.

  27. 27

I would start watching again if Adam were a judge on American Idol.

  28. 28

Adam didn't win Idol or anything else. He has no music cred unless it is to relate to the contestants how it feels to blow your big break and get banned from TV.

  29. adamfan says – reply to this

You're so right Perez. Adam would be a welcome addition to the judging panel.

Re: MasterClass – You're an ignorant dick.

  31. ambo says – reply to this

Re: Nadine – But he didnt win so him saying that he was one of the most successful winners is stupid. He should have said he was one of the most successful contestants or runner ups.

Adam Lambert was the best sinner the show has ever had, he would make an excellent judge and bring back me for one as a watcher!

  34. Brendon says – reply to this

"winner" Adam was the best winner Idol ever had! lol

  35. Joey says – reply to this

OMG, I hate Adam Lambert because I'm so jealous of him being so young, so pretty and so successful and now he might get Idol spot!!!

  36. 36

The only cool and talented former Idol is Kelly Clarkson, and she is not going to do it. The show is dead. They need to change it up or just cancel it. I have watched every season. It is time to call it.

  37. Slynnc says – reply to this

Re: barb – Doesn't say too much for JLo, Mariah, and Jennifer Hudson who were also on the show.

  38. Slynnc says – reply to this

Re: Supersasi – Now I like Kelly, but she is not the only talent. Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Daughtry, And several others aare also quite talented.

  39. Trisha says – reply to this

Re: barb – I agree. He has not been as successful as Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, etc. It would be a mistake to put him on as a judge. His career is stagnent and although he still has a few of those older women that were crazy about him when he was competing on the show. He marginized his own career with his outlandish looks and actions.

  40. Trisha says – reply to this

Re: MasterClass – So very true. He blew his chance and was trying to be a Bowie type of entertainer. However, he lacks the ability to sustain a music career. He still has those old women screaming for him at the small venues he plays and they help him pay the bills.

  41. Luz says – reply to this

Re: ParisHilton – Are you kidding me???????? Please have your head examined for Adam Lambert happens to be the best male singer ever. he should have won season 8 and as far as I am concerned he is the real winner of the show.People will tune in to see Adam sing or to give advice for he is also a good conversationist. so if you do not like his life style let me say that he has a right to live life as he chooses and that singing has nothing to do with his lifestyle.
