Tom Cruise Abandons Guy Ritchie's U.N.C.L.E. For ANOTHER Mission: Impossible!

Talk about development hell!

A big-screen adaptation of the '60s TV classic The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has long been rumored to be in the works, with talent like Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney's names attached at various points, but it had FINALLY seemed like production would be getting off the ground when Guy Ritchie signed on to direct and Tom Cruise agreed to star as Napoleon Solo!

However, the actor has reportedly thrown a wrench into the mix by dropping out at the last minute!

Sources close to the situation reveal that his reasons for leaving are purely due to scheduling conflicts, as he's set to begin work on Mission: Impossible 5 before the end of the year, and therefore, would need to get going on this one relatively soon if he were to be accomodate both projects!

Sadly, it doesn't look like that's going to happen, so he's out!

But hey! Once you've seen one Tom Cruise spy/action movie, you've seen them all, right?!

And apparently, the sexy Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer is still signed, so maybe all hope for this one isn't lost just yet!

What do U think?? Does the world need a remake of The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?

JJ Abrams is attached to direct Mission Impossible 5.

Tom Cruise hasn't been a believable actor for at least 10 years so it's a good thing for Guy Richie.

Saw the last half of "A Few Good Men" on Dishtv down in Mexico last week so he can play other parts - 2 Mission Impossible movies was enough. This comment is coming from an old lady who remembers the terrific original TV series of the same name.
Not sure why folks get excited about JJ Abrams.

With the USA becoming the mightiest (touchwood) nation on the face of earth; the KingKhan of Hollywood need not indulge in some substandard 'on the sly' role!

I don't watch his movies. I'd rather see any one else than him.

lol you guys are so pathetic and unfortunately stupid. Talk trash about him all you want…but go look at MI movies and see how much bank they made then talk about 'they should have stopped at 2'. In fact the latest one made the most money so ya I see why he left UNCLE to make MI5.Who wouldn't?

Tom Cruise is a great actor. Looking forward to the next MI. Yes, a Man From U.N.C.L.E. movie would be fun!
