Taylor Swift PRAISES Madonna's "Inspiring" Unpredictability! Quote Of The Day!

"One element of Madonna's career that really takes center stage is how many times she's reinvented herself. It's easier to stay in one look, one comfort zone, one musical style. It's inspiring to see someone whose only predictable quality is being unpredictable."

- Taylor Swift, on what she's learned from Madonna's career, to Billboard

She use to evolve and change but she has been looking and acting the same for many years now. I'd like to see her change it up more.

taylor is absolutely right… Madonna is the only artists that keeps focus after so many years. she could just stop and live for her money but no… this tour that madonna won that award was epic— so many messages… from human rights to anti war messages… MADONNA IS A GENIUS AND NOT AFRAID OF ANYTHING…. ALL HAIL THE QUEEN

Re: CaritaDeCleopatra – she recycles art from real artist and recycle ideas from real world leaders so she can sell them to clueless , souls like taylor fans

Re: mlington – OH, get your head out. She's not the *only* artist that keeps focus after many years. Incredibly narcissistic statement. I could list over a hundred but won't…but yes, Madonna has kept it going very well.

  16. 16

Will we see Taylor Swift change from "bubblegum country pop" to alternative rock? THAT would be a real change I would like to see.

Taylor is right! Most performers find a groove and never change anything. Madonna has always been very innovative. Like Taylor says–Madomna is unpredictable because she has always tried new things, something most performers are afraid or unable to do.

Re: Obnoxious_Joe – The New York Times named Taylor Swift's album Red the second best album of 2012 Not bad for an album written and performed by a 22-year-old. In fact– that's pretty damned amazing!!

  19. OhPlease! says – reply to this

Just more spoon fed garbage the young ones are spewing. Madonna is as predictable as they come. Same damn 4 on the floor beats she's been doing for 30 years, as well as one fake controversy after another. Nothing's changed. Sporting a new look every couple of years doesn't make you unpredictable or "reinventive," as the media likes to call it.

  20. Mark R. says – reply to this

the only thing madonnas ever changed was her hair color and clothes. She has always been predictable with her music/ She never ever changed her music it's always been dance music! I Can think of alot better artists to flatter than boring madonna !

  21. Ron says – reply to this

Madonna rules. The new generation admires her and it is good for Taylor to see Madonna's career in totality. So here's to more top tens and no.1 albums and tour to the undisputed Queen of Pop!

  22. Ron says – reply to this

Re: OhPlease! – Is there something similar with Evita, Ray of Light or Hard Candy? Is there not a huge difference between Madonna - the self-titled debut and MDNA? It's not just the hair color or the artistic references that differ in Madonna's mega stellar career. It's the lifestyle and her cultural impact.

  23. rtk816 says – reply to this

Madonna hasn't changed since the 80s. Besides, the best musicians of the world don't have to reinvent themselves…they're talent speaks for itself.

  24. 24

i dont meant to be awful but taylor dresses like a 50s houswife madonna is more 'hip than her… she only wishes she could whisper madonnas name

  25. guest says – reply to this

Re: mlington – Just that the messages were not helpful and not true because Madonna is naturally more superficial in her thinking. She doesn`t think things through thoroughly. She is not simply not suited for higher leading, she`s suited for lower leading. She should stick to who she is and have and do only things that belong to her!

  26. guest says – reply to this

Re: CaritaDeCleopatra – yeah, exactly. I wanted to say that. too. Taylor Swift is just not thinking for herself but is just repeating what the media`s been saying. But the media has not always the truth. In this case this is not true at all. Whenever there was a new trend Madonna just adjusted herself to that. When she came out it was Cindy Lauper, Debbie Harry and Pat Benatar, then after Britney came out Madonna`s style bacame like Britney`s and after Lady Gaga Madonna turned to that style including working with Stephen Klein others who helped Gaga doing that certain style. If this kind of behaviour is not predictable, than what is?

  27. guest says – reply to this

Re: OhPlease! – I love your comment! It`s so true!

  28. Only idiots Comment says – reply to this

Re: guest – Madonna has been working with Stephen Klein for longer than Gaga has been alive.. Also if it wasnt for Madonna there wouldnt have been Britney and dont get me started on one hit wonder Cindy Lauper they is no comparison..

  29. dina says – reply to this

"It's inspiring to see someone whose only predictable quality is being unpredictable" - This is what I think when I go to Taylor's concerts.

  30. James says – reply to this

I see some haters have taken the floor. No, Madonna has kept changing music, and is still years ahead of the others. And let's remember, 'Ray of Light' invented modern pop, and it's the album everybody would like to have written.

  31. OHPlease says – reply to this

    Re: Ron
"Is there something similar with Evita, Ray of Light or Hard Candy?
Yes…they're all one big bore. Any other questions?

  32. OhPlease! says – reply to this

    Re: James
"And let's remember, 'Ray of Light' invented modern pop, and it's the album everybody would like to have written. "
That's a full of shit statement that you need to back up (Madonna didn't invent anything), but seeing how crappy the state of modern pop is right now, you just might have a point. Seeing that you still use the word "haters," you're not one to be taken seriously.

  33. Mary says – reply to this

Re: pradagirl7 – Yes, you're absolutely right. RED sounds EXACTLY like her country music from her first album. 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' sounds so similar to 'Time McGraw', 'State of Grace' is like the exact same sound as 'You Belong With Me' and let's not forget 'I Knew You Were Trouble'… well that just sounds like every other song she has done. (obvious sarcasm).

  34. Mary says – reply to this

OMG GUYS FRED HASN'T COMMENTED ON THIS ONE. What happened? Perhaps he finally saw a therapist? Maybe his parents found his comments and banned him from his computer. Or maybe (dare I say it) he grew up… :O !!

  35. 35

Madonna should slam Taylor's predicability - beard for a closeted actor/musician and sing immature 13 year old bubblegum nonsense, mostly about her past "boyfriends"

  36. 36

Madonna is the MF QUEEN!!!!! She must be my lucky star.

Re: leon – Madge doesn't duet with the likes of whores like Swift…

  38. joael says – reply to this

Taylor is the best. I love this girl

  39. KC says – reply to this

    Re: TruthSpeaker
    But she does with Britney?

  40. Lin says – reply to this

The only reason she said something about Madonna was because the Billboard reporter asking the interview questions brought her name up. Taylor gave the typical safe answer everyone says about her. Stop acting like she's gagging over Madonna.

  41. ponpon says – reply to this

Lin - She talked about madonna bc she wanted too. a reporter brought justin name up too and she didnt answered.

  42. Mary says – reply to this

Re: TruthSpeaker – Bravo for knowing the sex life of someone you have never met. I'm sure she's a big whore, y'know, dating 6 guys at 23 and all… Even though there is no evidence of her sleeping around, leave it to your psychic abilities for concluding that she's a whore.

  43. Mary says – reply to this

Re: rebbiej – Oh yes, most musicians don't sing about their past relationships…. only 13 year old do that, I mean c'mon… So predictable of Taylor to write music about LOVE (really, who does that?)

  44. Jessica says – reply to this

Do you read this as a compliment towards Madonna? She is again doing that thing she does, using someone else's name to protect or flatter herself. She used Katie Couric's name to damn two other women to hell just over a joke and now she is using Madonna's name to say she is inspiring for changing it up and that is to those who complain she is no longer that curly-haired girl singing country music. It's easier to say Katie Couric said women who don't support other women go to hell and that Madonna is inspiring for changing her style musically,,, it's easier to talk like that instead of just growing some.

  45. 45

Re: Mary – Of course musicians write about their past relationships and love, thought I doubt she had relationships with Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhal, Joe Jonas et al. Her music is trite. She's 23 and still sitting on the bleachers.

  46. paul says – reply to this

Jessica - omg, stupidest comment I've read

  47. Mary says – reply to this

Re: rebbiej – Perhaps you've only heard her radio singles. Take a listen to songs like 'State of Grace', 'All Too Well' 'The Lucky One' 'Safe and Sound', etc…just to name a few.

  48. KC says – reply to this

    Re: ponpon
A reported didn't just "bring up" Madonna's name. He asked her a direct question about her.

  49. KC says – reply to this

    Re: Jessica
Again, she didn't "use" Madonna's name. She was asked a direct question about her and she answered. The transcript of the interview is on Billboard, if you care to or can even read it.

  50. ponpon says – reply to this

KC - A reported asked her a direct question about justin too and thank god she didnt answer that.
