American Idol’s Ship Sinks Even Further?? Cancels 2013 Tour Dates!

If American Idol is trying to save face…well, it appears they aren't.

After last season’s ratings hit an all-time low, Idol cut back their post-season concert tour by A LOT.

This past season’s winner, Candice Glover, and ten other Idol-ers were all set to kick off their much deserved summer tour of 40 venues at the end of this month.

Now their tour won’t begin until the end of July, and will only hit 75% of those intended venues!! This is majorly sad news, especially for the contestants!

A spokesperson released the following statement:

"Due to production scheduling changes, theAmerican Idol 2013 Tour will now begin on July 19th and go through the summer until August 31st. The Idols look forward to performing in 30 venues across the country."

Sounds like not only the show has suffered, but ticket sales might be hurting as well! Which is weird, because people are still getting into knife fights over the results so the passion is definitely still there!!

Is competition from X Factor and The Voice just too darn much??

Is this the beginning of the end???

It has nothing to do with their competition from the X Factor and The Voice albeit they are more interesting versions of the concept. The problem lies with the producers unable to stay current and fresh with their core audience, one word, "Harry Connick Jr" really?
Year after year it;s like watching the same bad movie, Beatles week, Elvis week, motown week…etc, etc BORING! The crappy, gutless judges are unable to give an honest opinion since Simon's departure.
