Al Pacino Claims He Turned Down Major Roles In Star Wars, Die Hard, Pretty Woman, & More!!

Al Pacino is one picky actor!!!

Throughout his career he’s turned down many HUGE roles that others have then snapped up and made into careers!

For instance, he turned down the role of Han Solo in Star Wars back in the day, saying:

"Star Wars was mine for the taking, but I didn't understand the script."

Fortunately, since they're currently working on the Star Wars re-makes, he still may have a chance to redeem himself!! Maybe he can compete with Florence Welch for the role of Yoda, ha!!

He also claims to have turned down Bruce Willis’s role in the Die Hard series, multiple roles in Apocalypse Now, and Richard Gere’s part in Pretty Woman.

Al jokes about this massive laundry list of epic losses, saying:

"I'm not a very good judge of what's good."

Well, Al, that’s not entirely true. You’ve still got several Oscars under your belt along with prominent roles in The Godfather and Scarface!! Not too shabby!

Still though. Can you imagine all the male leads who may not have been famous if he hadn’t turned those roles down??

Pacino is just REALLY generous, ha!!

Re: nicoal – Me too, he was great in Godfather, but in later movies (last I can remember seeing him in is Scent of a Woman), he really chewed the scenery. Although that is partly the director's fault for letting him do that.

Re: netopiaRe: teeter totter – I just think he goes way over the top in most of his roles.
