Game Of Thrones: Who Should Win? Vote Here!!

| Filed under: TV NewsPollsGame Of Thrones

game of thrones poll who will win

Immediately after Sunday's episode of Game Of Thrones, social media was overwhelmed with fan outcries all thanks to that infamous Red Wedding scene!

While we felt their pain, it also brought the HBO show’s main conflict to light. This is all out war. Anything can happen, and justice isn’t necessarily what we hope it’ll be.

The battle for the Seven Kingdoms rages on as the factions and enemies grow in number. But of all the characters in the running, we currently find ourselves intrigued by Daenerys, Jon Snow, Tyrion, and Arya. They’ve roughed it throughout all three seasons, dealing with their personal troubles as well as those thrown at them by their opponents. And as the Season 3 finale looms, we're hoping and dreaming that all four survive it, LOLz!

Why? Cuz we want one of them to win, duh!!

That said, no matter how you feel about the current state of affairs within the Game universe, take our poll and tell us who you want to see sit on the Iron Throne!

People voting Daenerys probably never read the books because she would make a terrible leader. And I think you sort of miss the point of the series by voting who should win. And if you know anything about the story then you should know it doesn't get any easier for any of these characters. Or any character, for that matter.
But if I had to choose someone for the Iron Throne it'd be Stannis Baratheon with Ser Davos as Hand of the King. Even though the show tries to make him into more of a villan, because if you aren't a Stark or Tyrion in the show you must be bad.

only 4 options? theres more than that to choose from that are fighting for the throne

  3. 3

If you know anything about the books, and I have 'cheated' and peeked… there are no winners. The story isn't even completely finished yet but it's obvious none of the people we see here will sit on the iron throne. of course again Martin isn't finished but I doubt he'll end it in a nice clean resolve.

Stannis should win and the fact he isn't included here is insulting.
Daenerys is a terrible rule, much in the way of Robert, being as she is good at winning people's hearts but terrible at leading them.
Jon Snow is in the fucking Night's watch.
Arya has no chance in hell.
    Tyrion is Tyrion, enough said.

The show makes Dany seem pretty flighty and indecisive, but she's much better in the books. She had the intuition to step into a pyre and hatch the dragons, she survived even after being abandoned by all the strong dothraki after drogo's death, made it across a desert, got an army by being clever, and isn't afraid to kill when it's just. Stannis is just owned by that red bitch and her god. The books aren't done and one of those four is already dead anyway.

Re: canolan91 – The show very closely follows the books, so yes, it actually IS relevant tinting them up in this context. And looking at your grammar here, it certainly wouldn't kill you to do a little more reading yourself.

Other than that, I agree with the other posters. Stannis is the top contender, both in the books AND the show. Why leave him out, Perez?

Those of you saying Daenerys would be a terrible leader don't really realize that it is ENTIRELY dependent on what you define a good leader by. she is an EXCELLENT leader, if she wasn't she wouldn't have the following she does both in the series and by fans. The outcome as to who takes the Iron throne (if anyone) in the end hasn't been written. But out of all these choices, Dany is the best one by a long shot out of anybody.

Stannis would ultimately be a bad choice, he can't think for himself and is always blinded by the judgement of others. So no, he has absolutely no good reason to win lol. Plus his character is just not very likeable.

You're also forgetting that Sansa becomes a pivetol character for House Stark in the coming future, if you've read the books you know that her evolution is quite phenomenal and ultimately she is a great contender for both the Throne of the Northern Kingdom, and Iron Throne in the long term.

Re: Heather – Actually it only follows the books in foundation, there's some dramatic changes that happen, and characters (like robert) who are brought to the forefront when they were more like a side thought in the books. And Talisa who never even existed in the 1st place, and the unborn baby who didn't exist in the 1st place, and the fact the red wedding didn't happen until after Sansa married Tyrion.

And then the part where Ygritte didn't shoot Jon Snow for running off, and the part where she didn't die in the fight like she was supposed to…I could go on but I don't need to. No, George R martin has clearly stated that he's almost completely re-writing portions of the story explicitly for the show because he's treating the show as a do-over for his series in many ways, and only keeping the foundation and core of specific characters in-tact.

Re: Valentina – In the end, should Dany not take the throne that is rightfully hers in the 1st place (which, I think ultimately she will.) then I would like to see Sansa continue to evolve as she will be (and has been in the books), and potentially take the throne, in the worst case scenario that Dany doesn't.

I don't agee with you Denerys just like Robb made mistakes but she cares about her people. And I think Stanis would accept her as Queen, since he doesn't really want to be king he's doing it out of duty.
Anywa,Stanis can't win with his red priest and his fake sword…

Re: Valentina – Robb, not Robert. Talisa is based on Jeyne Westerling, but both are ultimately only plot devices. Ygritte doesn't get killed until the battle at the Wall.

  15. read the books says – reply to this

You stupid shit. read the books, jon is murdered and tyrion kills his father so is basically an outlaw.

  16. 16

Re: salad – We don't actually know if [one of these 4] is dead, do we ? I can't remember, and I'm too lazy to go grab the book. I mean, from what I remember, [blank] is probably dead, but it was not actually written.

I think it's pretty clear that Daenerys is going to "win". She's the only legitimate heir to the throne, and she's the freaking mother of dragons.
Stannis has his merits, but does he really want to rule ? Meh. I'm not convinced. He's the second most legitimate, but I don't think Martin will put him on the throne. In my opinion, it does not really matter who "wins" in the end (maybe because it's been clear to me from the beginning that Daenerys would), it's what happens in between.

And I agree with those who support Sansa. She used to be pretty damn stupid and useless, but I like her a lot now. But making her rule the seven kngdoms ? Nah.

  17. 17

    none of the above, Stannis.

  18. cartoongal says – reply to this

sick_girl: stannis is the legal choice, the "proper", but his brother stole the throne and was accepted, so im sure that whoever gets it in the end will be accepted by the people regardless of right. but having said that, my brother and i (he introduced me to the series 5 years ago. i read those books twice a year i love them so much.) believe it will be daenerys with her consorts jon & Aegon Targaryen. they will rule and unite westeros. a dragon for each, dragons blood in each. its called a song of fire (targaryen) and ice (snow).
as well the first book is called Game of thrones. and while you may believe perez missed the point, someone does win in a game after all.
lastly i dont think the writing on the show is as black and white as that. (everyone is bad unless u r a stark or tyrion?) everyone on that show is grey, including stannis. tyrion isnt the nicest of men and even the altruistic jon snow has done some terrible things. you should be excited that such a marvelous piece of well written fiction has taken north america by storm. i mean it was an absolute delight to see peoples reactions to the red wedding on conan obrian, when grrm was a guest. and i think its wonderful that i can have this debate with you online.
not to cut you down, but to point out the postive. anyways thats just my two cents.

  19. mary says – reply to this

Oh no, not Daenerys people! :( If you take away her dragons, then what's left?
The others I get. Tyrion is clever, he thinks before he acts. Jon has honor and loyalty. Arya can shield a sword and because she's seen injustice/cruelty she'd be much fairer to her people.

Only including four options is stupid. Stannis should win at this point in time because he has the best claim to the throne.

  24. 24

everybody is voting for the hot blonde
she is the most boring character on the series

  25. jaloooo says – reply to this

Daenerys seems to be winning the poll. Well, she's really good at winning Essos people's heart, as well as the viewers'. So, it's clearly the reason why she's leading. But a great leader must make decisions and make without advisers. I'm a fan of Dany, but the rightful should take the throne. Stannis should reign.

  26. Luke says – reply to this

Re: Valentina – Are you going to cite a source for that extraordinary claim? From every interview I have seen, GRRM is saddened by the changes, but is seasoned in how adaptations must work.

Oh, and that was not the fight where she dies, nor where Jon realises he is shot. To viewers it would be confusing to see him shot through the leg and not reacting. Also, Sansa and Tyrion married in 'Second Sons', so RW was after their wedding in the show.

  27. Elle says – reply to this

So, I'm sure you know some of your options don't make it….. sucks for sure. But my impression is it has to be a triumvirate, one person riding each dragon. I hope Aria makes it, Tyrion definitely is a survivor. But new characters have been introduced in book 5 and remember Sansa is married to Tyrion. I say Sansa and Tyrion for the win because Stannis is dependent on the Red Witch and we must have separation of church and state, unless the church is hero worship in which case Daenarys, but she can't have kids so Tyrion and Sansa to rule.

the thing that bothers me most about this is that arya and jon wouldn't be pitted against each other, at least as far as i know (not having read the books yet).

  34. Samuel says – reply to this

None of the people listed will win. I am truly convinced Sansa will win

  35. Natali says – reply to this

Re: canolan91 – Actually the books are incredibly relevant to the show considering George R R Martin plays a huge role in the show and everything that goes on in it, he's even helped write some of the episodes for the show. He also already told the producers how it's all going to end. So while the book characters and show characters have some small differences, they are in fact the same characters and highly reflect the book, so just stop.

  36. Natali says – reply to this

Re: xFaust – While I like most of what you said, Dany is NOT the only legitimate heir, actually she's second best, if you read the books you'd remember that there is someone who has a better claim than even Dany, though he doesn't have an army or dragons, in the end he might even team up with Dany, but right now his claim is better than hers, it's just a matter of revealing who he is and I don't want to spoil it for these people but there is someone else.
