scarlett johansson sues french author name use

What did you think would happen when you crossed the Black Widow?!

A French author is finding out firsthand what kind of combat skills Scarlett Johansson possesses. Legal skills that is!

The Avengers star is suing Gregoire Delacourt for using her name without permission in his novel The First Thing We See.

In Delacourt's book, he describes his leading lady as looking like Scarlett Johansson. The problem is, he didn't ask her first, which ScarJo and her legal team consider "breach and fraudulent use of personal rights."

He wanted the Scar? She gave him a scar! Ouch!

The bestselling author says he is shocked, and that he also compared his characters to Gene Hackman and Ryan Gosling!

Mon ami, we're thinking you're only going to make it worse! Did you see Drive? You don't want RyGos after you either!

Sounds like Scarlett Johansson needs to get over herself.

What happened to her face? She used to look so pretty and natural.

You mean to say, Perez, that a writer cannot use certain words, or mention certain names - which are part of reality - in the course of a NOVEL ?
Scarlett will never win. The judge will laugh in her face.

So basically no writer can liken the appearance of a character to a living person? I agree with Tom, Scarlett seriously needs to get over herself. I have never been a huge fan of ScarJo, the woman CANNOT act, but this is just straight up ridiculous. To be honest, my mind is somewhat blown that ScarJo and her team even think there is a case here!

This is too ridiculous and she's going to lose because she is a public figure and her name is not prohibited from being used. Good luck with that lawsuit.

I think this denotes lazy writing by the author, especially when he could have made more of an effort in describing the character by using a few adjectives. Still, I absolutely agree that this person shouldn’t be reprimanded for mentioning a public figure in his novel.

lame. why do celebs continue to disappoint me right after i decide to like them? This is so stupid. She should be flattered that anyone cares to mention her name anywhere. It's good for business. Forget it, now i don't care to know what happened in Budapest or anything else she does because I'll only be seeing her throwing a hissy fit about this every time she appears on my screen. Scarlett Johansson has that cute little pig nose that my actual little piglet has. Oh watch out, she might sue me.
