America’s Got Talent Singer, Kicked Out By Parents For Being Gay, Stuns With Performance!

So inspiring!!

America’s Got Talent welcomed 20-year-old Jonathan Allen to the show’s New Orleans auditions yesterday, and boy, were they in for an emotional few minutes!

The very talented singer took to the stage to perform a STELLAR rendition of Andrea Bocelli’s Time To Say Goodbye, but it was Jonathan’s backstory that melted our hearts before he even grabbed the mic.

This youngin’s parents forced him to move out of their home on his 18th birthday because they disapproved of his gay lifestyle. So horrible!

Jonathan explained:

“My parents, they didn’t really support my lifestyle… I haven’t seen my parents in about two and a half years. I love them with all my heart. I don’t know if they still love me. It’s been difficult and music is what makes me feel like I belong.”

He added:

“In my darkest moments I can escape through music. I want them to see what I’ve done with my life, and I’m not a bad person for being who I am… I want them to see that. I just hope I can make them proud.”

Following his performance, judge Howie Mandel told Jonathan:

“Your own family disowned you, but with your talent, this show has become your family, and we'd like to say ‘welcome home. We love you. We accept you. And we're so proud that you came here.’”

Ch-ch-check out his AH-MAZING performance (above)!!

We just hope his parents were watching!!

What shtheads. TO have a perfect and healthy baby boy and to abandon him is awful! I WISH I had someone so perfect in my life. Maybe if they had a kid with real disabilities they'd appreciate his perfection

All brilliant thoughts start with the word probably, to indicate that you are just wildly guessing and have no actual clue.

Oh brother, and you say you're not a militant gay?

  5. 5

And how many idiots on shows like this say something to get votes?

Whether or not this is a publicity stunt, it sheds light on the actions of so many terrible parents. This happens! People actually do this to their children! If you are not prepared for your kids to be their own people, with wants & needs that differ from or oppose yours, then you are not suitable to be a parent.
For the record, I believe this kid's story.

    Re: Team Amanda
Jonathan recently got a job at my work. This is his real life. He is a genuine person with a good heart and an amazing talent. Although I can understand the skeptics to a point, this young man does not need anymore people trying to put down his beautiful spirit.

He should just look to the future not think of those awful parents. If you're not willing to accept your child's orientation, then don't become parents.

Re: ashton – haha, u r great. I agree…'team Amanda' has NO clue what she's talking about….she's so ashamed of her own life, she tries to take her anger and hatred out on others.

Re: Team Amanda – ok, yes there could be a chance of a lie here because the world is full of them…. but it very well could be the truth and them just want an inspiring and positive story out in the world FOR A CHANGE. so…. Why you jump to the negative? blahhhh, thats gross of you to do. In the words of Amanda…… "Ur Ugly"

Re: Team Jonathan – A similar talent competition in Asia hyped a homeless guy with a parallel story, and parts turned out to be untrue later, so skeptics are gonna skeptic. Back to the important bit tho…he has wonderful tone, range, resonance, and feel for the song. Good luck to him. Just go out there and give her.
