The numbers are in and the big question is finally answered... Well, kind of!
Was The Interview a success?
So, how much, exactly, did it make for Sony?
The outpouring of condolences for the late and boundlessly great James Gandolfini hasn't just come from other actors who were lucky enough to work with the gentle giant. They're also coming from his neighbors.
Above is a picture of the impromptu memorial that has begun to materialize outside of James' NYC apartment. It's not hard to figure out why many from his neighborhood are taking his loss hard. Unlike the violent mob boss he portrayed, James Gandolfini was an upstanding man, in front of the camera, onstage, and in real life. One neighbor called him "a nice neighborhood person, who also happened to be famous." Others recount him walking the family dog, being friendly, or just asking them "what's going on today?"
The memorial has so far been comprised of flowers, candles, and the odd piece of Sopranos memorabilia, which we think is a tribute Gandolfini would have sincerely appreciated.
Once again, our thoughts are with his family.
