Paula Deen Gets Cut Like Butter From The Food Network After Issuing 2nd Apology! See It HERE!

| Filed under: Business BlitzPaula Deen

Gurl has been canned like Chef Boyardee!

Paula Deen has been caught up in a whirlwind ever since admitting to using the N word, and now it's all come to blows as she has been let go from the Food Network!

The network issued a statement about the decision:

"Food Network will not renew Paula Deen's contract when it expires at the end of this month."

Guess TWO apologies from Paula weren't good enough…

…which we're not too surprised to hear considering her first one was questionable enough to warrant a second one.

The second video (above) addresses the racial slur usage AND her skipping out on the Today show.

What do YOU think about how this is ending??

JEEZE, cut her a break. Its Just a word. A bad word nonetheless. She is from a different time and place (the south). You should of heard some of the things my dad said, and he friend, Not said with malice. Blown way out of proportion with Political Correctness..

  2. Dede says – reply to this

This is crazy! Everyone has used that word before! This poor lady is being crucified.

  3. el says – reply to this

I think she knew better and is too old to making those kinds of mistakes…they are NEVER mistakes when you use the "N" word…JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE…So sad to see racism still alive in kicking in 2013. CANT BLAME IT ON THE SOUTH!!! Food Network did right by not renewing her contract.

  4. Adam says – reply to this

This is ridiculous. I'm not condoning the use of racial slurs, but for people that grew up in a different era than us, it's more than difficult for them to change and they don't think anything of it when they use certain terminology! I think it should and could have been handled differently.

  5. 5

She should have been cut years ago! Her food is so unhealthy and downright disgusting.

  6. nationalenquirer says – reply to this

Did Perez ever post a video apologizing to the gay community for his use of the F word ?
    Huh ?
    Did he ?

  7. boston61 says – reply to this

Poor Paula. But is just fine to call white people every nasty name in the book and to expect white people to pay your bills. Where is my caucasian support group. Where is my white pride group? Enough is enough. Why is that NOT okay???????????

  8. boston61 says – reply to this

70% of black children are born to single mothers in this country. Who pays the bills?

  9. keeyth says – reply to this

You have a kunty way of reporting. uggg, I so wish someone would just knee you in your balless crotch.

  10. 10

while i don't really like paula deen for other reasons, i think this is total BS and think it was a major over reaction by the food network

  11. 11

Re: boston61 – You sure don't. You must be trying very hard each year trying NOT to pay income taxes.

  12. boston61 says – reply to this

Paula worked her butt off to get to where she is. No famous last name. Her only "in" was hard work unlike 90% of the rest of the Giada De Laurentiis and Anderson Cooper silver spoon entitlement babies that are everywhere in popular culture.

  13. boston61 says – reply to this

    Re: overthere

You must be one of those proud single mothers who baby daddy does not love her enough to marry her. What a sucker you are?

  14. mediamessy says – reply to this

Re: boston61 – wheres your white pride group? Everywhere. Wheres your white supoirt? When have Caucasians been crucified in this country? You should be proud and celebrate your culture everyday, wherever your ancestors come from. Since when is it hard being white? I get in rare instances you may get passed on because of your skin color but the struggle is hardly the same. If you feel like you're not being celebrated then do something about it. Gather your fellow Irishmen, polish, north atlantic, european fellow jrothren and have a frickin parade you twit.

  15. Kristina says – reply to this

Paula's food is delicious…I never cook it because I want to live to see another birthday. I think the Food Network overreacted to this. Don't you think she is humiliated enough? You took her job away. A little harsh, me thinks.

  16. thebigboot says – reply to this

Anyone remember the number 1 hit "N*ggas in Paris"? Oh that's right, blacks can say it. That's ridiculous and hypocritical, it's either bad or it's good. Don't do this crap it's only ok if my people say it.

  17. thebigboot says – reply to this

Shame Lil Wayne won't lose contracts for stomping on the American flag but Paula gets cut for saying something 20 years ago.

  18. Mark says – reply to this

As a black man, it sucks so much because I looked up to her so much because she seemed to always embrace the black community in her show and her restaurant. I applaud her for not being around the bush, this video broke my heart…her spirit is shattered…she made a mistake…lets allow her to grow from it.

I am sad that the Food Network won't keep her around, but it is for the best. I wish Paula nothing but the best, I just know that in her heart, she never meant to ever hurt anyone…Paula, I forgive you, now it is time to forgive yourself and move on. You have a wonderful family…friends…and loyal viewers who will stick by your side no matter what. :)

  19. pretty4261 says – reply to this

umm hello folks. it's not because she said it in the privacy of her own home. she was deposed for using the language in a place of employment. it's offensive and creates a hostile work environment, not to mention completely unprofessional! if someone called you a honkey, peckerwood or a pinktoe at work, wouldn't you be upset? especially if it was your boss who is of color? she WASN'T singing a hit song "n—as in paris"

  20. TheGypsyDove says – reply to this

Paula for get the Fool Network (sp) LOL ! Got to "OWN" I know Oprah will welcome you with a open heart & mind.

  21. It's so true says – reply to this

HAHAHAHA! I work at the welfare office and every other word out of black trash mouths is the n word. The n word is now the official hello among the black trash crowd.

  22. thebigboot says – reply to this

Re: pretty4261 – It can't be too offensive if blacks use it. Rap songs have it, perhaps people should stop being hypocritical with the word!

  23. Trista says – reply to this

Re: Mark – I kinda love you :) I'm a white girl from New England and am very liberal I was saddened to hear Paula deen had said those things since, like you, I always admired her seeming openness and acceptance towards other races but I think it's good she acknowledged how she hurt people and she seems genuinely repentant. No one is perfect my aunt was African American and I'm named after her I don't take racial slurs lightly but it seems as if she doesn't either. I think your comment was quite eloquent :) best wishes!

  24. 24

This is absurd. She's being fired for using a word that you would find 10 times in every stanza in a Lil Wayne song. People need to understand that growing up in the South when she grew up was very, very different than your own background might be.

Don't get me wrong, I do think this country is moving in the right direction, but it's kind of scary to think about the fact that you could be fired from your very, very successful career you spend your whole life creating just for saying something in private to someone who is close to you.

  25. 25

She should know better to use that word in the work place..I'm sure Food Network had no choice they don't want to be associated with that and have back lash and lose ratings which is what it's really about always about $$$. The N word gets thrown around so much now a days it's how people say hi to each other which is sad.

  26. jan says – reply to this

I wonder if one person , white, black, Hispanic, can say they have NEVER used a racial slur in their lifetime. And that includes Wendy Williams. I am not condoning the use of these words, but let us all be honest and not be a bunch of hypocrites.

  27. 27

People will forget what she said but if they had kept her on they would have lost money. If you have FU money you can say anything but if you have to work you need to STFU until you do. Her old racist ass should have known that.

  28. ericmtl says – reply to this

    That poor woman.

  29. thebigboot says – reply to this

Re: DoinME – So you're discriminating against her for her age? Isn't racism is wrong but discrimination isn't? You hypocritical bully you. By the way, explain to me how stomping the American flag is fine?

  30. jan --) says – reply to this

I do not think that there is one person, white, black, Hispanic, etc. that has never used a racial slur in their lifetime. Be it once or many times. And that includes Wendy Williams. I am not condoning racial slurs, but we need to honest with ourselves and not be hypocrites about this issue. it is like millions of people throwing rocks at glass houses.

  31. biznaz says – reply to this

Rappers say it, why is that okay? It's not. Gay people don't call themselves the F word because they don't want others using that language. This is all complete bullshit.

  32. SP says – reply to this

Absolutely ridiculous. This is such a double standard. Why is it okay for rappers to say it in their derogatory songs and not one person doing anything about it, but when she uses it privately all hell breaks lose. unbelievable

  33. Mr Pete says – reply to this

    Oh please
Paula admitted that she used words that are not politically correct, while giving a deposition
I will venture to say that 98% of us have used words or jokes, that are not politically correct, to close friends, family members, in rage, at one time or another
For the Food Network to drop her is just dumb
Paula is a survivor, she is worth MILLIONS, and because of that fact alone, she has been
dragged into court by some money hungry lying POS

  34. 34

Re: keeyth – I wish the same to you.

  35. SEAN says – reply to this

  36. 36

Re: thebigboot – I never said anything was wrong. Lil Wayne won't lose any money but the reality is a lot of people will just change the channel if they see Miss Piggy churning her butter and that means the Food Network would have lost money. She is stupid

  37. 37

Re: Mark – Shut up Mark! She only "embraced" us because she wanted to trick us into eating all that butter and kill us off slowly. No, I'm just playing. But I never liked her. She seemed so gross and scary. Eating all that butter. And that gag worthy doughnut burger. I do feel sorry for her though. She's old. Just let her have her little show.

  38. bigbob says – reply to this

Ridiculous , especially considering the corrupt, ineligible, anti-American President we have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. A says – reply to this

funny cause perez never issued an apology for using the word "f***got…" paula deen is a really sweet woman and they're blowing this up because shes in the media. EVERYONE says the N word once or twice, I even hear it in day to day conversation. young teens address friends as "n*gga" now, it's just what happens. in attempts to be politically correct, they're blowing a situation way out of proportion. she issued an apology and i think thats more than fair. she has worked with black people on her TV show many many times, and clearly she displays no racism or hatred towards black people. get a grip and give her the show back. she's still a popular cook, TFN is losing lots of money by doing this.

  40. 40

She's just not a very bright lady. We are living in an extremely politically correct society right now!

  41. 41

put her out to pasture they prob just wanted rid of her

Re: mediamessy – Hey asswipe! You are racist group of American(Africa)
This is the ONLY country with problems from the black race(Slaves) This was the not the highest slavery country and the ones that are higher DO NOT have this problem!!! WHY??
Because you still live thinking your ENTITLED to something!! Did you know that there was a war fought for the slaves but ALL whites are MASTERS in your RACIST piece of shits mind!!
Not everybody had the pleasure to have a slave working and cleaning there house!! Should have ALL been kept over in Africa!!! See where you all would be now!! INGRATES!!

    Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777

Exactly. They only want young people on. Many of these young people will be dead long before they even reach Paula's age. Be proud Paula.

  44. vera says – reply to this

I really wish she would have sucked it up and did the Today show segment. Not showing at the last minute only worsened her situation. And then to issue heavily edited apologies on YouTube? Who are her publicists? They did her no favors with that decision. But the fact is, she is obviously remorseful. She seems like a lovely, gracious woman and talented cook. She makes people feel good (albeit a bit chubbier in the process). With all the b.s. other stars get away with daily, to fire her?? Reckless, especially considering the millions she's brought in for Food Network throughout the years. I hope she flourishes from this ludicrous executive action and starts her own 'Food Network', squarely kicking them right in their greedy calf fries.

  45. richsp says – reply to this

Just like when the fired the Nappy Headed Hoe comment!! The fucking guy gives more to charity and puts on millions of dollar charities that would add up to more then ALL u nappy heads together.. INGRATES!! Freedom of Speech!!! Blam! Bam!! You people laugh as your watching the bricks fall apart for freedom of speech!! You cant have one race saying the Nword while the rest of the country gets persecuted.
There is so much hatred towards successful people is mind boggling.. WHY!!! Do they owe you something for there hard work!!!!

  46. crissi says – reply to this

This is crap! I think Paula Dean is awesome who cares she said the "n" word… Not me! I will never watch Food Network again for the way they are treating her!

  47. Nagger says – reply to this

Everyone uses the N word. Black people themselves over use the N word. She's an old ass white lady from the south, what do people expect? Everyone is too fucking sensitive now a days. I'm sure people who own the food network have used the N word themselves at one point. This world is so hypocritical. If black people take such offense to the word then maybe stop using it in your music and calling each other that then the word itself will diminish. This world is full of hypocrites and overreacting douche bags.
Everyone should smoke a J, lighten the fuck up and get over it.

  48. 48

Perez, why do you not include perfectly reasonable comments?

  49. 49

so funny how all the whitey, cracker, honkeys on this site just cant understand the difference between a caucasian southern woman using the "n word" and a black person using it. and while most people have probably used questionable terms while telling jokes that whole plantation themed wedding seemed a little out of line. food network basically had no choice except to can her. they are a business and if they didn't get rid of her it would have seemed that they were condoning her behavior. i heard they are still going to keep her sons shows though.

  50. teeter totter says – reply to this

Re: overthere – What is wrong with trying not to pay any more tax than you have to? As a senior who has paid my share and then some over the years, I feel no shame in looking for any tax breaks I can find. Next year I will have a nice tax loss carry forward for 4 years due to selling property at a loss.
On topic, I have never seen her show (do not get the channel), but she was under oath for a deposition and she told the truth, she used the word a long time ago when she was working in a bank and they got held up and someone held a gun to her head. I probably would have done the same.

  51. teeter totter says – reply to this

Re: pretty4261 – She was accused of using the word in a workplace environment, it is not proven yet. The deposition is gathering evidence before a trial or settlement. In her depo she admitted using the word after being robbed when working at a bank. Please read the full story or background. I am not making excuses for her, just trying to set the facts straight as I understand them.

  52. 52

    she deserves it

  53. Pinkie says – reply to this

Why would one get fired for something they said 30 years ago.

  54. KC says – reply to this

I am Asian and I understand why black people take offense when ppl of other races us the n word. There is a big difference between someone calling me a "chink" for example, as opposed to myself using that word. Of course, common use of that word in hiphop has desensitized ppl of all backgrounds to that word and so now everyone thinks it's ok to use that word since you hear it everywhere. Racial slurs come from a place of hate and intolerance and they are not to be taken lightly. Food Network did the right thing by firing her.

  55. Nikki says – reply to this

Wow. It's sad to see how far we still have to go in this country! Reading these comments is just depressing! First off, Paula Deen is a public figure, so she should not have been surprised about the attention she got from her comments. Second, read the deposition. I doubt that she only said the N word once. I mean, really, she thought it was charming that all the wait staff were well dressed black men. Food Network had to react or it would have looked like they were supporting a racist. For those who commented about most black people are lazy and on welfare. Look up the statistics. There are equal as mount Caucasian and black on welfare. And being on welfare does not equate to laziness. The N word shouldn't be used by anybody. Having been called that many times myself, I can tell you it hurts.

  56. 56

Personally, I think people are making too big of a deal over this. She was giving a deposition and answered a question truthfully. She had to know that would hurt her career, yet she still answered truthfully. What people fail to realize is that not only is she from the south, but she's also from a time when the word was used quite often. It would probably be hard to find someone her age from the south who hasn't used that word. It's not like it's something she goes around saying now, she said it was a long time ago. My dad remembers using it and it being used quite frequently by others, when he was growing up in the 50's/60's out here in CA and he is FAR from a racist. Things change over time, people need to remember that. Most of the things that are considered racist today weren't considered to be racist 30+ years ago.

  57. rachelle greene says – reply to this

    Re: tacogirl – NOPE.

her age is NO EXCUSE, and anyone who believes that is either also a racist, or ignorant of the issue. i just left a comment addressing this insanity, so you can read my position there…

the fact that she uses the word when no Black folks are around underscores her racism; if it really was no big deal, she would not be modifying her behaviour when in mixed company.

laying it back on her age is like excusing Neo-Nazis because they may have Germanic heritage: it is either wrong, or right–there is no grey area here.

  58. rachelle greene says – reply to this

  59. Mellie says – reply to this

Re: biznaz – Rappers do not represent the entire black community. So because Eminem and Macklemore call themselves the "H" word, that makes it ok for a black person to say it? Heck no! By the way, Paula Deen made her fortune cooking southern style African American style food. Wonder who she got the recipes from?…the help perhaps??

  60. 60

i have spent the majority of my time on this planet in Houston, Texas, and i also have family throughout The Old South, so i am speaking from a place of authority here. age is NO EXCUSE: my maternal grandmother was from Kentucky, and she is descended from poor White people who were INDENTURED SERVANTS during the period of Constitutionally-legal slavery. RACISM WAS INVENTED TO KEEP THE POOR WHITES AND THE SLAVES FROM GETTING TOGETHER TO REBEL–PERIOD. my very basically educated, poor White grandmother NEVER SAID THAT WORD, even thought i know for a fact that she was raised by people who used it more than even Paula Deen. i have NEVER heard an one of my family from her side, or her husband's side (my maternal grandfather) use that word–NOT ONCE. Paula Deen is descended from people who owned slaves; she believes that a "Plantation-Themed Wedding" is a good idea! SHE LOVES CERTAIN RESTAURANTS BECAUSE ALL OF THE WAITERS ARE MIDDLE-AGED BLACK MEN IN WHITE COATS!!! that woman is NOT NORMAL–she is 100% racist, folks.

many people seem to believe that one necessarily needs to wish harm upon the members of certain groups in order to qualify as racist; nothing could be farther from the truth. the mere fact that SHE CONSCIOUSLY AVOIDS USING THAT EPITHET IN THE PRESENCE OF BLACK FOLKS IS THE ONLY PROOF ANYONE NEEDS THAT SHE KNOWS IT IS WRONG. STOP DEFENDING HER…she has plenty of money, and many lawyers to do that for her.

  61. 61

  62. 62

  63. 63

This is ridiculous…There was no such thing as political correctness way back when. And being from the South??? Different time and place. One apology is more than enough. Get rid of her and I'm pretty much done with the network. There is no reason for their response. I'll still be eating in her restaurant when I'm in Savannah.

  64. Alicia says – reply to this

I hate racism, but Paula apologized, so get over forget her past mistakes. I don't know anyone who hasn't said a racial remark at some time in their life. No one is perfect. Get over it, you whiny, politically correct drama queens.

  65. butter says – reply to this

It's ridiculous how people keep making excuses for her. This is who she is. Stop making excuses for her. She said it in a workplace, that is illegal dummies. It seems like people will never understand the impact that word has coming out of a white persons mouth. This is why she needs to go, at least food network understands. Not everyone has used that word, you are so wrong about that. UNACCEPTABLE. Black people don't even say that word, they say it with a different pronunciation & spelling. It's not the same word or meaning. How she used it was racist.

  66. Robert says – reply to this

Paula begged for forgiveness. I forgave her… How many times has 50 Cent and Lil Wayne said the N word? I'm not gonna watch The Food Network anymore. I'm so sick and tired of people overrating to pc stupidity. Some people cry a lot about many things. It doesn't mean that someone should be thrown off television just because some people are offended and upset about dumb stuff that they said in the past. Everyone has said dumb stuff in the past. SO WHAT?! Society is getting dumber by the day.

  67. Yeah says – reply to this

I will buy Paula Deen's products now.

  68. Brown Man says – reply to this

How many black rappers used that word today ???? Where is the outrage about that ???? Why didn't their record label executives drop them ???? Oh, that's right, DOUBLE STANDARD !!!!

Re: butter – You're really out of touch with reality, dear.

  70. T-Bone says – reply to this

Who cares if Paula Den says the N word? I listen to lots of hip hop music. The N word is said repeatedly in many hip hop songs. Oh, well.

  71. areyoukiddingme says – reply to this

First of all, that was not a genuine apology, anyone who believes that is an idiot. Second of all, I don't give a complete shit that she said the N-word. As numerous people have already mentioned everybody has said it at one point or the other. My main problem with this whole story is that she freaking thought it was a good idea to organize a slaves-serving-in-nice-slave-clothes wedding for her brother.
I for one am very happy she got fired. But then again there seems to be so many racist assholes still living in this (American) world, so I'm sure she'll have a job again in no time..

  72. Woman from NYC says – reply to this

Re: areyoukiddingme – So what? How long ago was it that she did that? I'm black, and I don't care. How would you like it if someone got you fired based on a stupid mistake that you made in the past? Everyone has done stupid things, yourself included. Life goes on. And I agree with what people have said on here about rappers. They have probably said and done much worse than Paula Deen has, but they won't lose their job for it. Many of them say racial slurs in every song that they make, and continue to perpetuate stupid stereotypes about black people. Despicable. Jay Z supposedly shot his brother years ago, according to the media. Should he be dropped by his record company for that? The ignorance in the country is astounding.

  73. Raymondj says – reply to this

Re: TheGypsyDove – I was thinking the SAME THING! Oprah can do the interview where Paula can explain what really happened and then give her a timeslot for a Talk/cooking show on OWN. Food network missed the mark on this one

Re: boston61 – You may be right about Paula but why are you bringing Giada and Anderson into this? Get a grip.

  75. Woman from NYC says – reply to this

The ignorance in THIS country is astounding, is what I meant to say.

  76. areyoukiddingme says – reply to this

Re: Woman from NYC – This apparently happened in 2007 and I have to say, that isn't long ago enough for me to accept it. I don't think I've made any mistakes yet that could compete with this; don't pretend to know me. And I don't listen to or in any way support the rappers that have been mentioned here. If what you said about Jay-Z is true, then he should probably be in jail right now and not just get 'dropped'.
You're right, your country is pretty ignorant. I should've made clear I'm not actually from your country.

  77. Woman from NYC says – reply to this

Re: areyoukiddingme – I don't pretend to know you, like you pretend to know Paula Deen. You said "that was not a genuine apology". Are you a mind reader? And I don't care what she did in 2007, or 2012, for the matter. It's still in the past, and if she is really sorry for her mistakes in the past, then good for her. And as for America, yes, there are many racist people here. I'm well aware of that. They're not all white people either. I've met racist people of every race. I've also met many racist people while traveling in other countries, so America isn't the only country with ignorant people and racism flourishing.

  78. erica says – reply to this

anyone who says they NEVER used the "N" word are liares!!!!

  81. WillowWynde says – reply to this

What this case boils down to is Lisa Jackson trying to get her hands on some money. Apparently she was singing a different tune in May 2010 (only two months before she quit) because she sent Paula Deen a letter boasting about how much she loved working for her and her brother, Bubba. The whole controversy over the N-word is ludicrous. If it’s so upsetting to hear, do not use it yourself, period. The Food Network reminds me of MTV. MTV used to be about music, now it’s just horrible reality shows. The Food Network has followed suit by distancing themselves from what they’re about. So the fact that Paula’s contract won’t be renewed is a blessing in disguise.

  82. 82

lets all just start using the word if people are going to get that stupid about it.
