The movie title should have given him a clue. What a tool. What producer will hire him now after he badmouths his own movie.

He signed on for a movie called Kick-Ass and it is now occurring to him that it is violent! I would assume that he saw the first one and even read the script to this one. He is coming off as an idiot.

so then why did he support the film before sandy hook? were the millions of children massacred before sandy hook not important enough for him?

Everyone's aloud to have second thoughts on something, to come to a decision slowly, to take thoughtful intake of what you've done and what you're okay with. This topic should NEVER be an easy one. Never.

Does that mean he's giving all the money he made off of the role to the victims of the shootings OR to the campaigns for gun control? Bad move, Jim. Bad move.

Ummm- To Perez, the EP Mark and the rest of you JERKS out there judging Jim's change of heart; I ask that you re-read his tweet for more clarity (i've changed the character cases for more emphasis on where you should read more into:
I DID KICKASS A MONTH B4 sandy hook and NOW in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence.

I DID, NOW…. BAM! You fucktards need to leave the man the fuck alone! He says he did it then he says that now, after the fucking FACT- he regrets it… you assholes read shit wrong and cause problems for no damn reason. Jim- i support you and am proud of your coming clean after the fact.

I support him for saying this. It's not like he's badmouthing the movie, he's just saying that with elvolving views (and views and opinions do evolve and change…sometimes it just takes one event such as Sandy Hook to do it) he can't support the violence in the movie and that's his right to say. And anyone is kidding themselves if they don't think that gun violence in movies has something to do with shootings, especially mass shootings like this one was.

throwing the film under the bus is extremely disrespectful to all those who made it including those who paid his actors fee! The film is made now and will be released so what is he achieving doing this? If he doesnt want to promote it fine but dont slam it. Just keep it shut. Really really rude.

Re: dddff – You should really learn to read. He had a change of heart after Sandy Hook.

Jim Carrey is a robber, took their money and ran.

So… did he not see the first movie before being in the second?

Re: overthere – the film has nothing to do with Sandy hook and as a grown ass man he really should have developed a strong opinion about violence way way before sandyhook happened. Its hardly the first(or last) masacre of its kind in the US.

There will always be violence both in the real world and in movies/music/etc; Art imitates life and vice versa. Jim Carrey knew what kind of movie this was, and he had no issue being a part of it until now? I personally think it's a dick move on his part to take money for performing in a film, and then to say he can't support the film all of a sudden because of real world violence. Give them their money back if you really mean it, otherwise shut your face Jim Carrey.

Re: Lady Amalthea – It had to be bothering him a lot now for him to do this. Conversely, this type of P.R. might actually bring more people in to the movie.
