Many of the great artists of all time have been accused of plagiarism: Shakespeare, T. S. Eliot, and now…Ludacris?! Whhaaa?
Rapper Ludacris, who is known for stealing cars in the Fast and the Furious movies, has been called out for stealing lyrics for his hit song Sex Room. He's being accused by a rapper from Chicago by the name of Marvo, who is now trying to take him to court! Marvo says he came up with the idea for Sex Room in 2009, but that his producer at the time sold it to Ludacris behind his back.
Marvo says that Luda released his hit single with many of his original lines including: "Welcome to my sex room," and "It's a private party." Poetry not necessarily in iambic pentameter, but still Marvo claims he wasn't even given a dollar for his lyrics. So now he's suing Luda and the other artist on the single, Trey Songz, for an unknown amount of money. According to
his maybe his song Rich and Flexin, Ludacris DOES have quite a few half a million dollar watches and cars to spare! Just sayin'!
Ludacris has yet to publicly respond, but maybe this whole ordeal will make for a good subject for his next album?
