Paula Deen DUMPED By QVC After Her Teary-Eyed Today Interview! Find Out WHY!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooBusiness BlitzPaula Deen

paula deen fired qvc racist n word walmart target ended partnerships

Like a heap of butter tossed into a hot frying pan, Paula Deen's business partnerships are dissolving quicker than she can imagine.

QVC is the latest company to terminate its professional relationship with the Southern chef, and we can't say we're too surprised.

Maintaining a relationship with a flailing celeb who admits (under oath) to using the N-word and then digs herself into deeper and more awkward holes with every passing "apology" must be tricky, to say the least.

Today CEO Mike George broke the seemingly inevitable news.

In a statement, he said:

"We have talked with Paula and her team extensively over the last several days, and together we have considered what is best for our customers, for Paula, and for QVC. For now, we have decided to take a pause. Paula won’t be appearing on any upcoming broadcasts and we will phase out her product assortment on our online sales channels over the next few months. We all think it’s important, at this moment, for Paula to concentrate on responding to the allegations against her and on her path forward."

QVC held out longer than Walmart and Target, but with Paula's history of racial bigotry now a matter of public record the writing was on the wall.

Paula responded to the company's statement:

"As you know, I have some important things to work on right now, both personally and professionally. And so we’ve agreed that it’s best for me to step back from QVC and focus on setting things right."

It's an ugly situation all around, but it sounds like this break is probably for the best.

We all should be fired. We all have said things bad about other people, whether it is about race, weight, age…religion. Give it a break people. At least she admitted to it.

Dear Paula Deen You don't know me but I love you and your show. I think you are a sheep to the slaughter. What you said was in the privacy of your own. How many at that trial Judges, Prosecutors, jury have used the n word. Many I would say and in public too. Shame on them for crucifying you. You are a wonderful person. Stay strong. For heavens sake it is not like you killed someone.
    A fan of yours

I honestly think this whole Paula Dean Scandel is ridiculous! People, come on!! She is a human being and has made a tiny tiny little mistake and had enough balls to admit that. Leave her the HELL alone! Lets move the fuck forward! I'm sooooo tired of the media making a mountian always out of a mole hill! Every single person that has black listed her I'm sure is a fucking hypocrite- those people are the ones that scare me!

I've lived in the south for 5 years now and the truth is this is the south mentality. Does it make it right? No. But its a way of culture down here. I'd never in public heard the "n" word until I moved to the south. And they don't even consider themselves racists, like I said, its just a part of culture here.

  8. Millie says – reply to this

Very sad. How these companies don't have the balls to stand by Paula. It shows how coward they all are. She apologies. I feel she was sincere. I for one am not buying from these companies. I think is a disgrace to say the least how these companies treated this lady. It's just not right. She will be all right. New doors are going to open. Maybe Macy's. Bigger and better. But I do feel sorry for all of the unemployed people. When the restaurants closed. Stay strong Paula and family. We adore you. And we know you was sorry. God bless.

Looks like it's time to call Perez's sponsors and demand to know why they support someone who uses the F slur, and defends his usage of it!

    #1 on Amazon Paula Deen.

  11. 11

I stopped watching the Food Channel, cancelled my QVC card, I hate walmart anyway, so no great loss, not planning any trips to vegas anyway and i will go to lowes vs home depot. NOT going along with the PC police.

Everybody's abandoning Paula. I guess Michelle Obama won't be inviting her to any Whitehouse dinners anytime soon. So she'll just have to call Michelle a n*gg*r down in Georgia all by herself.

This may be off subject but along the same line .Kim's sister khloe kardashian said in a interview that she has never dated a white man or even thought about dating one , and Kim that I have seen only dates black men besides the half white man she was married to for what 72 days that ended up being said to be fake . So this is a case of REVERSE RACISM does anyone else think so I do .so why does the Kardashins get a pass for being RACIST !

  16. 16

This is f—— ridiculous…if this is all because she said one word 30 YEARS AGO after being robbed at gun point than WOW…get over it people. Life goes on. These consequences are so overkill give me a break. Much worse things in this world than someone using the n word lol.

  17. 17

QVC is putting Paula on pause. I"m putting QVC on pause

Guess who is #1 on Amazon PAULA DEEN

what the hell is going on with these people, for Gods sake this happened over 20 years ago when the N word didn't mean shit to anyone. Grow up you f–king freaks.

Yes QVC!!!!! Way to go. That's for mistreating women.

  20. Dgrill says – reply to this

Re: loriso – I have lived in the south for 11 years and what you describe is false. You are making it sound like every other word coming out of a southerners mouth is racist, UNTRUE!! It happens north, south, east and west. Please quit targeting southerners. My wife and her family were born and raised in the south and they are some of the kindest, most generous, loving people you could ever meet.

  21. Ali says – reply to this

You Americans love your villains and tearing someone down. I feel sorry for this woman.
And if you hate certain words, everyone should stop using them, even to each other regardless your race and colour. The amount of times I hear that word on your tv shows and movies, even singers using them, recently Rihanna to dexcribe a child?!? It's not cool, make someone a villain because she's white. That's racist aswell.

  22. 22

Isn't she rich enough to just disappear and live a fantastic FILTHY RICH LIFE out of the spotlight?

  23. Sharon says – reply to this

My 86 year old grandma is racist like Paula but we all tell her off and stop saying that junk so now she is not saying it out any more. She keep that mess to herself. Bet no one is telling Paula not to say that racist mess.

    Mel Gibson WAS 100% CORRECT!

  25. Sybil says – reply to this

If you read the legal suite that has been posted, it was about Bubba's Oyster House. Her brother is the Billy Carter of the family and has tried to ride her coattails. There is more gender bias on Paula Deen's part than racism. Move on Perez…We have bigger issues than this! The Supreme Court wants to take voting back to the Jim Crow days but YOU choose this to go on and on about? REALLY???? As I said before; I think you are prejudiced toward white, and may I add, southern people. You talk about her unhealthy recipes….OMG! I grew up with 'that' food and it was some good eatin', my friend! Did we eat it every day? Hell no, because unless you worked hard labor everyday, your body couldn't burn up all those calories! Nobody points fingers at Paul Prudhomme or Mario Batali…why is that? Because they are 'chefs' and not cooks? Back off, and show some grace, mister! It's like you have reverted back to bullying…STOP IT! There are bigger issues at hand!

  26. Rachel says – reply to this

Its not only because she said the n word, she also said something aout a wedding where the servents were all black and dressed up like slaves.

  27. gmahelen says – reply to this

Paula has been a greedy little grubby southern bell for many years. Its called KARMA. So sick of people defending her. EVERYTHING that goes around comes around. THAT is the Paula Deen story. and PS. anyone that treats someone like garbage and gets SUED..would get the same treatment.

  28. 28

It sounds like her supporters are as dumb and probably as bigots as she is.

  29. 29

I don't condone her using the "n" word, but give it a rest. We have all said things at one point in our lives, just most of us aren't famous. I also find it funny that yet again when people make fun of caucasions it is more acceptable, but in reverse we are slaughtered. Go pick up any number of rap albums and have a listen.

  30. Teddy says – reply to this

Re: gmahelen – How is looking from up there on your high horse? I never met anyone that was perfect before. I feel honored.

  31. 31

This woman was so 'honest' in her deposition and spilled the beans about her brother's porn and cocain use to protect her own ass. With her being so graphic, you would think she was being honest about everything right? Wrong! That was her plan though. This is not the first time for these accusations. Do you really think all these educated exects in all these big name companies are that stupid? With all the money they make, do you think they'll drop her like that? With her not saying she was sick, this lawsuit, and God knows what else they knew because she is representing their company, I think they keep a close eye on ALL THEIR CLIENTS. There is definitely more to this than people think. So don't get mad.

  32. shell says – reply to this

the point is no one is perfect, we should forgive people because that is what GOD wants us to do.

  33. beach says – reply to this

Talk about the media nailing someone to the wall for no good reason. It's all so stupid and ridiculous.

  34. OMG why says – reply to this

She said it, she admitted it (badly), she tried to take it back (even worse), she needs to take her medicine. She will be fine, she's hella rich, she will survive. Don't cry for Paula Deen, she's not really even crying herself. Go back and look at her interview, NO REAL TEARS.

  35. OMG why says – reply to this

I do have to say though that I'm VERY tired of the argument that black people cannot complain about non-blacks saying it, because we say it. Why do you need to say it!?!?!? We did not systematically rape and murder and oppress while screaming that word, its not the same thing. Stop trying to make the fact that we say it (usually in affinity) a justification, because you already know, YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY IT! Its not yours anymore. They keep telling us to let it go, after you!

  36. beach says – reply to this

Re: thebigboot – I could not agree more. Perez is one of the biggest hypocrits on the planet, and HE GETS PAID for being like that. He should be shut down way before Paula should. Shame on him and all the other media outlets who won't let this go. I guess they enjoy destroying someone's life who doesn't deserve it.

  39. samantha says – reply to this

i don't understand how this is different than black people calling their friends and whoever else that word. i mean really. it shouldn't be used by anyone. this is just so stupid to me. I actually feel bad for paula. that is racist in itself for blacks to be able to use it so freely in music and general conversation, but whites can't. whites made the damn word. just another thing for people to get pissy about.

  40. 40

The good news she'll have more time to plan parties with all black waiters like she dreamed of. This is almost as bad as when her great granddaddy lost all his 'help' and couldn't handle working his plantation.

  41. 41

Re: Sybil – Amen about Paula Deen's brother. Once she was deposed, she had to tell the truth. And she felt compelled to be loyal to that brother. But she should have hired some major advice, and early.

Re: Ali – She only said she never heard the word before. Where I grew up I did. I've lived in this state for 20 yrs and have never heard it. I can count on my hand how many black people I have encountered while I had many friends throughout the yrs. back east.

  44. Bonnie says – reply to this

I've lived in the south for about 10 years now. I have a hard time describing how racist it is here. I live near Savannah and it's never been a secret about Paula Dean. What people aren't focusing on is the way employees have been treated. It's not that she said the N word. It's that she treated people like they were the N word. My husband and I both tell people that the Civil War is still being fought here. By the way her restaurant isn't a destination for locals. The food's not that good.

  45. Ann says – reply to this

Re: Rachel – A once southern tradition just as movies create. Some people are old, some people remember how things were. Did they refuse to participate or just decide to speak up now that the door was open? How many of us have done or said something that offends others? We consistently disagree and people find ones views offensive. This was a lynching.

  46. OMG why says – reply to this

To everyone who is saying that "we've all said things we shouldn't have," go say the N-word outloud at your job. See how big a deal its not. You wouldn't say it in your workplace, if you did say it, you would expect some blow back. How is this any different? Hell, most of us have probably gotten in trouble for saying a lot less.

  47. Ann says – reply to this

Re: Bonnie – How many employees have complained or brought suit for the way they are treated by those that have disassociated with her and her products?

  48. Ann says – reply to this

Re: OMG why – Maybe you never heard it, I have. The definition has also changed just like other words have new meanings.

  49. 49

Oh dear God, now I'm listening to jesse jackson preach how paula deen can redeem herself. REV jackson with his bastard child and his thief of a son and daughter in law.

  50. OMG why says – reply to this

Re: Ann – You were in a professional setting where non-black people said the N-word outloud??? That is crazy.

  51. 51

Why do people from other races want to use the N word?
The N word was given to Black people so if anything they can use the word. The N word was meant as a discrimination against Black people, and so they took the word and gave it a new meaning, even spelling it diffrently.

  52. 52

In reading this over whelming support for Paula Deen it seems that most of the posters have not considered that the word is and has always been a mean and ugly word. I was one of 4 students to integrate my high school in 1968. For my entire freshman year, not a day went by without someone saying the "n" word directed at me.
Fast forward to today's hip hop culture where many are claiming that blacks use it constantly. Unfortunately, the hip hop community has failed miserably in trying to make a linguistic distinction between "er" and "ah".
But Mrs. Deen and I were both born in 1953. For her to claim it was "just a part of the culture". She is denying that the word has always meant to be slanderous and hurtful.
Karma is a "b..tch" and sometimes comes in its own time. I cannot and do not feel any sympathy for Ms. Deen. In fact, her cookbooks are flying out of Amazon. So maybe Ms. Deen should just basked in her reportedly $17 mil wealth. The question I would ask, how would Ms. Deen feel if one of her sons married interracially.. I have heard that she does indeed have biracial relatives. I hope that Ms. Deen and all of us have taken pause and considered this word's true legacy. It has always been an ugly, hurtful word no matter what the hip hop community has tried to do to desensitize it.

  53. mamanelle5 says – reply to this

I think Paula is being persecuted needlessly. Yes, we've all made derogatory remarks over our lifetime, including the N word. She has apologized, and I think it's time to let it go. PAULA will rise again. She is one of the nice ladies in this world.

  54. mamanelle5 says – reply to this

[re=6456587]Re: Chanbo[/I hear what you are saying, but why is it African Americans can call each other "that" word, yet it's wrong if anyone else uses it. Then, take the rappers…………….that's another whole story.

Re: sheryl gamble – RIGHT ON!!!!

  56. Erica says – reply to this

I am so sick of Paula Deen and her poured on fake accent and you'all every other word. She was likeable when she first came on the scene, but fame and fortune soon went to her head and she began to act superior and think rules did not apply to her. Greed began to rule over common sense. Her apology was no apology and her crocodile tears are not for the errors of her ways, but for herself seeing her financial world falling apart. She is 66 so why doesn't she just retire and go clear away? No one need to feel sorry for her for she has enough money that she can sit till she dies and mumble the "n word" all the way to the bank. Incidentally she also became very free with sexual innuendo remarks that made me cringe for her.

  57. OMG why says – reply to this

Re: mamanelle5 – Alot of black people don't even say it. And again if it has such a history of being negative and hurtful from non-blacks then WHY DO YOU WANT TO SAY IT!?!?!?! Black people have been thrown in jail en masse, we're made to feel like our transition or lack their of after hundreds of years and generations of oppression is "our own fault." What context do you plan to use it in other than a hateful one?? We've stood alot of crap, but this is one we're not gonna stand. You have to give at least the pretense of respect for that. I don't care what rappers do, rappers walk around with stupid outfits on and big jewelry, no one's grabbing for those fads, but this one you want so badly. Well you can't have it and we're never gonna give it to you, so let it go. I shouldn't say that, when there are NOT 1 OF 9 black men in jail for bs, when the richest people in country show more of our faces to be reflective of our population, when a black man can walk down the street in NY and not be frisked just for walking while black, then maybe we can talk.

Let's shitcan this ridiculous and hypocritical political correctness and get everyone to stop being so fucking OFFENDED all the time. It doesn't seem to have occurred to the idiot blacks that some white people hate them because they're lazy, grasping, dishonest, entitlement-mentality shits who use an institution that was abolished 148 YEARS ago to blackmail society into giving them special privileges. And another thing when slavery ended, black people were still being discriminated against….had to sit at the black of the bus…had to use separate entrances…denied entry into places because they were colored folks…had to use separate drinking fountains…which lead to the civil rights act of 1964.

Talk about bulling this is really it. I am not the biggest fan of Paula Deen but really, does she deserve to have her whole life torn apart because of something she said a long time ago. They were not even that mean to Mel Gibson, and he said some bad things. Look at these rappers and their words they use and people just fall all over them. Why would the company that is putting out her new cookbook that is #12 on Amazon cancel it, what are they trying to prove? There are a lot of people that are really big fans of hers, what about them, I think she has said she was sorry enough, people just need to get over it. It was not that big a deal we all say the wrong things at times and there are sure a lot more important things going on in the world to get upset about, just get over it.

I cannot believe that it has come to companies cowardly "dumping" her, for something that happened such a long time ago.
    1) Why isn't anyone asking how a "Taped Deposition" was "Leaked" in the first place?
    2) She is a 66 year old woman who grew up in Savannah, Georgia, where the "N" word was commonplace for many many years, and may still be. Does that make the whole city "racist"?
    3) The case against Paula & Bubba has not been decided yet. How are all these companies who didn't stand by her going to feel when/if the case is proven "unsubstatiated". Are they suddenly all going to expect her to just come back to them?
    4) Can ANYONE say under oath that they have "NEVER" used a durrogatory remark in their "ENTIRE" life? I don't think so, at last she was honest, and admitted it, no matter what the consequences.
