Looks like Instagram may have just ended Vine's 6 seconds of fame…
After Facebook's Instagram announced and released its new video service, Vine has been really taking a hit.
According to a tool that analyzes social media trends, after Instagram's video feature was announced and went live, Vine, which was shared on Twitter 2.5 million times on June 19th, went down to a measly 1.5 million shares…the next day! And after that, it decreased to only 1 million shares! Maybe in a week it'll just be down to one Vine employee filming himself weeping on a 6-second loop.
Although this only shows how Instagram has temporarily affected Vine's relevance, after it's online shares dipped by a huge 40% in one day, we've got to ask: is Vine here to stay? Looks like we'll have to wait and see (and then see it again, and again, and again…wait, is it on repeat?).
