Following her return, the artist took a moment to thank everyone for their "prayers, love, and support" -- and especially the North Bergen Police Department for bringing her home safe.
Sharing a picture alongside the NYPD, Miz Quigley penned:
How does one follow up the legendary role of Erica Kane?!
Well, if you're Susan Lucci, you do it in a big, fabulous way!
And that's just what's going on now that she's stepped into the shoes of Genevieve Delatour on Lifetime's newest hit Devious Maids.
We are beyond honored that the AH-Mazing Mizz Lucci chatted EXCLUSIVELY with PerezHilton.com to discuss her famous All My Children role and this new one that is bound to become just as iconic!
"[T]here are properties … in her that I haven't really had a chance to play. You know she's very vulnerable. She's very romantic. There's a certain innocence about her and a freshness to the whole show. And I do get to do both comedy and drama. And I love that because I think that's most likely a life. You know sometimes you're involved in a situation, it may not even seem funny to you at the time, but it is funny to watch … She's been married five times. Right now she has no such man in her life. And she's feeling extra vulnerable. She's feeling like maybe she's lost her mojo."
Well, we have a suspicion that any character played by Susan could never lose her mojo!
And from what it sounds like Susan hasn't lost her mojo either because she's been one of the few lucky stars to go from one incredible show to another.
No matter how much she's missing Erica, she's finding this new show is filling the void. She revealed:
"Erica Kane as a part was spectacular but the actors I got to work with and the crew, you know it really was a complete ensemble from whatever floor you worked on, you were all in it together and you worked very long hours together. And there was a really — there was a family. I mean you spent a lot of hours together and very — a lot of mutual respect and a lot of being in the trenches together. And I miss the people. You know I miss that whole other extra, wonderful, fabulous family that I had. And at the same time, you don't expect to have that more than one time in your lifetime and I must say I feel so fortunate to now be doing Devious Maids because it is a feeling like that all over. You know for me this is a new family but an equally spectacular family."
Unfortunately, for our Erica Kane obsession, we won't be seeing her sneak into this new role. Susan is just too damn good to let that happen!
"Erica is spectacular and I will love her forever but I wanted to always to do justice and dig deep to come up with the stuff I needed for each part in its own way. And so yeah I think it was good for me to be mindful of that going in, but there are real differences. So that makes it possible."
Well, even though we want it to be Erica all the time, we're loving what she's doing with Genevieve on Devious Maids.
We're only two episodes in and we're hooked!
We can't wait for many more happy years watching Susan slay it on TV!
