Rabbi Wolpe is an inspiration! I wish more and more religious leaders would follow his lead. Religious doctrine has to keep up with the times and don't most religions preach love, peace and tolerance?

This same rabbi has also said that he still refuses to perform interfaith weddings. His tolerance only goes so far.

What I'm still trying to come to grips with is that people are still against LGBT and same-sex marriage. My mom is even offended to say that she is still living in a time where it is frowned upon. To me it's common sense. Like looking both ways before you cross the street. People are born a certain way. I don't get why it's not tolerated. The US needs to start becoming more liberated if they want to remain the strongest and proudest country on earth. It's close minded beliefs like this that lead to poverty, abuse, etc. Constantly growing with an open mind and embracing it will ultimately lead to a successful economy. I think this topic is a widely known and shouldn't even be brought to this kind of controversy.

While I think his intentions are good, religious leaders of all faiths need to take into account their congregation. I quit the church I was raised in when we got a new reverend who insisted on introducing politics (which I did not agree with) at the end of his sermon.
