Britney Spears Doesn't Need Auto-Tune, Says Producer William Orbit!

Notorious auto-tuners: Chris Brown, T.I., uhhh NOT Britney Spears?

Apparently that's right. One of Britney's producers on her 8th studio album, William Orbit, says that whole make-your-voice-sound-like-a-transformer isn't her thang.

After a fan tweeted that they wanted a song with just Britney and a piano, William replied with this, thus igniting the Twittersphere:

britney spears william orbit

We agree, William! Don't let the robots win! (Cue: Terminator soundtrack)

He's also mentioned that Britney's upcoming album is "to die for," and that he will "cut vocals" in the next couple weeks. "To die for?" "Cutting vocals?" Sounds awesome, Sweeney Todd!

No auto-tuning and B mentioning this will be her most personal album yet? We can't wait for this one to drop on us like a snake on Britney!

I always enjoyed Britney songs without all of the different effects and enhancements added.
Perhaps a more naturalistic approach will promote more live vocals this time. Can - Not - Wait

auto tune doesn't really change the sound of the vocals, and when it does it's painfully obvious. for some reason she got a bad rap with people thinking she's all auto tune.

Britney has had a long career…and EVERY song she has done has used auto-tune. Before it was used for the vocoder type effect, it was used for simple pitch correction. It is pretty obvious that she has used it for over a decade now (along with "back up" singers doing lead vocals in many songs).

Background singers doing lead vocals? Where do you get this shit from? LMAO. Even if her voice is pitched or distorted, it's always obvious that it's still Britney, it doesn't matter if you love or hate her, her voice is distinctive in it's tone. In regards to her using autotune in every song for over a decade, your probably right, but who hasn't?

She doesnt! Her voice isn't amazing, but she doesn't need auto-tune. I personally like her voice in the songs she didn't use auto-tune in more than the ones she did. Can't wait!

so excited for her new music!

there s no point arguing with people that are so ignorant that they think brit s vocals are not highly proccessed (not just auto tune. that s one way to do it). yet they always are. and live she just sings to track. but keep your head in the sand and stay happy. but any reasonably intelligent person knows this.

There is a reason she never sings live, she has lost her voice, hence the use of autotune on everything.

    hahahahahahaha! that's all.

Isn't there a difference between auto tune (something nearly every pop star uses when recording…pitch correction) and the vocoder effect that people like Madonna, Lil Wayne and many more use on purpose??

What auto-tune does is just making the vocals sound electric which is something common in this generation of music. What people don't understand is that before auto-tune is used, the singer must have the voice that goes with that type of songs that the singer is about to sing and then sing the track with the right pitch/s. After all that auto-tune is used to make the vocals Electric Sounding just for the fun of it. And no, Britney songs don't always have auto-tune and this should be easy to know because not every song type have that (Electric Sounding vocals aka Auto-Tuned Vocals) match with it.
