They move the movies in and then out of the theatres too quickly now. The last three times I went to go see a movie that had piqued my interest, they were already gone.
People aren't flashing 10 second commercials socially.

If they left it in theatres for longer than a New York minute, they could see it turn a profit. Then again, I don't know what the costs involved are. Shrugs.

Lone Ranger failure was due to Disneys poor marketing. Was terrible, and intentional.

I personally like the movie but i think fan just didn't want to give it a try just because it a western maybe and because certain fan felt Johnny should haven't play the part Tonto because he is not Native American enough. Once again in America it about race which is so stupid and that fact that Amber heard Johnny new girlfriend commented i'm obsess with Ayn rand ideas . Wow this bitch can keep her mouth shut and look pretty She a racist whore. So Johnny movie bomb

as much as I love Johnny Depp, he's not native american. it'd have been much better if they got a native american actor to play his role.

What ? he has many traits Cherokee and that character fits him very well.

This movie is fantastic. Whatever is happening in his personal life has nothing to do with this movie. It is entertaining in every way and people should really go and see it and judge for themselves before they make an opinion based on what they like or don't like in his personal life. That's just pure ignorance.

Re: LILA – Its Called acting, he's playing a character and he did a fantastic job. Just because the character is native doesn't mean a native person has to play it. In all honesty I can't think of another actor of any nationality that could have done a better job.

I saw the movie this week and loved it, it was funny and entertaining and I would def go see it again. I think the reason it didn't do well is most kids today probably have absolutely no idea who the loan ranger is and don't associate to it.

We went to see it last night and thought it was great. People laughed at the humour and Jonny and Arnie played well of each other. Maybe you have to remember the original tv series to appreciate the genre.

um Johnny Depp IS part Native American. He has certain features that look native American also. So shut up about him not being native enough.

Re: LILA – I agree, and he can act his way around anyone any day.

Last I checked, which was yesterday, the box office sales were $89 million. I wouldn't call that a flop. I have no doubt in my mind Disney will do just fine making their money back and then some. This week Johnny will be in Japan, Berlin and London premieres. Once China sets a release date they will do a premiere there. Saw this movie three times already and loved it as did the audiences in the theatres I was in. I think the problem on opening weekend is that people let critics brainwash them into not going, it was opening against Despicable Me 2 and it was a holiday weekend in the US (July 4) where people are on vacations and doing picnics.

The movie was not only entertaining but had many subtle clues for the treasure hunter. I love the "One Feather" and the duck foot hints among others. Thanks for the attention to D'tales.;)

why should anybody care if a movie bombed? Like, it's the end of the entertainment world!

Re: adg100 – I wish I knew how that peice works, something seems intentional. Thanks for a clue.
