Chris Brown might be bad for business! The reigning king of controversy did score another gig as he has signed on to perform at the Canadian concert even… Read more…
A sponsor with a conscience. Wonderful and amazing.
I'm from this city and there are actually a lot of people that want to see Chris since we have no one that comes here that is any good. It's all the old ass cranky people who are complaining and who wouldn't go to the show anyway. This city shoos away everyone. Celine Dion a few years ago because people thought she was 'lame'. Sigh. He has a few more shows in Winnipeg and Toronto and no one is complaining. Halifax is just into ”local music' and is such a hippy city. Can't wait to get out of here. #teambreezy
Redic! That boy was a teen when he hit Rihanna. Charlie Sheen was an adult and he is still going strong. Gotta love double standards! Keep ya head up Chris!!
Finally a company showing some standards & integrity. Now if some other companies would follow suit and stop supporting this gangster ass woman beater. And Rogers is no small player - they're worth billions - them pulling out their sponsorship will definitely hurt. Good for you Rogers - Canadians rock!
actually the sponsor signed on knowing he was performing. They only pulled out after the out cry from people in the city to save face.
Re: dustybreaks – That isn't "saving face". That's responding to & acknowledging your customers' opinion. They were faced with the choice of sponsoring a concert that included Chris Brown or withdrawing based on public outrage and they agreed with the Canadian public.
Thank you, Rogers Communications!
Re: Trina – CBis still a woman abuser…he can't take that back..he has a horrendous personality…glad the sponsor backed out coz of him
Re: Kittens With Mittens – it's a great PR move for Rogers even if they knew. Because now they don't have to sponsor to get attention, they are getting it without it due to these Haligonians complaints. Everyone complains about Rogers anyway lol.
The concert sponsors had a choice between a chimp running around the stage throwing feces or Chris Brown. Unfortunately, the chimp has a previous booking.
Re: DN – They're not a start-up … they dominate Canadian media & as a multi-billion dollar company, they really don't need to try and drum up attention
Don't even let this Douche in to Canada!!!! That's it!
Re: dustybreaks – no they were sponsors long before this last minute, and only, act was added.
im trying to figure out when Rogers all of a sudden had morals.. (and i say that as a rogers customer)
Re: DN –
The rest of us in Halifax will shed no tears watching you leave. I'm also shocked that you seem to be implying that Chris Brown's music is "good."
Good for them.
While he's in Canada, let's push Bieber across the border, too, and then not let them back in the States.
good ! he is a d-bag we don't want him and his shitty personality in our beautiful city
I hope this is not a way to to try to stick it to America. Because we would gladly return Drake to Canada on a one way ticket and take wale as well. Even though I most admit I have no problem with Justin
Meh. They're free to decide who they do and don't want to sponsor. As for Brown, you win some, you lose some. Brown isn't suffering financially any. This is called a consequence.
Shiz happens, you forgettaboudit and move on.
I live in Nova Scotia & due to the Rhianna Abuse allegations citizens here as well as the rest of Canada would consider promoting Chris Brown as adding insult to injury. Given that most are against abuse of women in this Country, I think it was a wise choice.
He's actually not very well liked in Canada, compared to some other countries.
When he beat the crap out of his girlfriend that should have ended his career.
Re: Danie J. – KhanRe: Danie J. – It is ridiculous that 5 years later people still wish bad luck upon him. He's a 23 year old who made a mistake. Not sure how that makes him a thug and all the above mentioned names that people are tossing out.
Wtf let chris perform are you still mad at him for beating rihanna damn the man did apologize so what's wrong I don't get it Team Breezy all the no matter what
If a concert needs a sponsor, it must be lame to begin with.
That said, I'm sure CB will find fans among those nice kids who shared pictures of that ms parsons, it's such a nice town full of wholesome young men.
Re: Danie J. – since when is he not well liked in Canada? his music still gets lots of play. and if he were to do an actual concert, not a radio station summer show, he would sell tickets just fine.
Re: The monkey – Musical event sponsors benefit by getting their name up front in signage and other forms of marketing, while helping offset and sharing costs for the event. It's a smart and more cooperative yet capitalistic way to ensure a bottom line success, or at worst a break even outcome for any concert. It's the opposite of 'lame.'
Re: DN – buh bye then. Chris Brown is a skidmark, nothing more.
I am glad the sponsors are seeing the sense in this. Chris Brown is a thug, a skidmark. He is full of hate and aggravation. Take it somewhere else, little boy.
There are not many people I am talking to who want to see him here in Halifax.
And I work in the entertainment business here.
These sponsors are smart business men. Sinking Ship…bail while there's space on the raft.this guy has a tempter and he is not going up …just down…Bad For Business!!!!
Call it karma!
