Chris Brown's Summer Music Festival Loses 4th Sponsor As Halifax Mayor Says Breezy Makes Him 'Sick'!

| Filed under: CanadialandMusic MinuteLegal MattersChris BrownBusiness Blitz

chris brown loses another sponsor music festival halifax mayor made sick by involvement

Chris Brown is alienating Canada… one corporation and mayor at a time!

Hours after the singer's probation was revoked for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run earlier this year, things went from bad to worse for Chris Brown when another sponsor dropped him!!

Today Centre for Arts and Technology-Halifax announced its withdrawal of sponsorship from the musical festival he is scheduled to headline on August 31.

Via Facebook, this statement was released:

“As an education institution, we can’t ignore the sentiments expressed on campus that participating in this year’s event goes against our collective values.”

This is is far from the first sponsor to wash its hands of the Energy Rush concert since Breezy announced he would perform there!

Earlier, the Don't Judge Me singer's reps even went on the defensive when they argued Chris is learning valuable lessons from his past mistakes!

Halifax Mayor Mike Savage doesn't buy it!!

He stands with many other Canadians protesting the convicted criminal's arrival, but his criticism is harsher than most and uttered from a much bigger pulpit!

Mayor Savage revealed:

“It makes me kind of sick, to be honest with you, that someone like this will be performing in Halifax,” he said in an interview on Saturday evening. “Those of us who are in public life – I’m in public life, he’s in public life – you have to be responsible for your past actions, and I think it sends a very, very wrong message to everybody. I’m not keen on the city supporting this in any way.”

Wow!!! He genuinely thinks Chris's presence could negatively affect his community — we wonder if he's right?

With so much time between now and the scheduled concert date, pretty much anything can happen so stay tuned for more updates!

Too bad our country won't take such a stand on lowlifes. Nope, here in the US, we proudly kiss his ass.

  2. 2

    canadians ooze superiority

  3. 3

    Wow! Chris is being REJECTED!

  4. 4

I'm happy to see my nation take a stand against action that are clearly unacceptable. He has to learn that his actions have severe consequences and unfortunately it appears as if he has no remorse for what he did. As a public figure he sets an example for what is right and wrong - violence towards another human is never acceptable.

  5. 5

I love my country, I really do.

  6. 6

Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777 – Not superiority - Canadians have integrity, morals and standards. We could learn a lesson from them.

  7. 7

canadians have heads like cones like that film cone head its from their superior brains need more room thats why their foreheads are so huge…

what he did he has paid for ages ago..and still paying for

It sounds like he's being punished for breaking up with Rihanna. I dont think he'd of gone crazy, but she drove him insane. I am not excusing him, but I have lectured my son growing up, that sooner or later he'd meet a crazy, I've seen them, they get up on a guy and poke their finger in a guys chest, they attack..go ahead, you a big man hit me hit me, and they hit. I told him run like crazy. Intuit Rihanna is a crazy. I don't think his life should be destroyed. I could be wrong, but you know, I might be right . Consider it.

The mentality of judgementalism seems rampant upon the entire content. We are no longer content to try cases in courty, we want blood. Is this global? I suspect it is. This is not normal.

  12. 12

Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777 – umm… pardon me but I don't have any cone head please stop the hate <3 What did we ever do to you? Does my city standing up for what they believe in really hinder your life in any way?

  13. NoCBinHali says – reply to this

The problem with Chris Brown isn't just that he beat a woman (which in and of itself is despicable), but the fact that he continues to display and engage in violent behaviour. It seems like every other week there's a new story reporting some type of aggression or fight. He has multiple violent crimes on his record and just had is parole revoked, any one who isn't famous and had a similar record would be allowed across the boarder and no exception should be made simply because he is a "celebrity".

People who support his go on and on about how he has paid for his crimes, that he donates to charities and donates to causes supporting abused women. Does anyone really believe that the money he spends doing this is of any consequence to him, it's not even a drop in the bucket, an amount that he would miss or would affect his life in any way. If he had really payed his debt to society and had learned from his "mistakes" he wouldn't continue to do the same thing over and over again.

  14. 14

Re: NoCBinHali – Amen I couldn't have said it better myself (:

  15. 15

I think I need to move to Canada. They seem to have some common sense that we are lacking here in the US.

  16. The Truth says – reply to this

One Big Issue for Brown going to Canada. Brown is a convicted Felon and is not allowed to enter Canada. They will not tell him not to come but they will deny him entry at the border.

And there is no exception for any convicted felon if they felony was within the past 5 years.

You go ahead to Canada and enjoy being rejected as a woman beating convicted felon.

    The Truth Hurts

chris' actions speak for themselves..he's been a douchebag ever since appearing on the award show singing "man in the mirror" karma has come for him & it's about time he paid for his actions

  21. 21

canadians like to talk they spend the first 20 mins explaining how they " arnt actually american" even thou they sound the same but the cone head speaks for itself…

Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777 – "why their foreheads are so huge" and wonder why you feel inferior…

  23. eh says – reply to this

Totally understand about Chris, but can you Canadians please take Justin PEEBER

  24. Devvie says – reply to this

Chris should be in jail and may be shortly. So should his little pal Justin Pee-ber. We need to deport Peeber before he kills someone with his driving or drug and alcohol fueled house parties for 14 year olds. He needs to be returned to Canada and they can deal with his antics. He's as big a loser as his buddy Chris.

  25. share says – reply to this

The US has pretty much embraced him. Award after award. He's never really understood the severity of his crime it's the reason why he continues to act out. Good for Canada!

  26. ok_then says – reply to this

As a Canadian I find this self righteousness embarrassing. Do these idiots not realize that any publicity is good publicity and all they are doing is guaranteeing a sold out concert for Chris Brown? Not to mention the sky high scalper tickets that this will produce it will turn out to be THE event of the year. These people may shout from the roof tops condemning Chris Brown but in the end it will be his fans that will make or break this concert. Complain all you want Halifax but the fans have spoken. I'm sure Chris Brown's management wish to thank all those involved for no doubt all the free publicity.

  27. ok_then says – reply to this

Re: Devvie – There is a big difference between the actions and expectations of a teenager and a grown man. Maybe if you grew up yourself and went back to school to learn how to read and write you could understand!

  28. haligonian says – reply to this

i so love my city and the causes we stand up for. this man should not get paid to act like a douche, and if i can help in not giving him another pay cheque, i will. i'd also like to note that the summer rush concert series is really only mediocre, it was much better a few years ago when they hooked some higher ticket artists like lady gaga. so prices of scalping and the like wont be that bad i imagine (plus, its in dartmouth, not as busy/popular as halifax).

and as for the individual insulting canadians as a whole, who do you think you are? cone heads? big heads? canada is a very large country and we don't all have big heads, nor have i witnessed anyone with a cone-shaped head.

  29. 29

Hit and run, violence against women….gosh knows what else but there is more for sure.
Someone like this is basically a criminal from top to bottom.

He is a sad pathetic excuse for the word 'man'. And yes, having any educated person 'cheer' for him or clap for him would sicken me also.

Bravo to Canada. He probably won't get passed the border crossing anyone due to his criminal convictions.

Canada also got rid of idiot Howard Sterns crap radio show, dmx cannot enter Canada for being a thug…and many many many many more. Stay in America….that is what made you.

  30. Truth says – reply to this

I'd like to see your country do the same to its own a$$hole… Justin Bieber!

  31. 31

canadians were also allegedly annoyed that they were further down the list on the worlds biggest schlongs than the usa netherlands being at the top…seems all the length went to the cone shape heads…eg giant foreheads to hold the superior brain…

  32. Jay says – reply to this

Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777 – If you want to insult Canadians as a whole, you should try to come up with a better (more believable?) insult than "cone heads" and perhaps someone will take you seriously.

5 years now and the guy can not get a break.Blogger write false story about him, people try to attack him cause they know he on probation and then he get also internet bully commenting on any blog about him.Look the men beat a girl it is wroung,But have he done it again no.Let the men live his life and the past stay in the past till he do it again, then u can judge.who never do wrong throw a stone. As for CB if u dont like his music stay away,But he going to get his die hard fan and they never going to go away.Let the men live and move on from his Teen mistake.

  35. Default Setteen says – reply to this

Re: Peo – I agree. People are getting blood thirsty. I never in my life thought I'd be defending Chris brown. But he paid the price for what he did and now it's just a witch hunt. I just don't know where people's common sense is.

Honestly, I don't like him BUT thetre is a huge difference between a sponsor dropping him and a sponsor dropping out of a festival he is just a part of. The article clearly says a sponsor of the festival, so saying the sponsor droppeed Chris Brown is very tabloid. What's next? Martian sponsors drop him too?

Its crazy how the same people who is ranting on about chris mistakes are the same ones that asks for forgiveness when they are wrong but won't forgive others.. he is learning from his past mistakes you don't have to keep criticizing about what he we get the fact that him and his ex girlfriend was fighting or him and drake arguing in a night club okay he asked forgiveness not asking for people to forget.

  47. hannah says – reply to this

Canada dry now I get the reason they put dry at the end of that soda despite Chris background Im a huge fan of his work.. he is a great dancer, actor, and singer .. why does his background have do depend on his music career "oh I don't listen to Chris Brown because he hit a girl" um that doesn't make sense his personal life is not his music he was forgiven.. no one cared about tina turner getting phyicall, and mentally abused by her ex-husband and he been beating her for years. Or halle berry exboyfriend beating her so bad she went deaf in oneear. Smh society today but him hitting rihanna matters because he is succeeding. When you make one suffer you should make all

  51. ThankGod says – reply to this

As someone who lives in Halifax THANK GOD! When I heard on the radio that Chris Brown was the big headline performer I nearly $hit my pants. Why do people still give him praise and money? He's done nothing but show time and time again that he doesn't care about the law or the safety of others. All he cares about is himself, his ego, and his keeping his reputation horrible. I hope they drop him from the concert, anybody else would be better. We need to stop rewarding a person who truly has an evil soul, or at minimum no soul.

  52. Haligonian2 says – reply to this

Re: perez posse SUPERFAN 777 – Yeah he paid for it alright. By faking his community service, having her battered face tattooed on his neck, and repeating his violent behavior. Sounds like he's real sorry he did it.

  53. Davey says – reply to this

I think four or five sponsors have already dropped out from the concert due to Chris Brown's appearance. I have no idea what this has to do with Canadian/American relations as his nationality is not the reason we don't want him here. I personally don't care for his music anyway, but he seems like a low-life douchebag so I hope he doesn't come here.

  54. El Wrob says – reply to this

The most upsetting thing about Chris Brown is that people are jaded and indifferent enough to keep shoveling money into his pockets. Shame on anyone who purchases a ticket to one of these shows. People cry about there being a different set of legal standards for celebrities, but have no problem giving those same celebrities a societal stamp of approval by continuing to support them financially. If you think that Chris Brown isn't a bad guy, or are able to look past his abuse of women because he wrote a catchy song, guess what? YOU are part of the problem.

  55. dzidzor says – reply to this

5yrs 5yrs 5yrs!!! we are no better dan he is, yet we are all pointing fingers forgetting we hve three of ours pointing @ us in da process. they (everyone in da media, entertainment ploticians and we ourselves) are steadily and slowly destroying him and the only thin facilitating dat is his arrogance n lack of total humility. sigh !! i trully feel sorry 4 him i believe he is sorry but da clock has been set, its only a matter of time dat they will mke him yesterdays news. oh God.!!

And he is not the only abuser in the world… at least he was man enough to own up to and suffer from abusing rihanna

  58. raemelis says – reply to this

Hmm didn't some 15 year old girl commit suicide after being bullied by the same story which followed her even though she moved for 2 years, her mother was a teacher, I think. Well Canadians, you should fix and take care of your own before you pass comments and criticism of a MAN who made mistakes which just happens to more publicised.

  59. raemelis says – reply to this

Re: El Wrob – My brothers physically abused me and so have other families been physically abused, they apologised sincerely and I accepted. So then why should my brothers apologise to the public? Its called personal problems, Rihanna has forgiven him, now why must he apologise to you?

  60. debby says – reply to this

People are so busy criticizing his life the forgot about all the other abusers in the world he's not the only one and I don't forgive this guy but I do feel sorry for him… I watched his Micheal Jackson contribute a few years back this was after everything happened between him and his girlfriend

  63. dzidzor says – reply to this

Re: El Wrob – i am a woman and no i dnt support abuse of women in any shape or form its not ryt . is it also ryt to punish some1 multiple times for a mistake they made once to the point of destroying thier source of livelihood ? i dnt think so its injustice @ its very core and no one deserves dat not even CB. and who are you to label him an abuser of women ? did he beat ur sister? an aunt perharps? no he did not. did u hear of him beating any woman b4 or after rihanna? da ans is no . so pls, kindly keep ur opinion to ur self thank you.

Chris Brown has paid for his past mistake. Leave him alone already. I think people are using his past mistakes to bully him. If he kills himself from depression behind things like this, how would you feel, how would you feel if this was your child? Look at you past mistakes, are you perfect, how would people judge you if they knew everything bad you've done. Leave this young man alone already. I am not a fan of his but I do believe in not judge unless you be judged.

Not only the Rihanna Incident i love her but she a little cra, but the frank ocean incident in which theres a fight & derogatorily comments, the Drake incident, the Hit & Run(false InfoSwap) dude just seems like a horrible person all around or maybe breezy just needs some attention.

Stop trying to stop a concert that other people want to see. Protest outside of it all you want, but there's people that want to see him. (IDK why but the dude has fans, so let him see them.)

What the mayor is saying is not a representation of all Canadian's beliefs. What Chris Brown has done is not a respresentation of solely American society either. It is individual vs individual, so lets stop the negativity towards each other. Its embarrassing….

Sincerely, a Haligonian with dual citizenship.
