Chris Brown is alienating Canada… one corporation and mayor at a time!
Today Centre for Arts and Technology-Halifax announced its withdrawal of sponsorship from the musical festival he is scheduled to headline on August 31.
Via Facebook, this statement was released:
“As an education institution, we can’t ignore the sentiments expressed on campus that participating in this year’s event goes against our collective values.”
This is is far from the first sponsor to wash its hands of the Energy Rush concert since Breezy announced he would perform there!
Earlier, the Don't Judge Me singer's reps even went on the defensive when they argued Chris is learning valuable lessons from his past mistakes!
Halifax Mayor Mike Savage doesn't buy it!!
He stands with many other Canadians protesting the convicted criminal's arrival, but his criticism is harsher than most and uttered from a much bigger pulpit!
Mayor Savage revealed:
“It makes me kind of sick, to be honest with you, that someone like this will be performing in Halifax,” he said in an interview on Saturday evening. “Those of us who are in public life – I’m in public life, he’s in public life – you have to be responsible for your past actions, and I think it sends a very, very wrong message to everybody. I’m not keen on the city supporting this in any way.”
Wow!!! He genuinely thinks Chris's presence could negatively affect his community — we wonder if he's right?
With so much time between now and the scheduled concert date, pretty much anything can happen so stay tuned for more updates!
