Cory Monteith's Autopsy Completed & Toxicology Reports Pending, But PD Hasn't Found Evidence Of Illegal Drug Use!

cory monteith death police no illicit drug use toxicology pending

We're still speechless after learning of Cory Monteith's sad and untimely passing, but Canadian law enforcement officials finished his autopsy on Monday and are working hard to figure out exactly what happened and why!

Sources close to the tragic situation previously said “numerous amounts of alcohol” and other unknown substances were found in the Glee star's Vancouver hotel room, but now we're learning there weren't any illegal drugs found at the scene.

While Cory suffered through his share of past substance abuse issues, Vancouver PD's Sgt. Randy Fincham says, so far, nothing indicates his death was related to illicit drug use.

Of course, just because cops didn't find any hard evidence at the scene doesn't mean drugs weren't an issue!!

It's possible perfectly legal prescription drugs played a factor, or it's possible illegal drugs were ingested somewhere else and that's why there are no traces in his hotel room.

At any rate, we won't have a definitive answer on what killed the 31-year-old actor until the toxicology reports come back later this week.

Regardless, there's a Cory-shaped hole in all of our hearts and we already miss him tremendously.

Our thoughts and well-wishes continue to go out to his family, cast-mates, friends, fans, and Lea Michele.

UPDATE: According to local law enforcement, Cory's autopsy was successfully completed on Monday.

B.C. Coroner Services spokeswoman Barb McLintock said:

“[The autopsy] was done today, and that included taking samples for toxicology.”

Initial results are expected as early as Tuesday, but additional tests may be ordered should those results prove inconclusive. Cory's family will be the first to receive notification of any breakthroughs in the case.

I for one hope is wasn't drugs and the media with then STFU about his previous problems.

I realize that the PD is making this public knowledge, but I really don't think you should be publishing the results of his autopsy. Say it were to be a drug overdose (legal or illegal), is tarnishing his name after death really worth a headline? No.

If it was or wasn't drugs it doesn't change the fact that he was a good person and loved by family and friends, the media should leave them alone.

Perez, you claim to care about him so much and are so upset about his death, that he was such a good friend to you. Why are you trying to tarnish his name by continuously pushing this drug overdose. Authorities have already said there was no drugs found, do you honestly think that after that disclosure of information, he would really have had an overdose? Are you seriously that desperate for views that you seriously NEED to push this drug addict agenda on him. He put himself INTO rehab ON HIS OWN. He's got such a good head on his shoulder that he knows when to get help. With a wedding coming up, do you honestly believe he would risk it and overdose. Stop being a shitty gossip blogger for once and actually praise him for his good qualities and not spew lies and assumptions without any factual evidence, especially when it's been already cleared that THERE WASN'T drugs found.

leave Chris alone he has tried very hard to stay out of trouble but trouble keep finding him. people judge him without all the facts. Drake and his boys started the fight at the night club yet Chris got hurt and blamed. This lady lied on him and she is out for blood and she has media bias. Rihanna forgave him and I get so angry when people can't move beyond stupid. We all have messed up in life and if you can't forgive Chris God will not forgive you.

You claim to be so sad about his death but then you seem so desperate to hear that he died because of drugs… I really hope he died for other reason, so the media clowns can let him rest in peace and stop mentioning his past problems with drugs… It's a shame that such a good and talented person died, no matter what happened. He was my favorite on Glee and now nothing will be the same… RIP Cory, we will always love you!!!

You can't help but cast shadows on the dead can you? Oh except when it's against the agenda your PC pals! No evidence of illicit drugs "but that doesn't mean" there were not any! Just remember when you're found dead in a hotel\motel some gossip monger will cast black shadows over your demise; not sparing your son from the alleged details!

Illicit drug use doesn't mean illegal. Taking too much of the medicated about prescribed is illicit drug use. But his autopsy was clean so thank goodness this isn't another Anna Nicole Smith situation. How tragic ):

Re: sad news – we as fans care about him…Those who think a drug overdose would change the way fans look at him is completely wrong. I would hope if they do find that drugs were the case… his family would recognize the type of message Cory would want to send… he was always open about his drug use (that didnt stop him from being FInn Hudson) and if he did pass because of drugs, then wouldnt he want the message to spread throughout?? To say that this could be anybody? I truly believe that he loved his fans enough to let them know what is going on.

His reputation and past drug use should be fair game…if it is drugs maybe we can take pictures of ourselves laying in a hotel with coke or Meth and alcohol and call it "CORYING

What few posting here seem to acknowledge, this poor guy was a public figure, therefore everything about his life, and passing, will be public. He was young and fit, so if medication/drugs/alcohol didn't contribute to his untimely passing, what do you imagine did? Drugs kill. That should not be kept secret. And it kills whether you are famous, rich and healthy looking…or not. It's something that should be disclosed. Also, the way addicts die from an overdose is usually a relapse after going clean. Because their bodies' cannot handle the dose of the substance they ingest, and they usually take the same dosage as when they were addicts. Fact of the matter is, dying from drugs should not be swept under the carpet to save soomeone's reputation. It should be a warning to those still alive.

I would love to hear them say it had nothing to do with drugs. There isn't anything, anyone could say to make him look bad. Let him rest in peace.

Re: Kelly – As a fan, I would rather know how he died rather than not. I think it'll bring closure to fans worldwide, and whether it is due to an overdose or otherwise, it still doesn't change the fact that he changed a lot of lives, mine included, and doesn't tarnish the fact that he was a beautiful soul.

Cory will truly be missed .im still shell shocked itslike i cant wrap my head around this news. Wether or not drugs/alcohol played a roll in his death he was still a good person . And i am so proud of him for his accomplishments

I understand there will be speculation, but out of respect for the man and his loved ones why don't we keep it to ourselves?

Re: areyouserious – Monteith was not a good friend of Mario's. Did you ever see pictures of the two of them together, hanging out? If they had hung out, Mario would've documented it and posted the pics every five minutes because it would've validated his pathetic existence. He's not a bit upset about the guy dying because he's making money off it. A REAL friend wouldn't do that no matter WHAT he does for a living. This is why Perez doesn't keep friends. He's an abusive user.

Re: annie bradley – What are you talking about? You're clearly on the wrong page. This article is about Cory Monteith, not that waste-of-life Chris Brown. And you might want to learn how to sound a little more intelligent when you write, especially if the topic of your comment does you no justice in the intelligence department.

  18. Amy says – reply to this

RIP Cory Monteith, you were very loved. On a side note with everyone commenting that drugs killed him, don't speculate - this man worked his ass off in Rehab and was very open about his addictions which says a lot about who he was. I think people should realize that even though he went through drug rehab and was clean this could have been his body giving out after years of abuse - coming off drugs takes a very large toll on the body and if you have ever been in a detox rehab you would know it can cause a lot of strain on the heart and other organs. Sadly, there is a large chance that he was clean but his body just gave up the fight.

How come we had to wait WEEKS for Heath Ledgers tox report? Is Canada's medical labs really that more efficient, cuz we all wanted to know what happened to Heath and we had to be patient.

So sad! We should say thank you Perez for being respectful in your posts unlike some media outlets. Cory was a genuine talent and will be missed!

  21. mermaidtoes says – reply to this

Actually a large amount of HEROIN was found in his system along with alcohol. Last time I checked H is very much illegal, as well as the worst turn to drug abuse.

So sad he went down that road, he was great and never got to live up to his fullest potential.

As for you Perez, Next time get you facts straight before headlining BS
