Cory Monteith's Family Urges Fans To Not Let Autopsy Results Overshadow All The Good He's Done

cory monteith family asks to remember fondly not based on autopsy

Fans are still waiting to hear what might have been the cause of Cory Monteith's death.

And while there are lots of rumors that drugs and alcohol might have been involved, his family doesn't want to think about that and they also don't want the fans to think about that.

With the autopsy complete, Cory's family hopes the results don't play any role in how he will be remembered.

Cory's cousin, Richard Monteith, has spoken out about how the family hopes his fans will handle the sudden and tragic death of the Glee star. He said:

"Please don’t judge on what is gonna be coming out. Glass half full. All the good things that he’s done. There’s more things on that side to focus on … As guys, we didn’t really talk too much about problems. But for me, anyways, that’s not the focus. People are gonna focus on this last chapter as a bad thing. Don’t use the last chapter do judge someone’s life … Because his life is full of beautiful stories and failures and successes. It doesn’t matter about his problems. It matters about the lives he changed. It matters that he was genuine."

We couldn't agree more!

Whatever the reason for Cory's death, he's clearly touched many lives and given lots of love to others.

We hope that he continues to be remembered as fondly after the autopsy as he has been remembered this week.

You are really milking this one aren't you?

I don't care what the autopsy results say–I will love him forever

  3. 3

Truth be told I don't see why they have to let the public know the cause anyway . . .

Just thought you'd wanna see this Perez. I cant even believe this! Disrespecting him like this, and they call themselves people of god…hypocrites if you ask me. Makes me sick this westboro church.

Sounds like his cousin already knows the results of the autopsy results.

    Re: Just another Mom
not exactly… Perez doesn't write many of his own posts anymore. Plus he began to receive a great deal of negative feedback, so that played a role in his eventual decision to tone it down and be kinder.

I never have been a Glee fan, but I feel really bad for him. I feel bad for most people who struggle with addiction their whole life. He was clean, and he relapsed. Something so common in the NA/AA crowd. And I think if you have ever went through this, you would know what a dark time relapsing is, and how bad you felt afterwards. I know it's not 100% confirmed that drugs are the cause, but it seems likely. All I have to say is the clean life is the better life, and R.I.P.

Oh shut up Perez, you out of many of the news reporters are milking the drug speculation the most! Every 10 minutes you are putting up headlines about how he did drugs or went to an AA meeting. Most of us know he was a great guy, even if he ODed and died we know he was more honest about his struggles and used them to inspire others more than any other actor out there

It's been a few days, but I'm still not accepting or thinking that he's really gone. So surreal. Cory is truly amazing. I will forever love and idolize him. If you really are a true fan, you wouldn't judge him on all the faults he has done. I believe that Cory is so strong to go in his way to get better. It's that he tried to get better. No matter what the result turns out to be, it will never change my view on him. I am hoping that his family, friends, and especially Lea will be able to get through this tragedy. And of course stay strong fellow gleeks!

Another dead junky….Surprise, surprise. You do drugs and die. No big mystery.

I do not like reading this statement about how it doesnt matter about his problems. Maybe it should have or could have mattered more. I have lost a loved one to drugs. I hope the so called friends that partied with him remember just how much they loved him. (yes, SARCASM). So sad and another life taken from this ugly addiction.

Re: julie – I agree so much. How could his 'friends' that he was with have let something like this happen? Of course I wanted to know the cause like most others but I will never judge him and I am schocked that this has happened. This is so heartbreaking. I will always look up to him. He is and always will be an incredible person. I love you Cory <3

That's every freaking drug addicts story. Tortured souls, who right demons. Mental illness doesn't discriminate between the rich and poor.
