Iowa Court Rules It's OK To Be Fired For Being Too Hot!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooWacky, Tacky & TrueEtc.

Melissa Nelson Dental Assistant Fired

Well no wonder Ashton Kutcher, Nia Long and Elijah Wood got out of Iowa! With their good looks, those hotties would have never stood a chance working a job in their home state!

That's because it is now perfectly legal to be FIRED for being hot in Iowa!

Dental assistant Melissa Nelson found out the hard way after her boss, Dr. James Knight, terminated her last year due to the fact that he found Melissa to be 'irresistible'!

Melissa fought back and brought her discrimination case all the way to the Iowa Supreme Court!

We guess she was too hot for the justice system too because SHE LOST!

Nelson and her lawyer were given some good news this year though, when they were granted a motion by the court to reconsider her case - something that almost NEVER happens.

Well the verdict is in and once AGAIN, Melissa's firing was deemed legal by an all-male court!

Sad. Sad. Sad.

Chief Justice Mark Cady explained the court's decision, saying:

"Nelson was terminated because of the activities of her consensual personal relationship with her employer, not because of her gender."

Keep in mind, Melissa never had an affair with her boss and was not in any sort of a romantic involvement with him. In fact, Melissa likened their relationship to that of a father and daughter. She had been working for Knight for more than 10 years!

Since losing her job, Melissa, who is married with 2 children, has been waiting tables to try and make ends meet.

We wish you the best of luck, Melissa! And whatever you do, try not to look so pretty! It might cost you another job! Or, maybe you should make like your fellow famous Iowans and move the heck out of that crazy state!!!

Perez, Iowa was the third state in the nation to legalize same-sex marriage…Still think it's a "crazy state?"

Perez- you should look more into this case. There's more too it. This woman was no good- she was being office skanky with her boss and his wife caught on. Does that make it right? No. But both of them are scum. She was fired because it's his business and his wife gave him an ultimatum. If you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar it'll get smacked! The court isn't ruling it's okay to fire her because she's hot- they're ruling that her claim is baseless because she was doing wrong and got caught and her job was what it cost her.

Nelson was terminated because of the activities of her consensual personal relationship with her employer, not because of her gender." that speaks volumes…

I mean, I could see why he did it. He felt that he could not maintain a professional relationship with her. He couldn't fire himself! I think it sucks that she lost her job, but why hasn't she been able to get another job other than waiting tables? She is qualified to at least work in customer service and make twice as much. It's not the best situation but sounds like someone went on and got a shitty job to help her chances in court and not because she had to.

I'm glad that slut whore got fired. How can anyone agree that going to work and KNOWINGLY have and affair with a married man, and has the AUDACITY to sue him because of course the wife doesn't want that hooker whore working there anymore is ok? that boggles my mind. Perez we all know you have no morals, but this takes the cake!

You guys should really do your homework before accusing people of adultery. She didn't have an affair with him, she was texting him outside of work, she claims about their (non-related) children. There was no evidence that she texted him about anything that wasn't G-rated. His wife caught wind that they were texting outside of work and insisted he fire her. The courts deemed it legal because, "The decision was based on feelings, not gender." So because his wife told him to, and he couldn't control himself enough to be able to guarantee he wouldn't have an affair, he fired her.

I think there is a lot more to this story than what was even brought to the courts. He and his wife need marriage counseling, because he can't fire every female hygienist and have it not look like gender discrimination, just because she's insecure in her marriage.

Calling this lady "hot" or "attractive"….is a giant leap…she is icky

  12. 12

I guess "hot" is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure she has a great personality.

  13. 13

I was fired cause of my tattoos haha. you can only wear long sleeves long enough. until you piss someone off

Wow, if this girl is considered "hot" then I wonder what verdict they would give to someone who is ACTUALLY hot.

  15. 15

What a beyond BS lawsuit, no wonder she lost. It's kinda hard to use the defense "I was fired for being too hot and irresistible" when she was working for the guy for 10 years. for one, it's not in our nature to find a girl hotter as she ages LMAO.

I'm from Iowa and I'm personally offended by your remarks about my wonderful state. I have to agree with Sarah who mentioned you should look a little closer at this case. She was not fired because she was "hot", she was fired because she was involved with her boss outside of work in a way that does not reflect normal employee-employer relations. And it is true they didn't sleep together but that doesn't mean it wasn't heading that way so who are you to say that someone shouldn't prevent that from happening while they still can. Yes, the dentist should have given her options for work elsewhere or provided some kind of assistance but I don't believe he did the wrong thing in firing here. To bring it all back to what I first said, if you offend Iowa like this again I will no longer read your website. I know one person may not matter to you but I've been a loyal reader for over five years and I will highly suggest to anyone I know or meet to not visit this website. I bet you haven't even been to Iowa.

That "crazy state" was one of the first to legalize gay marriage you tool. As a proud Iowan I think it's SUPER offensive when you call my home state names. Do you EVER think before you rant?

They need to focus on the true issue, which is that the wife of the dentist came into the office and left the purple folder on desk in front of the hygienist, and the wife was mad that her husband was texting the hygienist, while the hygienist was on vacation with her husband. They need to focus on the real issue. The wife orchestrated this whole ordeal. She has a right to save her marriage, but the hygienist wasn't doing anything to put their marriage in jeopardy, and wasn't planning on it. The dentist might have been infatuated with the hygienist, but the hygienist was happily married and uninterested in his advances.
