cory monteith lea michele rep releases comment about death opt

We can't imagine what Lea Michele is going through.

It's been such a hard road, but her love with Cory Monteith was not only strong, but honest.

And now, following the coroner's announcement of Cory's cause of death (a "mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol"), the Glee actress has released an official statement.

A statement by her reps reads:

"Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them.

They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family."

Our hearts go out to Lea and Cory's family.

This is so sad. I didnt watch Glee but for someone's life to be taken on a poor decision is heartbreaking.

I never really watched Glee, but I can't believe this. It seemed like he was really happy after rehab. I guess it is just that hope we have for the person thinking they are really over the addictions. I feel bad for Lea.. She seemed so happy and so in love talking when she talked about him and her face lit up when she was taking pictures with him. Like Sally said, I was rooting hard for him too. I was hoping it wasn't drugs, and that it was maybe a complication from his prior drug use.. I hope that last part didn't come out wrong. I just don't get how people who "have it all" get into these situations. Everyone talked so highly of him, but what I keep thinking is where were his friends that he hung out with that day? Did they supply those drugs? Did they do it with him?

I was really hoping it wasnt drugs - I even convinced myself that it wasn't. Rest in Peace, Cory. You were an amazing, talented actor. We miss you.

According to local canadian entertainment news show Etalk! Lea is still holed up in her L.A house unable to leave due to media heat, but will try and make her way to Canada once the body is released to family…

I'm soooo sad to know about this…
I was really rooting for him and hoping that drugs wasn't the cause, it just make it even more sad, to see someone so talented and a beautiful young boy die like that, alone with no one to help him….
    I'm so sorry…. Can't imagine. Poor boy.
    May he now RIP.

Re: Natalie – unfortunately it makes me sad when people say celebrities "have it all" because as fan, we don't know what is lying underneath or what demons they're hiding. Cory was very open with his fans about what was going on, but that doesn't mean there wasn't more going on.

I've may have watched a total of 1 episode of Glee the entire time it has been on the air, but even though I wasn't a fan of this show, I have always thought that there was something about this young man that was really special. Something about him that drew you in. For some reason, I always payed attention whenever I saw him in magazines, on the news, a red carpet. He had a light about him and seemed like such a sweetheart. Just so precious. It just goes to show that you can be a good and decent guy and a good person, but still struggle with demons in your life. It's just so sad that Cory couldn't conquer his. So sad and tragic. This poor, sweet guy. :(

I watched Glee a lot. I loved all the characters so much. Cory was a spectacular actor and singer. It's really sad what happened and tragic. I really didn't think anything like this would happen. As his character, Cory always walked with a fun bounce in his step. He is someone who I will never stop listening to sing. I hope Lea and his family are ok. We love and miss you Cory, may you rest in peace.

wouldn't the fact that you keep posting about his passing, be infringing on the privacy of the matter? just saying …..

My wife and I have watched the show from the start and we were both saddened by the news. By all accounts, he seemed like a good young man with a long career ahead of him. It's a senseless tragedy we've seen too many times before. Our condolences to his family, his friends, and to Lea.

You're all pathetic twats. Montheith made the choice to use drugs; he did this to himself. Don't give me that shit about addiction, either. Once out of rehab, he CHOSE to use again. What's so "sad" here is that he was a spineless dipshit who went right back to shooting up and drinking instead of staying sober. As for Lea Michele, she'll be milking this situation for as much attention as she can get. The probable truth is that she's not trapped in her house; his family probably can't stand her either (why was he alone in Canada?), and instead of being humiliated by their dislike, she's keeping her distance. I doubt she's helping to "plan" anything.

Re: Natalie – from our end we think they have it all and they think we do. he had money and fame but what money cant buy was the strength it required to start that up hill battle of recovery. in a room of a million you still feel alone . and he appeared to have everything that would make a normal man smile and be happy . but do you have any idea what its like to have to self medicate yourself to try to feel that feeling of HAPPY-LOVE or HOPE ? anybody would say just do it be happy or be hopeful but you can't bc he felt empty

Re: Wow Are You An Idiot – I WOULD RATHER BE A PATHETIC TWAT THAN A SOUL LESS - HEARTLESS - TWAT DID YOU NOT GET ENOUGH ATTENTION AS A CHILD. NOT ENOUGH HUGS? HAVE YOUR OWN STRUGGLES AND THEY TOLD YOU TO STFU AND MOVE ON? OR YOU NEVER HAVE HAD AN ADDICTION AND MKING MEANINGLESS ASSUMPTIONS? MAKES YOU A BITCH AND PRAY FORFRIENDS OR SUPPORT WHEN YOUR TIME COMES TO NEED UNDERSTANDING AND SUPPORT . DIRTY HOLE

Re: Wow Are You An Idiot
That was incredibly disrespectful. You should be ashamed. If you want to say something like that to the faces of the family who has just lost their loved one, be my guest. Just don't hide behind your computer screen and anonymously spread nasty, disrespectful bile across the internet.

Cory, started using drogs way before his fame on Glee. Addiction is something really hard to fight and to break. He now had the financial means to fuel his addiction. This is very sad. We all have to remember that actors and singers are also people with the same dilemas and issues that most humans. The fact that they have so much money just fuels up some problems more. I'm disgusted at the "friends" who went drinking with him. knowing that the guy was battling addictions. I understand that an addict is the ultimate person responsible for his actions, but for others to support this, it's just really discusting. I hope they can live with this.

  21. 21

@ WOW - you have obviously never dealt with addiction or had a close friend / relative who has battled addiction. To choose not to do drugs is not that simple when you are addict. If it was such an easy choice, there wouldn't be any deaths related to drugs. Drugs are just a symptom of something deeper going on.
