boston marathon bombing suspect dzhokhar tsarnaev rolling stone cover

We're pretty sure this isn't who Dr. Hook had in mind!

The most recent cover of the Rolling Stone features a full-sized pic of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who recently pled Not Guilty to 30 charges in relation to the Boston Marathon Bombing.

Rather than his oft-seen mug shot, the entertainment magazine opted for a fairly casual shot of Tsaernev with the caption "The Bomber".

Rolling Stone is being lambasted by critics who say the cover glorifies the alleged murderer, turning him into a celebrity.

Is the cover too glamorous? What do U think?

Wtf? He looks like a hot rocker. Thought it was one if the guys from Vampire Weekend. People magazine or Time should do this, but with a mugshot. This is too weird.

If anyone is calling out Rolling Stones, they need to call out every media outlet in the U.S. Regardless if it's a cover or a news story. The media focuses on the killer not the killed.

I mean, Rolling Stone can not be lumped together with every other media outlet because it is CLEARLY different. But, RS also has never exclusively had people in music, film or TV on their cover. Charles Manson was their cover in 1970. I obviously don't like that they've given this guy "bragging rights" to such an honor, but I can also see their angle. And I'd probably prefer to read the actual article before I rush to judgement, being that this isn't the first time they've put someone like him on the cover.

Re: trinigirl123 – I agree - a mug shot would have been better. At first glance I thought this was an old RS cover of Jim Morrison.

The picture is almost flawless it looks like he did a photo shoot for them, its weird.

As a Bostonian and a member of the MIT community, I take huge issue with glamorizing the alleged bomber/murderer of Officer Collier. The article itself does not offend me; however, I would rather read about the victims and those recovering. That was a terrifying and traumatic week, and I personally have no interest in reading about the person who allegedly inflicted that fear on my neighbors and me. I don't know how I would have felt if they used a mugshot, but this particular photo and layout definitely suggests glamorizing a murderer. That is the issue.

Omg! I think most the people who voted yes must have thought the sentence said inappropriate instead of appropriate like I did. I believe a murder and definitely a terrorist should never be on the cover of a magazine unless they are dead in the picture. Why glorifiy their actions. I'm sure it was Time magazines greatest regret putting Hitler on their cover. If I were a victim of the Boston bombings I would be sick! The article better show him as the scum he is.

I've heard he was set up. Maybe he's not guilty. Innocent until proven guilty.

I would be pissed if this magazine came to my mail box. How disrespectful to the victims and families.

if people could actually read, they wouldn't take that much offense. the image clearly shows tsarnaev BEFORE "the fall". some sort of an "it could happen to you"-angle. and who knows? maybe tsarnaev was manipulated by his older brother? maybe not! we'll find out soon.

It's not the article that's the major problem, it's the cover. I might be interested to read the article, but glamorizing him on the cover as a rock star terrorist is unacceptable. If you want to make this article such a feature, why not put one or more of the victims on the cover? Just a different cover all together is necessary.

I think this is completely inappropriate. Some stores wont be carrying this issue.

CVS has stated it wont carry this issues. It seems to glorify the suspect.

Rolling Stones’ cover glorifying Dzhokhar Tsarnaev irked Actor Dean Cain and many FOXNEWS Zombies. I really enjoyed reading about every moment of their pathetic pain. Rolling Stone, Contributing Editor Janet Reitman insulted Dzhokhar Tsarnaev saying that the reason for being radicalized is that Dzhokhar American Dream was ditched by the West. That’s ain’t true. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev despised America and American lifestyle, he was Uhauled as toddler by his parents to USA to survive on the residues of the kickbacks that his uncle Raslan received from the oil cartel who loots Kazakhstan hydrocarbons as we speak and bribes for tipping CIA about Chechens. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev the Pressure-Cooker-Bomb genius Inventor told the whole world: “if you lie in USA they let you lose to author an autobiography & write your own bestseller and if you tell the truth they put you away for life”. The credit goes all the way to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who turned Americans to deranged zombies shooting at anything that moves on their way hoping it’s a Muslim. Kudos Jahar Tsarnaev.
