Glee has nothing to be happy about in the wake of Cory Monteith's tragic passing, but they do have to figure out the fate of the show.

Rumor has it, Glee's writers have called an emergency meeting today to figure out how to work Finn Hudson out of the story.

This comes days after we heard the execs locked their own doors to discuss the show's direction.

A source close to production revealed:

Glee is definitely not canceled. If you look at the dollars and cents of the show and that it was very much an ensemble with new kids being added last year when some graduated. It’s clear that the show wasn’t about one character."

The source adds:

"The producers and writers are taking time to meet and figure out how to best address this situation in the context of Glee. No decision has been reached about a script yet, as it’s still early."

We think these alleged conversations are going to be put on hold anyway, especially to give everyone sufficient time to grieve!

We are still in total shock over this tragedy.

They should just cancel it. It's really too gay for TV anyhow.

The only idiot here is you for saying something ignorant like that. If you don't like the show, don't watch it. Meanwhile there's millions of people who enjoy it so shut up.

I think this is a great, albeit very sad, opportunity to treat the problem of drug addiction in high school. For once, art can imitate life, instead of the other way around.

it's not about one character, it's about who is affected. glee can't go on without rachel and rachel can't go on without finn, and the new kids only "worked" because there was old characters still there, because their storylines were horrible. it doesn't matter anymore, glee is over for me, for a time it was the only thing that made me smile sometimes and now it only makes me sad

Seriously, some of you are so cruel. The people of the United States are so ignorant, I only know some people who are truly nice, genuine people. There is no need to say anything mean at any time. About people or shows.

why do they even bother. I'm not watching it after this season. And I will probably stop watching it in the middle. It'll never be the same without him. NEVER! )':

Cancel the show. Do a Glee movie in a couple of years if Lea is up to it. Have Finn be one of those guys from highschool that moves to a foreign country, falls in love and never looks back. No need to kill him off and make it a teaching moment, especially if that's not what his family wants. Maybe they want his famous character to get a happy ending and not echo Cory's sad end.

If the show comes back, have a long break, consider giving Lea a half season/full season off (but that might very well lead to midseason cancellation! She's the biggest star!). Start the show with a dedication from Ryan Murphy or one of the actors, where they discuss Cory's sad demise, how much they loved him, the dangers of drug abuse, and how the show will wrap up his character in a way that respects his family wishes and does not ask too much of his cast mates. The fans will understand that you can't have a whole mourning episode with Lea breaking down in front of his casket. Too insensitive.

clearly they are so stupid. the show is nothing with finn because finn completes rachel. rachel should leave, they should not expect or want lea to carry on without cory. and rachel is the only reason ppl still watch. most of us dont give a crap about the new ones
