I dont really think they went to far. Its just a magazine, it has no effect on our personal lives so i dont know why people are getting upset and saying they will never buy another rolling stone magazine EVER AGAIN! lol its so stupid. Just a magazine people, he was already famous before it.

I agree with Katie. We have had Charles mansion hitler an Osama bin laden on covers what is so different?

I must have missed the Rolling Stone cover featuring an attractive headshot of Timothy McVeigh and an article exploring his motivations and journey from being an innocent kid. Oh wait, maybe there never was just an issue.

They are PIGS for putting what looks like a modeling cover shot on the cover. They should have used his mug shot.

"Rolling Stone Magazine" has always been so far to the left in their political, hate-America views that they have one foot in Moscow. I cancelled my subscription years ago over their extreme anti-American writings, because they couldn't stand to just write about music. Glorifying this guy is evil.

@Muskratlove are you an idiot some of the liberals that have appeared on the Cover of Rolling Stone actually love this Country dearly even if they weren't born here Paul McCartney would be an example he spearheaded the Concert For New York City after 9/11 and was inspired to do so being trapped in the city on that horrific day. another example would be Paul Newman who was dressed as a farm boy when he appeared on the cover of the July 14th 1973 issue. though them putting Tsarnaev on the cover was in putrid taste especially for the victims and survivors of the bombings

Censoring photos of news subjects wouldn't be freedom. Rolling Stone has always tackled current events, and have a history of writers who try to tackle it (and show it) like it is.
There is NO reason for photo police when it's a controversial person's face.

Especially don't like this line: "…Failed by his parents…" That's an excuse line, a blame someone else line, not totally my fault, etc. And once again, people suck.

What's different is that this is a good looking, attractive young man! He is the guy next door! He is the face of evil! We can not continue to talk about evil as if you can pick them out in a crowd (witches & trolls) This could of been my son with everything going for him: superb student, supportive family and community etc. The point of the article is just that -What is important to them? Who are they looking up to? I say thank you to Rolling Stone for teaching the masses what so many of them wish to ignore. "Who knows what Evil lurks in the hearts of men…." It was okay to show the Aurora shooter because of his orange hair - McVeigh and the Columbine shooters were on covers as was Lee Harvey Oswald. This country allows us freedom and I guess everyone has the freedom to voice their ignorance.

no different than barack obama on a cover. Both terrorists
