cory monteith vancouver memorial lea michele visit

Lea Michele is still trying to accept the sudden death of her beloved BF (or fiance?) Cory Monteith.

In mourning of her untimely loss, the Glee star is said to have visited the hotel where the love of her life took his final breath last Saturday after a fatal hit of heroin.

With huge sunnies and a swarm of bodyguards, the heartbroken actress arrived at Vancouver's Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel to take in the makeshift memorial built by fans.

A dear friend of Cory's, Rik Feydick, witnessed:

"I saw Lea about an hour after the family saw the body at the hospital. There were two huge SUVs out front and Lea was in the back seat of one, sitting between two bodyguards. She was wearing her signature huge black shades. Lea never got out of the vehicle.”

UGH. The thought of our gurl in so much pain brings tears to our eyes.

She's taking the healthy steps necessary to grieve, but unfortunately, we're not sure her heart will ever truly mend.

If only we could do something to take her pain away.

Secretly still hoping that it was all a sick joke, brings me to tears that it isn't..
Can't even imagine how she's feeling right now.
Cory, you were amazing and you will never be forgotten, we Gleeks know you'll take care of Lea from up there.

You shouldn't make me laugh at this tragic event. The way you word things IS designed to get the most drama, but when I read "where the love of her life took his final breath", I laughed to myself.

    That's wrong.

One point that's important to correct here — it wasn't a fatal hit of heroin ALONE that killed Cory. It was the combo of heroin and alcohol. His lowered resistance from having been in rehab probably did mean that the dose of heroin he took was more than he could handle, but drinking too was the fatal blow. The two things together depressed his CNS so much that he couldn't revive. It's heartbreaking, but I pray that his death is a wake-up call for those who think that only people who "look like scumbags" are drug users, or that you can ever be "over" heroin. He couldn't have been more handsome or clean-cut looking, and he always seemed to be in control of his problem — so tragic.

You don't ever really "mend" when someone you love dies. It's always there - it just moves a little less close to the front - but it is always hiding there. Little things make you remember at the oddest times. After some time you learn to keep moving on with your ife, you do some things in tribute to that person.l But you never forget. It will be 24 years on Aug 8 that by BF hung himself. I have not forgotten. I visit the cemetary less. I can't face "hangmen" at Halloween or in movies. I HATE that stupid movie "IT's a Wonderful Life" that suggest an Angel will save people trying to die… I can't hear certain music. I changed who I was. You just learn to keep going forward.

I wish it had all been a dream, and we'll wake up one day and see Cory still playing his role in Glee. But sadly, it wasn't a dream. Everyone, Cory is not dead. He either took a midnight train to somewhere, or he had just decided to move to a better place.

Re: kabuki girl – I can relate. And I can relate to Lea too. Losing the love of your life, your soul mate, is so devastating. Yes, you get stronger, you heal a little, you learn to cope with it and live with it, but you never, ever get over it.

When I heard the news about Cory I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. I've been a fan of Glee ever since it started and with a show like that you get drawn in and you start to feel as though it's part of you. I use to watch Glee because I loved Cory. He made me laugh and he's dancing…just wow. He couldn't dance, but it never stopped him. You can see in any episode of Glee, with Finn and Rachel in, that they were in love and that's how you imagine Cory and Lea were off set and in real life. You can see it in every picture and clip. They were in love. It's such a shame he's past came back to haunt him, but I think we all know he'd strongly advise people not to do what he did. He had a great future ahead of him. My heart goes out to his family, the Glee family and Lea. He'll never be forgotten.

I went back to the hospital room my husband passed in. He was only 29. His dr took photos of the room when it was empty. I will treasure them forever. When the time is right she should visit the hotel again.
