Man Arrested For Threatening To Go Dexter On Nancy Grace And Jane Velez Mitchell!

Nancy Grace and Jane Velez Mitchell can breathe a sigh of relief!

David Lee Simpson, the 48-year old man who threatened to tie them naked to a tree, "leave them to suffer all night," and then slit their throats, has been caught, having guns, binoculars, zip ties, a knife and a police radio in his possession at the time of his arrest.

What the what! Glad this American Horror Story has been put behind bars!

David was apparently upset about the hosts' coverage of the Jodi Arias trial when he made the threats. According to one source however, CNN didn't take these threats lightly:

“CNN took the threats very seriously and both Grace and Velez-Mitchell were aware of the threats from Simpson during the end of the Arias trial and throughout the George Zimmerman trial but they continued to do their live shows on location.”

The source went on to say that the threat became a real danger when David quit his job and sold all his belongings.

Whoa, so scary! We're just glad that Nancy and Jane are safe!

This fairly recent (15 years maybe?) practice of t.v. shows editorializing trials (and news) rather than simply reporting the who, what, where, when, why and trial outcomes seems to promote extreme polarization in certain individuals. I preferred news that left it up to the viewer to decide what their personal stance was based on facts presented as opposed to sensationalization for ratings. The old way of presenting news was more socially responsible, because it wasn't skewed in a way that fired up the populace.

I used to watch Nancy Grace a long time ago when she was on CNN and liked her then but it was so annoying when she kept bringing up her fiance who got killed. I am really sorry for her loss, having lost my husband a few years ago. I know you never get over it, but she needs to stop dragging this in. Also she needs to stop interrupting people, that is just so rude.

Well… first mistake is to ANNOUNCE your evil intentions. If you're going to commit such deeds, you shut up, plan it as much as something like that can be planned (make allowances for the unexpected and have more than one exit strategy), truly not give a shit anymore about what happens to yourself cause chances are you're going to be killed, and just DO IT.

I am so glad to hear Nancy and Jane are safe. I wish I could say the same for myself. I live in Twin Falls, Idaho and was recently, almost killed by Lendol Cunningham, a three time felon with a history of violence against women. He once threatened his ex wife with sexually abusing her children then cutting them up in little pieces. I have no money to hire an attorney and so he was only charged with disturbing the peace. This man is allowed to be free to deal and use drugs one block from Lincoln Elementary School where my granddaughter attends school. I am told nothing can be done, I just have to wait and see if he decides to kill me or one of my family members, while he is in a drug induced stupor. This man has broken every law there is and yet the law protects him and tells me, my life and the lives of my family members mean absolutely nothing, because the city of Twin Falls doesn't have money to prosecute such matters. Our prsoecuting attorney, Fritz Wonderlich just got a 76,000 raise but won't help or protect any citizens that don't have money, this is justice in Twin Falls, Idaho_ when you are dead we will do something. I hope you and your families have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
