Armie Hammer has the charisma of a root vegetable. Each time he opened his mouth a glistening nugget of shite came out. Plus, Johnny needs to ease up on the Shtick, he used to be able to act without all the makeup. Not surprised this sucked.

he didn't care when he was called "box office poison" in the 90'. He didn't care when all his movie were blockbuster…why would he care now?
That's what the people and critics still don't get about Johnny. He only wants to have fun! that's why he does the movies he does and that's why he's like the real life Peter Pan…the man who refuses to grow up. refuses to do movies to win Oscars, refuses to read the critics. This is part of his charm, but also his karma!
Anyway, just having "fun" the man achieved his reputation as screen legend, so leave him alone!

Re: Meh – or his not caring may have something to do with the fact that he gets paid regardless so why would he care! He has a loyal fan base who praises everything he does and goes ape anytime anyone even tries to be objective about his work! He can coast for the rest of his career…

Go Johnny!!!!! The movie didn't open in the US as expected b/c the idiot critics trashed it and yet intelligent people let themselves to be brainwashed by them. If 80% of the audiences liked it vs. the 20% of the critics on opening that tell us that the critics know nothing. It also opened on holiday weekend (July 4) against Despicable Me2 which did not help. I saw the movie 3 times and loved it just as much. The entire audiences were laughing and enjoyed the movie right until the end. If you see reviews, check out the responses b/c most people really loved the movie and have gone back more than once to see it again.

C'mon Johnny is the best actor. It's a pity, because the film is very good. The cast and Johnny are awesome.
I still think that is Amber who brings bad luck. She brought bad luck to Nick Cage and since she worked with Depp, all his films has had bad results

If they would've made this movie with Channing Tatum and some really cool Latino/part Native American actor it would've been a hit. And they wouldn't have to spend all the money it costs them to hire Johnny Depp. He is OVAH! . He is so completely out of touch he sounds ridiculous most of the time. The fact this movie flopped is going to cost him that's why he's ranting. This movie sends a huge message that he can't demand $20 million plus all the perks next time he makes a big summer movie. IF he ever does. He will because he refuses to believe he has to change.

I don't really think Disney cares if they lose some money on this movie after all they are the company that produces Johnny pirates movies. They've made crap loads of money off of him and he knows it.
I saw the movie the night before it opened nation wide and the critics had been panning it for the past 2 weeks. I loved the movie! I think the critics had it in for him because he was playing a Native American. People need to stop listening to critics and think for themselves. In my opinion I think that's why Johnny made the remark he did.
Armie Hammer did not help this movie. He had no star power. Believe me Disney will make up there loss on Pirates 5.

I don't really care what critics think or what Johnny think .it just funny how celebrities get paid some much and gives to little . They know that the fans going to back them up no matter what because he help them live a fantasy . So if you movie suck or if your like k stew it okay you always have mindless fans to support you I don't blame you .Go Johnny take all these. Fans money they deserve it beside you need that money to go on your expensive dates with Amber oh and Remeber Dimonds are a girl best friend .

It tanked- Johnny has lost his credibility a half a dozen movies ago…..he's become a characture of himself- a once decent actor.

We (my family including kids) went to see it this past weekend. It was a good movie and we enjoyed it.

  21. tega says – reply to this

Re: greaseguy – I guess the "once decent actor" is still in demand b/c right now he is singed on for two movies (including Pirates 5) and one more after that and then in 2015 doing another one with Tim Burton.

  22. 22

Why didn't he show up in Paris France today? I guess he don't give a rats ass about the French anymore he has Texas now.

Re: Teenybits – I just read yesterday that Johnny couldn't be in Paris because his movie Transcendence is wrapping up. Some of the actors already reported their work was done. Johnny has to go back and finish his.

  25. Nicole says – reply to this

Re: Brian – I'm anxious to see the movie! In France, it'll be released 08/07.
Well, I know that a bunch of idiots critics deliberately wanted to sink the film, but, I agree with you, Brian. Amber damaged the film ,too.
In the beginning of the past year, Amber was starting to mess up the life of Johnny, dropping hints that she and Johnny were seeing each other in everywhere, especially in places with paparazzi. So, Johnny had to postpone the start of filming, and this with other things changed the date of the premiere of the film. With that, Disney didn't manage many cinemas, because there are many films debuting in summer season
And despite the public have enjoyed the film and the cinema rooms are full, but there were few rooms and a few sessions, so less box office. (sorry for my bad English)

  26. tega says – reply to this

Re: Nicole – The film was delayed because of the budget. I don't think Amber had anything to do it. On opening weekend in the US it opened against Despicable Me2 and because of what the critics said people let themselves believe it but most of those who didn't listen to the critics who went to make up their own minds, including myself, LOVED the movie. I saw it three times and every time the audience enjoyed it and while leaving the theatre nobody was complaining. Go see the move, take some friends and/or family with you and have a great night out. You won't be disappointed. The film is fantastic!!!!!

  27. Nicole says – reply to this

Re: tega – I'm looking forward to see The Lone Ranger I've read that some critcs didn't like it but the audience liked it. But, I'm talking about another reason for the delay, they postpone the filming for one month because Johnny wasn't ok, for personal reasons. Now we know that Amber messed up his life with his family, so it's easy to know thatAmber was that reason. Then they had more delay and they needed to postpone one more time and they lost some theatres.

  28. tega says – reply to this

Re: Nicole – I hear what you are saying but until I know what those personal reasons were I am not going to judge. It could have been anything but like you said they are "personal" so we may never know. In any event, Johnny could have said no to her but he didn't. He didn't say no then and he isn't saying no now.

  29. tega says – reply to this

Re: Nicole – If you read the other posts here on the most recent article about them you will see that a lot of people agree there were problems in Johnny's relationship for a long time and Amber just happened to be there when it was happening. Some say she caused herself to be there but either way it does not appear she was the one who broke it up. What seems to broke it up were the long separations due to their work and Johnny did say this in Rolling Stone interview. Eventually they just grew apart and both were unhappy and there really didin't seem to be anything left to salvage or else they would have worked it out.

  30. Nicole says – reply to this

Re: tega – I can't understand why you can't see who Amber really is.
Well, for me Johnny was never in love with Amber and I believe that he and Vanessa were already having problems. The issue is not that, the question is how Amber behaved throughout this period, we saw just a little of what she did, as she tried to drop hints that she and Johnny were seeing, she certainly did much more directly to Johnny.
For me, yes, she chased and pressured Johnny to stay with her. And it is this kind of mess that I meant. This mess hurt so much the life of Johnny as detracted the performance of the movie.

  31. tega says – reply to this

Re: NicoleRe: Your senile – Pressured Johnny??? I don't think so. Johnny could have said no then but he didn't and he isn't saying no now. The movie is fantastic and even though the critics didn't like it they didn't say anything bad about his performance.

Re: greaseguy – a half dozen movies ago! woow! so he became so he lost it all when he became famous and beloved by the audince and critics and the awards? how exactly did he become a caricature of himself? i hate this stupid phrase. descent depp is still descent depp there is no "once"

  34. NoMoreDepp says – reply to this

The Depp PR team now wants fans to beg for him to continue to work in movies. The arrogance of it all.

Just when there are rumors Depp might pick up the Freddie Mercury biopic, he makes $tatements that the Pirate$ of the Carribean 5 and Alice in Wonderland II are $afe from his threat of quitting acting altogether. He turned down the Whitey Bulger film becau$e $20M wa$n't enough; he require$ $23M?

It's time to put up or shut up. Do a film that requires your authenticity, real acting and taking real chances.

Also, best to get photographed with the homewrecker and Vanessa with the children a la Bruce and Demi Moore style, or watch the POTC and Aice II tank at the box office just like TLR.

  35. Sharpgator says – reply to this

To all the critics out their, if I needed more evidence(which I didn't) to your ineptitude you provide it by your condemnation of this film. I thought it was and excellent film. It had everything you want in a movie, touching scenes, funny scenes and excellent action. The special effects might have been a little extraordinary but you could have said that about many of Johnny's movies if you looked close enough. I saw smiles and boatloads of merry in peoples faces when I exited the theater. When are we going to quit listening to people who profess to know what the viewing public likes.

  36. Barbara says – reply to this

I agree with Nicole, here in Brazil the film ran for only one week in various cinemas and times and now it is being showed in just one time per day in few theatres. Because there are many movies to be showing at that same season.

  37. Babara says – reply to this

I enjoyed the movie and the audience too. I saw it 3 times with friends and all of us enjoyed it so much. The theatres are full. But as Nicole said, there are just few theatres showing the movie, it's not a 3D or Imax movie so the box office is small.

  38. Barbara says – reply to this

And I loved, loved, loved sooooo much Tonto!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Dam tabloids says – reply to this

It so sad Johnny planing to quit soon. He said because most of the dialogue or stuff written is not him. He barely gets to express his true stuff making him feel not human. People need to appreciate a good actor and I saw Lone Ranger it pretty good. I hate haters and who cares who he is dating he an amazing actor .Evenif my opinion about Amber is odd who cares please don't quit .

  40. Nicole says – reply to this

Indeed, Johnny is the best actor ever. My american friends told me tha the movie is really amazing. I'm looking fiward to see it next week

  41. Nicole says – reply to this

I don't judge Johnny or his films by his personal life, but I notice that the selfishness of Amber damaged not only the life of Johnny as well as his career.
Despite I don't believe that Johnny loves Amber, but is his life and his business so he decides what to do with it, but Amber shouldn't have to pressured Johnny, shouldn't have done everything to show publicly that they were together, this caused personal problems to Johnny and also reflected in his work. Not in his interpretation or in the quality of the movie, because I've heard that the movie is amazing, but Amber harmed the scheduling of the exhibition of the film, then the movie had just few sessions. It was really bad

  42. tega says – reply to this

Re: Nicole – As of July 30 so far the movie has grossed close to $170 million and still hasn't been released in some countries including China. The theatres that may have pulled out would haven't affected the numbers by anything measureable. Johnny's relationship was on the outs for a long time even before he met Amber. If it wasn't Amber coming into the picture it would have been someone else. Vanessa was with other people too during this time. If he took time out for personal reasons that just means he had "personal" things going on and it is not our business to blame anyone for what happens in his personal schedule of things.
